I always loved them myself. I actually prefer the little feeder guppies over the fancy guppies. And they are so cheap only 25 cents . Fancy guppies sell for $4.99

I had picked up some guppies to feed my African clawed frogs and I found some of the 🌈 in the bag! I kept them and put them into my guppy community tank! Some are purple/blue/green/orange and some are orange/turquoise/lime green. One has a sword tail. So different! Paid $1 for 8! 😄
I just want to say that these wild colorless guppies are beautiful. Me and my friends loves taking care of different freshwater fishes and they just despise wild guppies, but for me i really like them and i don't care if most of fishkeepers just use them as feeders. Not for me because i love them.
I love the Endler guppy and I bumped into your video so I could see the difference between the wild variety and the Endler variety guppies. Thank you for sharing what you know & have. 🐬🐠❤️
Cool video JH. Enjoyed the tanks update. My 'guppies' look very similar to your wild caughts and I am in Australia...., I have the tiger pattern appearing also, the black dot, same colors, etc. I will have to get some footage, they are so similar. These fish have been in my fish room for 3 years from a small initial colony and now are throwing out very similar fish to yours. These are my first ever Guppy's after 40 years of fishkeeping.......I have become a guppy fan. All the best. Cheers
Finally some one got WILD Guppy I've searched almost all guppy videos but they don't look like mines but now I know that my guppy is a wild guppy is saw a fish in an old farm the owner was my tito and he caught it in the river biside it there's a river beside in his farm
Yeah... not that I know much about guppy genetics, but those totally look like Endlers! My mutt guppies throw babies that look like that once in a while too. I'm always fascinated by the recessive and dominant traits! Great video. Good luck with the new colonies. 😁👍
Looks like I'm 6 months late but I love these wild guppies. Speciation in Poecilia is a difficult thing, even the status of P. wingei as a separate species is debated by experts with valid morphological and DNA evidence on both sides. It's likely that the first fish to ever be described as an Endler back in the 1930s was a different Micropoecilia sp. rather than the Poecilia wingei that we know of today (though again, not all authorities/experts accept Micropoecilia as a valid genus and instead consider Micropoecilia spp. to be Poecilia ssp.) A defining characteristic of P. wingei is the very narrow caudal peduncle. The fish you have here don't have that narrow caudal peduncle so they would likely be excluded from P. wingei. That being said, my understanding is that P. reticulata, even in the wild, typically does not have the large size disparity between males and females that we see here, so they may not necessarily be best classed as P. reticulata. On the other hand, the coloration (particularly the black spots) are classic wild P. reticulata. It's possible that what you have here is either an undescribed species, or something that might be considered a subspecies of P. reticulata, or a hybrid between P. reticulata and another Poeciliid. My understanding is that most of the Caribbean Islands have Micropoecilia as native species while Poecilia are limited to the mainland and Trinidad as native species, but have been introduced to almost all of the Islands by humans as mosquito control. This may be a hybrid with P. reticulata and some of the more dimorphic Micropoecilia. Either way, they're gorgeous and I'd love to own some someday
They are not endlers. Its just that people expect guppies to look like the bred ones with large fins, while the original wild guppy looks like this, very similar to endlers. Its comparable to dogs and wolves. A German shepherd looks more similar to wolves than a poodle does, even though the poodle and shepherd might be closer related.
Nice video! Thank you! I also have wild guppies and they love to eat crabs! I have just made a video of them in a eating frenzy over a small female crabs with hundreds of eggs!
They are definitely gorgeous especially the males unique genes n strains not the same thing sold as feeders that are probably over inbreeded in pet stores .i highly recommend anyone getting these if they can while u still have them
I thought feeder guppies have the best gene pool for the reason that breeders always put healthy runts or the "ugly" ones in the feeder mix from other pure breed strains. Ive heard the argument that they are actually geneticly more healthy vs the more pure bred endler strains for sale or new fancy breeds like koi guppies ......
The males look like the feeder endlers that I get from the pet store . I plan on adding more soon and adding a few more blue fancy guppies . I have a thing for anything blue 💙
Wild guppies(P. reticulata) often look very similar in appearance to Endlers(P. wingei). Some observable differences include length of gonopodium in males, carotenoid pigmentation, & rate of reproduction. Hybrids can be more difficult to properly identify, as genetic heterosis leads to deviations in trait inheritance.
I would really like to get hold of some wild guppies to rejuvenate my strains. Almost impossible to get hold of here in Sweden. And If you can get hold of some, the price is about 90 $ for each fish.
These look like wild guppies to me I useto catch these as a kid in trinidad and i have a colony from trinidad going here in NYC. Do you sell these ? Or would you consider a trade?
Feeder fish they shouldn't be because they're beautiful and these females have a yellow color in their bodies. Who says females don't have any color, this video proofs it. I hope you ship and sale all over the world because I'll be one of your customer. Is there a way to make contact for sale. Please reply.
Wild guppy is beautiful than other guppies.... We call that natural beauty
Agreed
I always loved them myself. I actually prefer the little feeder guppies over the fancy guppies. And they are so cheap only 25 cents . Fancy guppies sell for $4.99

Perfect, stuff I needed to know when I thin out my various yard tubs.
I just bought a few of those water color endler’s at my fish shop ..They remind me of a Claud Monet painting. ❤

Fascinating! I managed to get these at an lfs, thanks for deepening my understanding. I thought they were endlers at first.
I used to breed them when I was a child back in Dominican Republic

I'm still trying to wrap my head around, endlers, guppies, and their hybrids. But those definitely look like what I've seen labeled as endlers.

Some observable differences include length of gonopodium in males, carotenoid pigmentation, & rate of reproduction. from what I've seen, they are very likely guppies.
Yea those are Endlers They don't look like Wild Guppies.
Very cool video. I know its been 3 years but do you still have this line of wild guppies going? Thanks for sharing.🙏✌️👍💗💯🔥
