Newly diagnosed and on the list for DBT. It definitely answers questions to my anxiety and depression that I was diagnosed with more than 25 years ago. It's a seriously lonely life but now that I have this diagnosis, I can at least put a name to why I've been in this battle. Hope to live another day and just maybe, just maybe I can find me and have a life. I am now 61 and time is running out. Thanks so much for posting.

This is and was very helpful to me. How these women speak, esp the person wearing glasses, seems so familiar. Just the subtle ways she expresses herself, listens and communicates. I'm struggling with understanding my emotions right now. I hope to get the correct diagnosis soon, as I'm waiting for another assessment after seeing a counsellor.

They both seem very relaxed and 'centred'.
      Great to listen to.

I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my UA-cam channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

Thank you for sharing your story. Can I ask tho, how the hell did you get DBT. I've been begging my therapists to allow me on the programme for the last 3 years since my diagnosis and they're acting like they've never heard of it! I'm getting so angry hearing people are receiving this when I'm wanting to die every fucking day to not put my family through what they're having to go through with me and my psychiatrists are refusing me the treatment created for me. How is this fair?!! I'm being put into group therapy sessions but nothing to do with dbt!!!

Hi Jill, I'm just commenting as I don't think Debbie and Lechelle check back on comments here. I'm really sorry to hear your psychiatrist isn't offering you the therapy you need. Sometimes getting an advocate can help get your views across about the care you need we have some info on how to get one here www.mind.org.uk/information-support/guides-to-support-and-services/advocacy/finding-an-advocate/ It is also sometimes possible to self refer to psychological therapy services, you can check if this is the case in your area here > www.nhs.uk/service-search/Psychological-therapies-(IAPT)/LocationSearch/10008 Hope that helps, take care, Ellie from Mind

Mind, the mental health charity you are so kind to reply. I will look into all of this. I've been fighting for 3 years telling them I need DBT and they said unless I'm actually attempting to kill myself I can't have it. I just want to be 'normal' again and have 'normal' reactions to things. I tried taking up art therapy and my psychiatrists said if I started that they'd stop treating me (sitting in a group talking about my week is not fixing anything), as it is conflicting with what they are doing. You are an incredible charity. I'm sorry for swearing. Thank you for everything you do x
