87 what a summer!! Spending all my money in the arcade on this!!
I was 8. Not a care in the world.
I was 12 when I first played it at a Market
Yeah u could it played punch out or classic contra instead man
yo igual verano 87 / 88 pasaba jugando este clasico tenia 14 años 😊
This game is seriously underrated...
Most likley, the best boxing game that didn't take itself too seriously if all time.
At least tip 3.
The animations, actions and sfx are awesome.
I used to love this game as a kid.. 8 got to get this game again
Probably the best boxing game from the 80s besides Punch Out. Fun times.
I played this game a lot more than PunchOut but both are legendary games.
@KevinPayton-fq8gd this game is better imho by far.
This is the most realistic feeling "non serious" boxing game.
These characters feel like boxers..
They move like boxers ... punch out characters did not feel like boxers... it was a pattern based Gane.. this Game was not about having to do patterns
I remember when my local fish & chip shop got this game in and at first I was a bit sketchy on it because I hadn’t seen it anywhere else but once I got the hang of it really enjoyed it.
I got much better bang for my buck playing a game of this than I typically would playing Double Dragon, RoboCop or Bubble Bobble.
I remembered the Simpsons old Episodes where Bart and Homer plays a game like this
Everything about this game is amazing: graphics, gameplay, design and sound. Just wonderFul. And the bald referee is my favorite! I see a lot of similarities to punch out, too.
I got a friend…..Mr right hand 😂
This game is NOTHING like punchout. Plus thus game is superior to punch out.
The game is from '85, so it has some of the first voice samples in video game history!
The very first voice samples came from some 70s arcade games. iirc, think the exact first game with them was Death Race from 1976
@@solarflare9078 LIKED JAILBREAK SPEECH AND RETURN OF THE JEDI
Some of the most clear speech samples as well. You can tell exactly what the ref is saying, without it sounded like a machine speaking
I wonder if they chose middle weight because in the 80s, the middle weight division was arguably more popular than the heavyweight division.
I wonder if this game influenced Kageki
It’s been VERY satisfying hearing people mention that the cut scenes look like he’s getting a b***job; I’ve been saying that since 1987. Still my favorite boxing game-that ring is gigantic 😅
EDIT: Was that just on the NES cartridge? I haven’t seen it in this video yet.
7:38-Nope; there it is. I was right, which is always satisfying.
I got far on this game when I was 11 or 12,but I had to go home and gave up
That used to be one of my favorite games back in the day I remember playing it at the arcade and then when it came out on the Nintendo was the shznit
I still have this. 80s baby
Violence Joe wasn't very violent.
Lol I agree with my friend... I was just hoping for a Mike Tyson punch out type screen saying that you are the champion in the paper lol ... But this Robotron and Kung Fu Master were my favorite games in the 80s arcade 👍
This game was awesome!! STILL looks awesome. The person playing showed his skills within the 1st minute and change of the video.
Dude a beast. How do you knock them down so fast
Why the referee looks like Art Garfunkel
Man I loved this as a kid.
Wow! I never knew there was an original arcade version of Ring King. And there's that Henry Mancini Baby Elephant Dance that plays when you input your name in the High Scores list! :D
Strange. He lost his 27th fight, but the game added one KO to his record instead of the loss.
23:22 to 24:20
The background music in NES is stuck in my head 😂😂😂😂😂
This game didn't translate well to the NES. During each rest period of each round, it looks like the corner men are doing.. something...
They did an excellent job getting the boxing mechanics down. Those are excellent punches & movements by the boxers. Very realistic
One of my favorite games...Spent a lot of $$$$.
this game was simple but really hard I never win 4th game 🤣
Is there an ending to this game?
Brabo já perdi muito money jogando isso.
I officially had the highest score on this ever! All about the body blows
body blows?
Oh so THAT’S what they’re doing in the corner.
I'm still trying to figure out what it is. It looks like they're lacing up their waistband?
We all knew that as kids, but it’s still funny.
@@kobocopcustomsno. In boxing, they’ll pull the leather piece they were around they waist away so they can breath easier in boxing
looks soooooo good!
J U E G A Z O
It’s amazing to think back at how much I sucked. People are just way better gamers now.

3:14 You got pieced up pretty bad. … and Im not about to get into on what it looks like in between rounds.
I ruled at this game. Never saw it before until I went to Sara's at Presque Isle in Erie, PA in the summer of '86.
There was a little shack of video games there.
So the 21:45 gay between rounds action is not an NES exclusive eh? Lol I could imagine that as pride dlc nowadays. Though I do admit arcade still presents better.
LOL
*"Where can I get the Str8 version?"*
@@PontFlairjust rewatched 21:45 uh oh lol now I gotta edit, not an exclusive. No point arcade archives 😂
@@MrVariantArcade Archives may not get it anyway. Data East distributed the game while it was Woodplace that programmed it, and Hamster has yet to release any games from either company.
its funny when you upercut the guy out of the ring lol
I did that every round lol
Love the game over tune. Shave and a haircut. Two bits.😁🤪😂🤣
really good!!
😊👌💪
I don't care I love it this was great

Loved this title on the stand up arcade in the 80s...
Size of the ring was insane
Como agachar? Qual comando?
This is the Og OG Boxing Game
Great game. Bomba Yern!
Good job!
1:06 He got the bull jesus knocked out of him.
Damn this takes me back
Your not jon "chon chon" brown so..
So, this game basically never ends.....glad I see this now and wont waste my time.
How is that a waste of time?
If you came watching this expecting story driven gameplay from an 80s arcade game, you've come to the wrong place
Arcade games, usually, didn't have an "ending". This was the 80's.
Arcade games back in the old days were literally just high score contests, you'd visit every so often to see if your score was still top and if not insert money and try to take your score back. Competition was always the name of the game.
@@ralphiecifaretto8961it wasn't a waste of time, it was one of my favorite games ....I was just joking 🎉
