Agreed! Me personally cannot decide between this and The Poet and the Pendulum. Every time I hear this, I feel like this is the best and every time I hear The Poet and the Pendulum, I feel it's the best one!

I love floor's version with all my heart, but man, the instrumental also manages to give me goosebumps
A música tem mais de 10 minutos, mas quando acaba você quer que nunca tivesse terminado. A primeira vez em que me apaixonei por esta obra angelical, lembro que a escutei umas 5 vezes consecutivas, e terminei de ouvir o álbum com muito pesar, por ter que parar de repeti-la. Ja faz uns 5 anos, e até hoje sinto um arrepio nostálgico ao ouvi-la.
Uma obra-prima do Nightwish, com certeza!
Eu também ouvi a música várias vezes. Ela é de viciar. É a minha preferida depois da Ocean Soul.

Now that I've wiped the tears from my face, yet again, perfection is the best adjective I can come up with. What an outstanding production. Floor has such beautiful projection with this number. The emotion it stirs in me is simply uncontrollable. I become totally lost in it.
This is just an instrumental version, there's no one singing on it besides the choirs.

Yes, yes, I realize this is the instrumental. I play piano, so, in my defense, if necessary, I know just a little bit about music. However, there is a version with Floor doing the vocal, on "Showtime, Storytime," from WOA 2013, and for this was my reference. And so pleased I could offer a bit of humor @Matthew Brown. That's always a rewarding realization.
Then, don't you think you should have aptly commented on the video of that performance instead of this one?
I'm thinking I didn't fully pay attention to the first post, but it really did look like you thought Floor was singing this one.

I must say that Ghost Love Score is my most fav Nightwish song.
Enchanting and lets us see why the music is all that matters, without caring who sings, is the music itself the one that speaks.

I went through a phase about 7 years ago where I listened to this and only this on repeat for weeks. Hearing the instrumental now is so cool, I can hear the lyrics in my head. Really brings me back.
How anyone could ever dislike this is just.. beyond me. 10 years ago already, man, time really does fly by when you're not paying attention to it in the grand scheme of things. As a kid, Nightwish was one of my first, true musical 'loves'. Decades later, literally, and I still find myself being reminded of why I first fell.
Just an incomprehensible song! In many parts, and all work together. The song rises towards the end, the best-lift sang Floor Jansen.
Perfect, flawless! So absolutely beautiful.

Si, va más allá de las cantantes, tenés razón, está es su mejor canción, pero no estoy de acuerdo en eso de "el verdadero" ya que casi cerca de esta canción están las otras 2 obras maestras: "the greatest show on earth" y "the poet and the pendulum"

Wow! It's been 10 years and yet it still sounds so fresh! Everytime I listen to this album I feel the same way I did 10 years ago. Regardless of who the singer is, I personally consider ONCE Nightwish's very best album ever!

The best part in this song is p is the orchestral backing ghost chrous that goes: "MY FALL! WILL BE FOR YOU! MY LOVE! WILL BE IN YOU! IF YOU, BE THE ONE TO, CUT ME I'LL BLEED FOREVER!"x2
And then you sing in an impossibly high ghostly falsetto that reaches the heaven itself, "MAIIIIIII FALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL WIIIIIEIIIIIIEEEELLLLLL BEEEEEE FOOOOOOOOOO YOUUUOUUUUU!!!!"x2 then remember youre not Tarja or Floor nor were you channeling their spirit-like vocalizations into this ephemeral corporeal existence of yours. MusicMakesYouBraver oh I forgot to say, if you listened to the current versions, aka Floor's version, the backing chorus is changed to reflect the _'Treachery Of Tarja'_ as much as this version says _'Don't Betray Us, Tarja!'_ , the current version goes as such: *"My fall, will be for you. My love, will be in you. You were the one to cut me, so I will bleed forever!"*
The tell, in versions you cannot hear the backing choir is in the pauses. Tarja's version has two pauses where current version has one. If you want link to a clear recording with re-recorded backing vocals, I can provide you with it. Have fun!
Thanks, metal isn't 100% of my listening material. And only less than 1% of my metal listening material is Nightwish. I'll pass on the recording. Not entirely fond of the NW boys and their childishness.
Kevin Tan That's just not true. They didn't change the backing chorus. The first two times it sings "if you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever" and at the end of the song it changes to "you were the one to cut me so I'll bleed forever". But that's the way it's always been, they didn't change it to "reflect the Treachery Of Tarja", you simply made that up.
This version is so beautiful! And those string runs at the very end are amazing!

These instrumentals without doubt show that Holopainen's talent is the secret of Nightwish success. It sucks that they attribute everything to the singers. This song is so perfect even without the vocalist ( though, Floor Jansen's version is simply wow).
I've never heard Ghost love score instrumental before, and I had no idea of all these little details. Makes you appreciate Tuomas even more. It is so beautiful! I hope Tuomas gets his opportunity to make music for a movie(s), and that he will be recognized as a great composer.

I would say: Tuomas is the alchemist inventing the spells, Floor is the sorceress casting them. With the help of the other instrumentalists. But the music of Tuomas as high emphasis on lyrics and vocals. Enforced by genius instrumental composition and skilled live playing.

There's not better song than this in symphonic metal. This is the best.
This sounds werry different than I thought.
But there are so many small things I first hear now that make this song so good. Thought I haven't heard these things before I have always felt something in the back of the singer. And this isn't the only song like this from Nightwish. I've heard this in many other songs by this band. And this is the reason for I love this band.

Gosh 10 years already gone and eagerly waiting for the new album, with Floor it might be better then Once, but it is very difficult to make a better song than Ghost Love Score and I don't care which singer you put on the song, it is a masterpiece!
