Your tutorials are insanely helpful. Love that you move through everything really directly without heaps of fluff, and appreciate the way you drop in lots of additional tips and shortcuts as you go. Thanks heaps Evan.

So good! Totally what I was searching all over the internets for!
I have taken my skill set to the highest level because of your easy to follow tutorial. It's like I don't want to miss your classroom and the lesson.
This was awesome! Thank you! That expression controlling the shape size relative to the font size is brilliant!
this is the tutorial I've been waiting for!!! especially from you!!!! finally!!! thank you!!!!!!!
you're a great teacher, love the simplicity, with details! subbed!
You rock man. Clear and concise, as always.
Thanks you so much for posting an updated video on this topic and making it easy to follow! This is the only video I was able to find that covers this since they got rid of “text template”
Another great tutorial. Thanks EC!
Was looking for how to make our own titles for our family videos. Finished our first ones thank to you. You nailed it man, i appreciate the video!

I'm glad you keep finding the tutorials worth while. I'll keep making them so long as people get something from them.
This is really helpful, Evan :D Thank you very much ! Good luck !
What a great video, helps A LOT in the beginning.
Great stuff! And what you did with keyframes and graph editor was another lesson I learned. I will use that advice for my next animations.
What a great tutotrial! Thank you for sharing this man, and those funny comments made watching this a complete joy, LOL :D Keep up the good work! :)
You're blessed with the gift of Tutorialism!
Thanks Evan, this is a fantastic tutorial!
I've been wondering about Essential Graphics for a while now. Holy CRAP! I must start using this... I hit watch later on this video a long time ago.
the stroke scaling dynamically has been driving me mad for months. I never thought to move it, THANK YOU!
It's a pretty fun move. You can nest so many things above the stroke that it can really become a powerful technique.
L=thisComp.layer("Text Line");
X=L.sourceRectAtTime().width;
Y=L.sourceRectAtTime().height;
P=thisComp.layer("Control").effect("Slider Control")("Slider");
[X,Y]+[P,P]
Thank you!
Do you know how to make the shape layer anchor to the left so I can do a left-justified bottom left third title? I realize you commented on this a year ago but if you know it'd be ever so helpful. lol.
thank you! (noticed too late:D) Vote this up guys!
I know this is old but Thanks! I was doing exactly what he did and some reason I kept getting an error.

I know you probably have a life, but you need to make more of these videos. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Make more please.. thanks!
It's true on both fronts. I earnestly wish I could find the time to make more tutorials. But clients have needs for videos, and I have needs to make them.
Thanks for this awesome video, super informative!
Your video was very helpful, I'm still learning and getting the hang of it still. I'm into House and EDM. I look forward to seeing more of your

Awesome, great video!
Thanks for the motivation. I wasn't sure if I could do it, but I might try it eventually.
awesome tutorial!
This is awesome!! Thank you!
Don't really like or want having to use templates, but they have saved me more than once. Sometimes I'm asked to do a certain thing from one day to another, and it's just almost impossible to come up with something original in such a short deadline.
eventually it all snapped into place and I started learning how to add all the effects, titles, motion text. It was pretty cool to see my
I had a suspicion I didn't know enough about AE and some people are extremely good at AE.. My suspicions are confirmed. Writing formulas in code opens up a whole new world.

Really nice! I learned new things! I tried to do it with two lines like your first Comp, but I have not got it, I've tried it all day....
Will be following
Loved this tutorial. Really helpful. I have also seen the ability to switch between animations/background graphics as in Adobe's Claim Jumper examples. Any references on how to do that or could you make a part two to this tutorial?
That might be a good followup. I'll put it on the list.
Thank you so much for this!
Very helpful, thanxalot!
Awesome dude just awesome 👍🏻
Thanks for this tutorial! God Bless! :)
Thank you, it helped but i had a little bit of problems. Good Tutorial
This is great! You explain things so well! What if I have pre-comps or Sub-Comps with properties I want to change? How would I access the assets in those with Essential Graphics?
Awesome!
you are so helfull man god bless you love from india
Thanks for tutorial
I would have clicked thumb up just for the jazzy/funky beat 0:58 itself. The man who has the taste in proper music just can't make bad videos on AE.
keep the good work
What is your favorite screen capturing software for this by the way?
You can do it for free with QuickTime! :)
Just choose "File > New Screen Recording" in the menu.
Looks like he is using iShow U HD
Hi Evan, thanks for your marvelous video. I tried it out, but ran into problems when I wanted TWO lines of text (with different fonts/sizes), sort of like you use in your own intro. I run into problems probably because the anchor points of the text layer and the outline are messing things up.
I see in the beginning of your video that you have an extra null layer and the two text layers are linked to that null layer. How do I set that up so that the outline scales to the size of both the text layers together?
with it in a few weeks or months if I pour enough ti and effort into it. I'll be watcNice tutorialng many more of your videos for tips and inspiration.
gracias hermano, muy util
Hi Evan, great tutorial as always. You’re always a go to for AE!
Question, we have an existing template that has a title slide out from behind a little shape graphic and is ‘hidden’ by a track matte. All we have to do is change the name and we’re good to go, except sometimes the name is too long so sticks out from behind the track matte before it animates. Easy enough to fix in AE but I want to make an essential graphics template for Premiere, and can’t work out how to enable position adjustments for the start of the animation. Any tips? Thanks a million
Hey Evan, awesome tutorial, how do you change the font color in premiere pro? I can't figure out how to add font color properties to essential graphics in AE.
Thanks in advance
Nice One! Thanks!
You are very welcome.
Thank you so much
I love how you aren't allowed to colorpick colors from your libraries in Premiere! It makes this almost brilliant.
This is a great tutorial! Is there any way to get it to support multiple lines? Wondering if there's some way to do it with manipulating the anchor point.
Hello! Great Video. I was wondering if there is a way to outline text in Essential Graphics (After Effects)? I purchased a package from VideoHive and can't
seem to create a border/outline around the letters of the text. It would be very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you 😊❤️❤️❤️
respect for you
Thank you so much for recommended
Thank you very much!
fantastic
Thanks for the tutorial!
Somehow I can't control the sliders in Premiere. They show up, but the values don't change like in the preview in Essential Graphics in After Effects. Are there any settings to take care of in order for the sliders to work properly?
Hi very nice and informative video. Although i have two questions. You place everything, text and shape in the center, what if you want to appear the box and the text from the left?
Also is it possible through graphic essentials to type a text and automatically where there is an number to make it let's say bold and red?
Thank you
Hi Evan, I was wondering how to use this technique for lower thirds that scale from the left? when i type in other characters, the matte and rectangle dont account for the text being left aligned. is there anything you would suggest?
Thanks!
awesome stuff. 2 questions.
what if I wanted to edit the time at when things happened. for example if its a longer line of text and I did an animate out. how do I tell it "hey dude, animate out at 5 seconds instead of 3"
question 2. how do I do it to have multiple lines of text in the same essential graphics panel. so the client can type in line for line in the same thing without having to pull in multiple copies of the same Essential Graphis. Thanks!
