    How come you didn’t just get the same JBL speakers meant for the JBL upgrade on the 2020 Corolla XSE?

      @@Phileepoh yeah if you get the entire set of 9 then it’s a much better value in the end. It’s 4 speakers for each door, the 2 dashboard tweeters, the 2 A-pillar tweeters, and the subwoofer under the drivers seat. I’ll probably get it soon

    Do you think the stock headunit power is sufficient for aftermarket speakers (upgrading all of them)?
    And are there stocks amps or just the headunit pushing all speakers?
    (JBL GX Series in doors and dash;
    6.5" x 4
    3.5" x 2
    1" x 2
    Thanks

      Hey brotha! So the head unit is not all that good (non-JBL) the amplifier I believe is built in to the head unit I THINK not 100% on that but double check. I highly recommend getting an amplifier for your speakers to get the most and best quality, upgrading your speakers alone with a stock head unit will make it seem like you bought bad speakers. Having a good amplifier (I like Alpine or JBL personally) will bring those aftermarket speakers ALIVE🤘🏽🤘🏽

    Dear novice audio people,
    The factory system sounds clean and inoffensive. There is little distortion and seems to dynamically adjust as you turn the volume up. Never sounds like shit even near its max volume. I am going to sound deaden the doors to save all the waisted bass and response quality of the door speakers. You can feel the outer sheet metal vibrating when the base hits and also hear it bleed outside of the car. This means there is poor insulation and waisting energy that could be conserved to drastically increase sound quality inside the car. Slapping on a new set of speakers in an enclosure that has poor insulation and vibration dampening properties will lend minimal gains. Buy quality sound deadening before you buy new sets.

    • @robob221
      @robob221 3 роки тому +1

      If you want sub bass, figure how how to incorporate a subwoofer. Door speakers are not designed to produce sub woofer sound. I personally don’t need subwoofer response in my car as it just costs a lot to implement correctly and given space restrictions in this car it’s unrealistic.

      you damn right any 3.5 aftermarket speaker are garbage usless with out a good amp. and by the way the factory speaker are pioneer factory so they are crispy and hold the bass just right out of the factory hu... but the true is you dont get any good sound in the rear speaker and thats someting in the hu

I wouldn't have noticed but I had music on while I was getting something out of the back seat, and then messed with the fade and the rear speakers are damn near non existent... Have you upgraded them? I'm looking at a pair of Kicker 46CSC674 but I don't know how much better they will sound hooked up to the stock head unit without adding an amp.

    I see it has 3 wires coming up through the dash. The speaker has 2 spots to be wired to. What's the 3rd wire for and which are positive/ negative??

    • @Phileepoh
      @Phileepoh  3 роки тому +1

      Hey brotha, so it’s actually 4 wires. That harness has both positives and negatives for the dash and front door speaker of the driver side. You’ll notice when you unplug that harness from the factory speaker and then try playing music, the corresponding front door speaker turns off too. Make sense? Idk why toyota has it set up that way

    • @Phileepoh
      @Phileepoh  3 роки тому +1

      That’s why when I show the male side of the Red Wolf adapter (side that connects to the dash harness), you’ll notice two red(pos) and two blacks(neg) give you a total of 4 wires

    hey i have a question. i have a 2020 corolla with the upgraded factory JBL. i want to upgrade the dash speakers but wanted to ask first before popping off stuff, the dash tweeters are not JBL on the JBL package correct? because i think the only JBL speakers are the pillar tweeters and the rear subwoofer. i’d like to start off with switching the dash tweeters (if theyre not already JBL which i don’t think they are), and then hopefully upgrade the doors

    Okay so I bought some component speakers but I'm lost..... how do I utilize the crossover from these components? I'm replacing the dash tweeter and the door speakers. Problem is when I unplug the dash speakers I then have no signal to door speaker. I'm just trying to figure out how to wire the dash speakers to make the door speaker normal

    • @Phileepoh
      @Phileepoh  3 роки тому +1

      Aww man, okay. So yes the dash speakers also have the door speakers connected to that harness, why I don’t know. But you have two speaker positives and negatives which you could in theory tap into or use. The hardest thing is figuring out how to wire the crossover to the door speaker. Unfortunately I do not have an answer BUT you can look into the Corolla Forum page OR if you have facebook, follow the 12th Gen Corolla Crew 2020+ page and I know there is at least one person who has an answer for you. Sorry I couldn’t help on that one man :/
