Saw the pfp and pulled out the camera for worldstar😆 as a SI user I'm happy for both one for reliability, and one for the variations that can come with AI to get a little closer to real world applications. As a soon to be student pilot im hoping to use these programs to get better familiarized with the terminology and not memorizing but able to know what I want and what atc wants and how to respond, and I think these applications couldn't have come at a better time for me personally, thank you both for your determination and passion!

As a consumer and simmer, we want honesty from developers about their products. For me, you have done exactly that. I've not done Vatsim and it's a confidence thing. Beyond ATC will help me out massively in coming to grips with correct procedures and phraseology. So, with that said a huge well done for producing BeyondATC. As a software engineer myself, I do understand 100% what you have to deal with here. You took the correct decision not trying to decipher bad data. If your product is popular, source data will get corrected over time, which will benefit everyone for a greater future for the sim and other plugins.

This is exactly how an update to the public should be done. Clear info on what is done, what is still in progress, what is to be expected of the product, etc. Not hiding behind a couple of pics that don't really tell us anything.... (you know who you are). To solve the incomplete airport information, you should give us the ability to input information about the airport, like for example, if we know the airport is missing information, we can fill it in manually, export A/FDs or flight diagrams. If you're really need security, you can give us this ability, and then have beyondatc (your team) approve it. And if it gets approved you can make that information available for everyone! Seeing how this is an offline service, I wouldn't think it would affect any players.
Any of the ATC products out there have issues with bad data, so it's going to happen. I have been using SI and so far, it has worked great except for one flight. The advantage of AI is that you can request a change or tell them they are wrong, and they will correct. I don't think this is possible with a scripted program like this, but again, it really doesn't happen that often.
MSFS World Hub should be coming soon, which will allow for community sourced updates to airports within the simulator. If enough people contribute, that might fix the issue entirely! 😄
Total respect for all the developers of this great tool and others for MSFS. As a team member of BlueBird Simulations building the 757, a programmer and developer in my own right too, I know the amount of work, effort, resilience and patience that it takes to build some of these addons. I have watched BeyondATC grow over the last year or so and have thoroughly enjoyed the development and openness in your business model. As a simmer that does not have the time to take part in VATSIM because of my other commitments, BeyondATC is going to be a first day purchase for me. First off, Cap : Transparency is a HUGE factor to me, when it comes to how I feel about things / people. I'm just one out of MANY, who is extremely excited about getting my hands on this. 😃 Right now, I'm using SayIntentions, and honestly (and speaking of transparency), I love it!!! It's a GREAT product!! And to be clear : I'm NOT writing this, because Brian (I presume - but I could be wrong ofcourse) has commented on this video. 😂 And hey, it also has its bugs. That's part of the game, right? 😉 Maybe I'll prefer SayIntentions - and maybe I'll prefer BeyondATC. Some people prefer tea - and some people prefer coffee. Point is, it's always great with competition. It keeps us, as humans, on our toes. i think if you have navigraph and installed the latest data to the sim, beyond atc will take this as "default msfs" data. otherwiese it would be a 100% no go
That's exactly what it is. Whatever you have personally as your data, that's what beyond ATC will use. So if you have an old airac it uses that. Up to date? It uses that.
I have been simming since the '80s that used floppy disks. I feel blessed to be able to experience this next-generation technology. I feel just as excited today as I did back then.

Dude, I'm really impressed how you and the team listen to the users. The major example of this was the pricing model. You announced it, the users had A LOT to say about it and you pivoted accordingly. In this day and age that is impressive. I do find it sad that the MS ATC is so suckful that it requires an addon to fix, but you have done the job mightily.

