    Thanks for your detailed responses. One last question, do you have a video where you demonstrate the best way to do/best place to put the grounding wire for an amp on a 2014 toyota corolla

    Canada man, they sound pretty sweet.
    The voice and instruments really pop

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Рік тому

      Yes they sound great.. It took a few days to adjust, at first I thought there are too many highs, and I turned them down.. but eventually I turned the highs back to normal and it sounds great. I guess I was used to flat music without highs.

    Will there still be a sound quality increase without an amplifier? I'm assuming these are low impedance speakers if you're using the stock radio

    • @JosephMustafa-kx6hg
      @JosephMustafa-kx6hg 4 місяці тому +1

      The answer is yes with high sensitivity speakers - like every Infiniti reference speaker they win be louder and cleaerer even on stock

    My dog, enjoying the video so far, are you from Hungary? You sound identical to my buddy who lives there. I am doing this same thing for some skar tweets.

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Рік тому

      Nice! Skar tweeters are great.. I was going to get some, but it was harder to obtain them than the Rockford, and I figure the quality will be very similar.. The Skar may be louder.

    If I dont have a solder gun handy any reason not to use butt connectors here as done with the 6" speakers?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  10 місяців тому +1

      You could use butt connectors yes. I prefer soldering when possible, that way if there's an issue I know for sure the soldered connection is not causing it. On the speakers I had no choice, because it's aluminum to copper, so it can't be soldered. Make sure to squeeze the connector really well.

  • @mrchad97z49

    never solder speaker wire. Solder adds a lot of attenuation and the heat does the same. The neat result is more attenuation is less sound.

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  2 місяці тому +1

      Pre-twist and solder properly, and you'll get a good connection. Solder is used everywhere. Even the factory solders from the spade terminal the coil of the speaker, and in the car stereo the pins for the speaker wires are soldered to the circuit board.

    Do you think there is a way to keep it looking OEM? (After the upgrade)

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Рік тому +1

      Paint the mount with flat or semi-gloss black paint before installing it if you don't like the white writing. There's no other way, installing the tweeter without it's mount will not sound good (double grill is bad for sound).

    is it required to dremel into the plastic? in other words can the new tweeters fit into the OEM housing ?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  10 місяців тому

      They fit, but the tweeters have their own grill. They are not designed to be placed behind another grill, and will sound quite bad. I would rather not do the upgrade than place them behind the grill, that's how bad they sounded to me.

    Do you know if they sell the mount part by itself?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  8 місяців тому

      They're sold together,.. Most brands will come with their own flush mount. Check the included items in the manual for the tweeters you're considering, and it should show what's inside as well as the cut-out template, with the width for the hole required so they fit in perfectly. Here's the R1T-S: rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/2012/4_speakers/rf_primer1speakers_cutout-irs.pdf it's 1.83" , top right of page 4.

    Why wouldn’t you just mount the new speaker in from the back?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Рік тому +3

      Double grill for tweeters makes them sound horrible. The grill it comes with is optimized for the tweeter to sound good. Any other grill or obstruction of the sound will reflect the sound and it sounds bad, I tried.

    Thank you for this video. I got a question about Bluetooth that is not related to this video. I have issue with my Toyota Corolla Bluetooth. When I get a phone call over Bluetooth, it is very noisy. The other side of the call cannot hear me. Do you know how I can fix it? Thank you!

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Рік тому

      Did you try another phone? You have to first find the problem to fix it. If it's bad with every phone, then it's the car at fault. Try another phone first. The microphone is in the dome lights right above you.. so if there's something wrong with the microphone, it could be replaced. Lastly if there's something wrong the stereo, you can try another stereo from a junk yard. I will be posting a video on how to upgrade the stereo with a Pioneer within a month or so.

    What about capacitors? OEM tweeters have them built in

      Yes the Rockford Fosgates have them built in also, they're at the back, I show them in my Unboxing video ua-cam.com/video/n87ONuvIHDc/v-deo.html

      Spray paint with a Matte/flat color is probably the best.. 3-4 light coats, and it can cover it nicely.
