In this speedrun explained, we break down an Any% speedrun of the original BioShock (sorry, not the remastered version). This run is performed by KPCzombie, one of the top runners for the game. This run includes ways to skip doors, cutscenes, and even entire levels. Sorry, but there’s no ADAM duplication glitch used in this run! This video serves as an explanation of the strategies used by KPC to beat BioShock in under 29 minutes.
    #BioShock #Speedrun
The first fling in the run, which saves ten seconds, is specifically called “YOLO fling” since it was a known about fling, but it wasn’t done in runs due to its difficulty. KPC was on a run that was pretty much dead and decided to say YOLO and try the fling since he knew about it, and ended up getting it first try. This led to him pulling the run back to be a world record, making the fling just become part of the route. Gotta love glitches and moments like that in speedruns/speedrunning.

I find it helpful to record the small joys of good days in my journal to look back on - the memory of watching a cute bumblebee do it's thing can be a really nice reminder that life may be full of awful horrible garbage people, but that doesn't mean it doesn't also contain beauty and joy and some really cute bugs. I have never watched any of your videos before, but decided to when it popped onto my recommended randomly. I was really enjoying the video and then you hit me with a really touching few words about being in a rough place. My mom and grandmother passed away this January within the same week, and slowly I’ve been trying to move on, but I still get small memories that make me feel back at square one. I really appreciate you including that in the video, as I felt like it really spoke to me even though it was just a general few words. Thank you.

Tomatoanus, I know you probably get hundreds of comments a day on this, but thank you for your positive words. Just hearing "It'll be okay" I find to just not be the same emotionally reinforcing as remembering the world the will go on, and we will all be a part of it. It just makes the terrible times feel so much smaller than they are in the moment, so again just thank you for giving us that message like always.

The idea of speed-running Bioshock breaks my heart a little bit, it's like speed running a trip to the museum or watching Phantom of the Opera at 2x. (Obviously I am not a speed runner, I'm just a little bit of a Bioshock fanatic.)

(Infinite's any% route in particular has the hilarious side effect of skipping the rather tasteless "Raffle" and "Wounded Knee" segments of the game, leaving the player with just Booker DeWitt's Salt-Fueled Jailbreak as context for most of the route's story lol.)