I usually fly pretty simple routes with PMDG 737 from major airports to major airports.Just a casual pilot here. Not really looking for extreme detail or precise info,, just an alternative to the default ATC, so I'm really itching to get my hands on this!
Maybe I don’t understand everything, but it really sounds like you Should allow Navigraph integration like other utilities and programs. Kinda getting concerned where this is going now.
For me, BeyondATC is more than welcome, and I'm looking forward to using the early access. For those who say this product is nonsense and that VATSIM is the real thing, think again. There are people with disabilities or simply other reasons who prefer this. For myself, as an example, I can tell you that if you, like me, have become partially deaf and have to try to listen to fast speech (and some ATC controllers still make it a sport to speak as fast as possible), it becomes difficult and you quickly feel irritated, especially if you have to ask for a "say again" more than once. So for me, Beyond ATC is really a very welcome solution. A blessing, Thank You.

I must say Im impressed how your "linear" model is able to handle requests, emergencies etc. That was my biggest concern. Honesty and positivity are tremendous attributes that BeyondATC clearly displays. On top of that we have great community support from a competitor SayIntentionsAI. The two developers are fine examples to the industry. It sounds like a release is very close so my excitment is active.

This program really helps to learn the ATC in a special way. I am excited to see how it will work with Traffic AI. Hi, I just purchased it yesterday. From bottom of my heart Thank you lads. Incredible job. I flew in to JFK and got clearance for RW04L. I asked for RW04R and didn't work. I guess my phraseology was not correct. Or it's the same problem you were talking about in the end of this video. Anyway Thank you again. I was waiting for this since 2005 when I started with FS2002 haha😅. Only 19 years😂

Great video, answers a lot of questions. My only real concern is it not working at "certain" airports. Would be nice if there was a more useful fallback (rather than it refusing to work at all). Appreciate that it would take you away from a RW ATC script (temprarily).
Relating to the data incomplete issue; I can understand you don’t want users to get a mandatory Navigraph subscription, but I think the fact will be that the majority of future BATC customers do have a Navigraph subscription. So why not make it an option? For those that have a subscription and do get monthly AIRAC cycle updates, let them choose to use Navigraph as a datasource. And those that don’t have a subscription, let them use the stock scenery data with the risk of having some data incomplete.
Just a thought for future development. Not trying to Monday morning quarterback. But just like you get the standard voices for the one time price but can pay as you go for premium voices, what if you also have a pay as you go option for open ended questions and "deviations from the rails"? In my mind, thats the best of both worlds. Fixed price for "the rails", but also the added capabilities for those willing to pay for it for the one in a blue moon theyre looking to do something out of the norm. Keep doing what you guys are doing! Thanks for all the hard work!
I am SO happy you’ve stayed away from LLMs. An LLM based solution will have so many cool moments that you could edit into an amazing video. But it will also have a large series of catastrophic failure scenarios.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on this. I am a student pilot and have been out of the game a while, so I am trying to get my VFR callouts back up to snuff before gping back. Looking forward to that eventually! Good stuff.
What if the navigraph data fetching was an option, if you have a subscription you can made beyond atc grabbing data from there ? 🤔 obviously I’m looking this without knowing if it’s possible it’s just an idea

