You can switch it through the app. Both lights are not supposed to be on at the same time. If you enable Alexa/Google with a command you can voice control the switch. Thanks for watching
@HomegrownHowTo thanks for the response! I have Google but can't seem to get the night light to turn on without having to go to the app. Did you have to do something special with Alexa?
@@meetthemartins1094 yes I had to program the commands on the Alexa app. I can’t recall the what the default commands were but I changed it so when I say “Alexa turn on nightlights” it kicked them on. I don’t have google so I can’t help there. Sorry. 😞 I know the instructions that come with the lights aren’t the best either as the language barrier is definitely there.
So I ordered 2 of these lights for my garage and only 1 can connect. “Very frustrating”. So I ordered another one and just switched out the light and STILL won’t connect. I even tried “AP Mode”… Any suggestions or ideas? Did you have the same problems??
I did not have this problem. But it does sound frustrating. I had one light start to flicker after about two weeks of install. I reached out to Lumary and they sent a new light right away. I tried just switching out the light and it still flickered. I then replaced the junction box and it worked great, with both lights. There was some sort of issue with the original junction box. So you can try replacing the junction box as well but to me it sounds more like an issue with the wifi connection likely coming from the light source. I recommend reaching out to Lumary and let them know your issue.
Great question. I would assume you’ll need a light switch to meet building codes. But I’m not entirely sure. They do work well with a traditional switch as well.
Nice Lumary Smart RGBAI Recessed Lighting!
They are awesome! 👍
Those lights are nice! I need to grab some for the girls. Nice vid and instructions.
You should!
Great video! How did you set up for the night lights to come on without the main light turning on?

Some awesome lights I really like the effects mode. Any idea if you can make them go with a movie you are watching?
There is a section within the app that allows you to pick up noise on the device, you can sync these with a movie, music, video game etc.

Same here with my foir lights. Im so frustrated having to pay so much for these lights not connecting
In new construction do you have to wire these to a physical light switch or can they just be controlled from the remote and app?

You can use physical switches, but can not support dimmer switch, does not support remote control, can support app and third party voice control.
I have a black ceiling in my mancave. Is there a way to paint the outer ring of the lights black?
That sounds awesome! But no I don’t think so.
My Lumary recessed lights don't have a ground wire or cone with a metal box. Where do I connect the ground? Thank you.
if you have can lighting can you switch it to these?
You would need to remove the cans to be able to wire these up, unfortunately.
What size hole saw did you use, was it exactly 6”? Their website says the hole needs to be 6.3”, is that true?
Mine was 6.1 inch
Thank you!
Can these be installed in a can housing ?
Unfortunately, no. I hope Lumary makes these lights with that option soon!
Unfortunaetly they do not have CSA/ETL Cerfification. So they may be illegal to use or sell in Canada.?
Interesting. I’ve never heard of this certification. Thanks for the info 👍
