Excellent! I love your tempo, most tutorials I have to watch at 2x speed, and have a little too much explanation in the yeah-that's-rather-obvious category. I had never used after effects before and yet it was all clear to me!

Excellent tutorial and a great jumping off point. Within a hour or so of finishing a title based on this tut I had added full font controls, colour changing and symmetrical padding to the exported mogrt to make a very flexible title sequence, including a video background. Many thanks for your work.

Awesome tutorial - very thorough and easy to follow. With regards to the Lower Third graphic being justified and anchored to the bottom left of the screen, what expressions would you use to justify and anchor it to the bottom right corner? Thanks!

I appreciate that you always include the keyboard shortcuts SO much. I've used DaVinci Resolve for a couple of years (infrequently), but I've just started with Pr/Ae this month. Figuring out things like mogrt creation is so much different than using Fusion in Resolve ...but at the same time, the concepts are the same. Really good stuff here as I work on creating some custom lower thirds titles for work.

Thanks for the video, you left out an enormous amount when making the mogrt, like saving the change font type, size and opacity info as well as change colour and other vital info when making the mogrt. please put this in, it is one thing to design the artwork, it should be transferred to the mogrt correctly.

Very cool, thanks, but I have a question. How to make
an infinite title that can be changed in Premiere Pro without affecting the animation ? How to hold the animation of the in and out, but at the same time make the duration of the title infinite, being able to stretch the title in one direction and the other. For example, as in standard titles.

    • @dylanvoisard

All you need to do to make the image file replaceable is go into the "Background Image" precomp and drag/drop the image file there into the Essential Graphics panel. When you load the MOGRT into Premiere and go to the edit tab there will be a section with your image called "replace media"-just drag/drop whatever image you want from a folder on your computer into the replace media area and it will swap it out.

When I use this technique from ae to premiere through the essential graphics panel the animation looks really bad with poor resolution and misaligned text and graphics. When I direct link from ae to premiere the animation looks fine. Any way you can help to solve this problem?

Fantastic! I do have a question: The text and shape animate from the center out but I want my graphic to always be anchored to the left. I left aligned the text but how do I make this shape start at the same position, left aligned? I tried putting the anchor point of the shape on the left but I think I need to change something to the expression that tells the shape to respond to the text size but always start at a certain position (not centered as it is currently). Does anyone have input on this? Thank you!

Very instructional tutorial. Thank you for sharing! I created my MOGRT based inspired by this tutorial.
Now I'm creating a responsive MOGRT where the background shape layers behind the Speaker Name and the Speaker Title text resize depending on the width of each text layer (See link below).
However, what I need to accomplish now is how to make one shape layer match the width of the widest of the background shape layers. For example: IF the Speaker Name background shape (which is defined by the width of the Speaker Name text) is longer than the Speaker Title THEN the Speaker Title background shape should resize to match the width of the Speaker Name background shape. I also would like to do the opposite so that at all times both backgrounds are the same width depending if Speaker Name or Speaker Title are the longest of the two. I'm using AE 2023 on Mac.
Any guidance on how to successfully accomplish this would be most appreciated. Or any other suggestions on how to accomplish the same effect are also appreciated.