I planned a flight from VHHH 25L PECA1B to VTBS 19L EAST3C using the actual runways currently in use per Flight Radar 24. Generated the flightplan in Simbrief and imported into the aircraft. VHHH Ground then told me to taxi to 07L with a different SID. I thought BATC would follow the SimBrief flight plan but for some reason it wouldn't. Then after departure I tuned HKG Centre and got Bangkok Radar talking to me from 1,000nm+ distance before getting a prompt to tune HK Centre on the same frequency I was already tuned to.
Well done. You're coming at the "Early Access" as God intended, upfront and clear about what your product isn't (as opposed to blowing the balloon). Transparency to the community / userbase is massively underestimated these days - and that kills massive amount of ambitious and fantastic projects. Just keep it up beyond that initial release.
Both SI and BATC seem amazing so this will really be about cost for me. SI, at this time, is a bit too expensive for me but BATC will give me everything I need and at a more manageable price. Thanks for the letting us know what to expect. I can't wait for the early access!
You would’ve known if you watched to the end of the video ;) Yes, BATC supports VR, but there’s no VR UI yet, so you just use the PTT and hear the audio.
I knew, this info was already available on the website. I should have written my answer a bit more carefully. I was referring to a VR-friendly UI, to not raise false expectations. But thanks for pointing out.
regarding "ATC on Rails" Yes alot of people especially newcomers to Vatsim in particular seem to forget all ATC is doing is confirming and instructing what YOU filed 99% of the time. The reason why Aviation is so safe is because its a very predictable operation when everything works. Those who are struggling to read back a clearance? ATC is only reading what you filed. Nothing should be a surprise. Come prepared and stay ahead of the airplane equals "being on rails".
I am eagerly waiting for this first release of BeyondATC. I've been flight simming since 2000 and I've always been so frustrated by the two options we could get with FS: default AI ATC which is really too basic but can cover the whole World and VATSIM or IVAO which is more realistic but with a small World coverage and availability. It is very frustrating to be about to land and the tower ATC terminates just after the handover with the center and tells you to switch to UNICOM 😢
Just bought it today as FS was getting boring, even though GSX and FS2CREW added (some) immersion. I am stoked! Finally FS2020 is becoming enjoyable again! 🔥
Thanks for sharing this video. I really look forward to BATC but I will wait until it is complete. Without the traffic handling it is no option for me. I will stay with FSHud for the moment which received a big update recently and has really nice traffic handling.
While it doesn't use Navigraph data for airports, will this have problems if you do have a navigraph subscription? I do and update airac data across different systems, so I assume procedures etc will all still work correctly because MSFS will also have that knowledge and share it with BATC? I saw a comment about potentially giving people the choice of using navigraph data if they have it, I think having the option to use default OR Navigraph (for those that have a subscription) would be a great future idea for the roadmap
I think that not running those airports may be a mistake, you can always display a message showing that the airport will not work as intended and ask the user if he wants to still use the software is that airport. In my case i would like to try it even if it don't work correctly, i can even try to fix the data, airport, etc... What i'm afraid is that we may have to buy 3rd party airports to use BeyondATC. And a question, will it have a trial so we can test the product before buying it ? Since i live in Brazil $30 is not extremely expensive but for us it represents a lot more than $30 represent for someone who lives in the US for example.
very nice as someone who uses fs hud atc I really like your data handle way i cant say how many times the atc tell you a STAR and doesn't show on the plane fmc because of different data. i cant wait to see ai traffic update in the future
Just got this and did a flight from YBBN to YMML. Brilliant program, but got a glimpse of that bad data. Landed at YMML and ground informs me there's no gate large enough to cater for my aircraft and to taxi at my own discretion. YMML is payware airport and was using Fenix A320. Looking forward to things like this eventually getting fixed, otherwise it was a perfect flight with no glitches until the very end
Great information and great video. Can't wait to use it in my flights. SInce I do some career add-ons that take me to grass runways and such I expect I'll hit a lot more of those airports without data than many, but you'd not have ATC there anyway. As a tech guys myself I love kicking the tires so will love to see what happens and it when I do get to a good spot in my flight can I get partial ATC etc. To me the issues were obvious, but again it's because like other IT geeks that commented below, I understand the complexity more than someone without that background, but I think you are saving yourself a lot of headaches try to apologize for the unsolveable. I'd don't like a lot of videos on YT, but this one certainly deserved a big thumbs up.
I must say... you are sawing seeds of doubt here now. What if I buy BeyondATC and half the time it can't navigate an airport... did I waste my money? Is there a money back guarantee?
Dont buy it then. You have been warned and if you feel the risks of something getting messed up are too high, then i feel this is not the correct program for you.

