I really like the reveal of Nijika's dream in the series. I think it's well done and, although her backstory is sad enough to get us invested in her character, it doesn't disrupt the tone of the scene.
In the manga, however, there's a special chapter dedicated to Nijika and Seika's backstory... and it destroyed me emotionally lol. Poor Doritos.

Episode 8 is what started the Bocchi hype, especially in Japan. A day
before this episode was aired the volume 5 of the manga was released and on it included a special chapter featuring Nijika & Seika's back story. Ilts a standalone chapter tie-in for episode 8. I guess the author anticipated that people would wonder why Nijika's
dream is very important to her and her sister. I suggest you read it as soon as possible while your impression of episode 8 is still fresh, reqd chapter 61 on manga
It's amazing how these shows can make us emotional. We really become invested in their lifes...all their hopes and fears....And I feel if it was live action...it wouldn't work as well...if at all....Anime has been able to capture emotions better than real life acting!..Which is a credit to the animators and VA's...I felt that in all the "slice of life" animes I've watched...Just don't want them to end.
yep totally agree! I do love love action shows too but there is just something about a great anime that gets you so emotionally attached 🥲
@@withneeks "Super Cub" really hit me.....I was surprised how much I got invested in it....What I feel really helped was the sound track....It's beautiful....it's amazing!......I am listening to it right now as I do house work..through headphones...and it has me in tears...and I am a 55 year old man..Though I am some what crippled by my emotions since losing my partner to cancer...so.......It does have some rather rock related tracks..which seem rather odd given the shows premise....They come out the blue on the OST..haha...But they are for a particular episode...But for the most part it is stunning..Not that I don't love rock...One of the best OST I have ever heard...even compared to movies...it's wonderful.