I have been using BATC since it became available and find it to be a great product with great potential. Having said this, I would like to make a criticism on the design choice to use the SIDs and STARs contained in the airport, whether stock or third-party. I find it a decidedly limiting choice because in this way BATC (and SIMMER, too) remains totally dependent on the quality of the scenary. Since BATC imports the flight from Simbrief, why not just check the congruence of the runways with the proposed flight plan? What does it matter if the scenary has incorrect procedures or none at all? Why not trust Simbrief? 🤔

For me, BeyondATC is more than welcome, and I'm looking forward to using the early access. For those who say this product is nonsense and that VATSIM is the real thing, think again. There are people with disabilities or simply other reasons who prefer this. For myself, as an example, I can tell you that if you, like me, have become partially deaf and have to try to listen to fast speech (and some ATC controllers still make it a sport to speak as fast as possible), it becomes difficult and you quickly feel irritated, especially if you have to ask for a "say again" more than once. So for me, Beyond ATC is really a very welcome solution. A blessing, Thank You.

This video is so important to create an understanding of what challenges you are facing. I must say Im impressed how your "linear" model is able to handle requests, emergencies etc. That was my biggest concern. I think a video on the challenges to integrate AI traffic would be a good next video after a launch video.

Honesty and positivity are tremendous attributes that BeyondATC clearly displays. On top of that we have great community support from a competitor SayIntentionsAI. The two developers are fine examples to the industry. It sounds like a release is very close so my excitment is active.

This program really helps to learn the ATC in a special way. I am excited to see how it will work with Traffic AI. Hi, I just purchased it yesterday. From bottom of my heart Thank you lads. Incredible job. I flew in to JFK and got clearance for RW04L. I asked for RW04R and didn't work. I guess my phraseology was not correct. Or it's the same problem you were talking about in the end of this video. Anyway Thank you again. I was waiting for this since 2005 when I started with FS2002 haha😅. Only 19 years😂

Relating to the data incomplete issue; I can understand you don’t want users to get a mandatory Navigraph subscription, but I think the fact will be that the majority of future BATC customers do have a Navigraph subscription. So why not make it an option? For those that have a subscription and do get monthly AIRAC cycle updates, let them choose to use Navigraph as a datasource. And those that don’t have a subscription, let them use the stock scenery data with the risk of having some data incomplete.
Definitely - those of us who happily pay to use Navigraph will be virtually guaranteed to fork over 30 bucks for BATC.
Just a thought for future development. Not trying to Monday morning quarterback. But just like you get the standard voices for the one time price but can pay as you go for premium voices, what if you also have a pay as you go option for open ended questions and "deviations from the rails"?
In my mind, thats the best of both worlds. Fixed price for "the rails", but also the added capabilities for those willing to pay for it for the one in a blue moon theyre looking to do something out of the norm.

I am SO happy you’ve stayed away from LLMs. An LLM based solution will have so many cool moments that you could edit into an amazing video. But it will also have a large series of catastrophic failure scenarios.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on this. I am a student pilot and have been out of the game a while, so I am trying to get my VFR callouts back up to snuff before gping back. Looking forward to that eventually! Good stuff.
What if the navigraph data fetching was an option, if you have a subscription you can made beyond atc grabbing data from there ? 🤔 obviously I’m looking this without knowing if it’s possible it’s just an idea

I planned a flight from VHHH 25L PECA1B to VTBS 19L EAST3C using the actual runways currently in use per Flight Radar 24. Generated the flightplan in Simbrief and imported into the aircraft. VHHH Ground then told me to taxi to 07L with a different SID. I thought BATC would follow the SimBrief flight plan but for some reason it wouldn't. Then after departure I tuned HKG Centre and got Bangkok Radar talking to me from 1,000nm+ distance before getting a prompt to tune HK Centre on the same frequency I was already tuned to.
Well done. You're coming at the "Early Access" as God intended, upfront and clear about what your product isn't (as opposed to blowing the balloon). Transparency to the community / userbase is massively underestimated these days - and that kills massive amount of ambitious and fantastic projects. Just keep it up beyond that initial release.
It's a instant buy for me. Has to be better then what I am currently using at a affordable price.
Both SI and BATC seem amazing so this will really be about cost for me. SI, at this time, is a bit too expensive for me but BATC will give me everything I need and at a more manageable price. Thanks for the letting us know what to expect. I can't wait for the early access!

Yes, BATC supports VR, but there’s no VR UI yet, so you just use the PTT and hear the audio.
I knew, this info was already available on the website. I should have written my answer a bit more carefully. I was referring to a VR-friendly UI, to not raise false expectations. But thanks for pointing out.
regarding "ATC on Rails" Yes alot of people especially newcomers to Vatsim in particular seem to forget all ATC is doing is confirming and instructing what YOU filed 99% of the time. The reason why Aviation is so safe is because its a very predictable operation when everything works. Those who are struggling to read back a clearance? ATC is only reading what you filed. Nothing should be a surprise. Come prepared and stay ahead of the airplane equals "being on rails".

I am eagerly waiting for this first release of BeyondATC. I've been flight simming since 2000 and I've always been so frustrated by the two options we could get with FS: default AI ATC which is really too basic but can cover the whole World and VATSIM or IVAO which is more realistic but with a small World coverage and availability. It is very frustrating to be about to land and the tower ATC terminates just after the handover with the center and tells you to switch to UNICOM 😢

I would much rather know "when" to expect BeyondATC. Been following it for what seems like years by now.
While it doesn't use Navigraph data for airports, will this have problems if you do have a navigraph subscription? I do and update airac data across different systems, so I assume procedures etc will all still work correctly because MSFS will also have that knowledge and share it with BATC? I saw a comment about potentially giving people the choice of using navigraph data if they have it, I think having the option to use default OR Navigraph (for those that have a subscription) would be a great future idea for the roadmap
I think that not running those airports may be a mistake, you can always display a message showing that the airport will not work as intended and ask the user if he wants to still use the software is that airport.
In my case i would like to try it even if it don't work correctly, i can even try to fix the data, airport, etc...
What i'm afraid is that we may have to buy 3rd party airports to use BeyondATC.
And a question, will it have a trial so we can test the product before buying it ? Since i live in Brazil $30 is not extremely expensive but for us it represents a lot more than $30 represent for someone who lives in the US for example.

very nice as someone who uses fs hud atc I really like your data handle way i cant say how many times the atc tell you a STAR and doesn't show on the plane fmc because of different data. i cant wait to see ai traffic update in the future
Just got this and did a flight from YBBN to YMML. Brilliant program, but got a glimpse of that bad data. Landed at YMML and ground informs me there's no gate large enough to cater for my aircraft and to taxi at my own discretion. YMML is payware airport and was using Fenix A320. Looking forward to things like this eventually getting fixed, otherwise it was a perfect flight with no glitches until the very end

Great information and great video. Can't wait to use it in my flights. SInce I do some career add-ons that take me to grass runways and such I expect I'll hit a lot more of those airports without data than many, but you'd not have ATC there anyway. As a tech guys myself I love kicking the tires so will love to see what happens and it when I do get to a good spot in my flight can I get partial ATC etc. To me the issues were obvious, but again it's because like other IT geeks that commented below, I understand the complexity more than someone without that background, but I think you are saving yourself a lot of headaches try to apologize for the unsolveable. I'd don't like a lot of videos on YT, but this one certainly deserved a big thumbs up.

Dont buy it then. You have been warned and if you feel the risks of something getting messed up are too high, then i feel this is not the correct program for you.

I have been using BATC since it became available and find it to be a great product with great potential.
Having said this, I would like to make a criticism on the design choice to use the SIDs and STARs contained in the airport, whether stock or third-party.
I find it a decidedly limiting choice because in this way BATC (and SIMMER, too) remains totally dependent on the quality of the scenary.
Since BATC imports the flight from Simbrief, why not just check the congruence of the runways with the proposed flight plan?
What does it matter if the scenary has incorrect procedures or none at all? Why not trust Simbrief? 🤔
