- After receiving the water tank back from the welder, it was time to install it and redo the plumbing. Things did not work out exactly the way we wanted it to.
After the install, we filled out the water and found out that the welds was still leaking. So we had to seal it up with some sealant.
We let the Tri we loaded the motorcycles and the rest of our gear into the truck so they were ready to head to New Hampshire

Honestly should have put in the hard plastic tanks.
So much easier to deal with but will have to change everything. Worth it in the long run.
Good job, although I would like to have the fittings a tad longer
I could always put nipples in them to extend them out
Don’t know where Laconia is on your list for good events but hopefully it will be a great success for you. Safe travels.
Fingers crossed!, It’s typically not one of our better events. And it’s a really far drive for a lower revenue show.
I can't believe the welding shop didn't test the tank before sending it out....
I should’ve checked it myself when it was in the back of my truck as I washed it out. Sometimes I’m a moron too.
❤❤❤ drive safe take care❤❤❤
See ya there ! We will be in town Thursday afternoon!!!
Sounds good see you then
I was saying to myself last week that it needs to be pressure tested after the repair.
Yeah, I knew that too, I was just impressed with his welds that I thought I could trust them
Just a suggestion using dielectric unions at the tank will allow you to disconnect and re connect the tank with ease . Just a suggestion. Hope the goop holds.
Thank you for the suggestion
Good morning y'all
Good morning!
Have a safe trip. I’m hoping to meet you at Laconia. I’m heading out this Saturday, only about 3 1/2 hour drive.
Sounds good, Greg, we’ll see you when you get here
Sucks the weld did not take all the way. Have a safe trip. I hope to be in Laconia but not done on my bike yet. Almost!
Safe travels unfortunately we’re not going to make it this year look forward to the videos bud
Sorry to hear that, sir, maybe we’ll catch up next time
How is it going?. splendid trip!have a good day!)
So far so good
Safe trip guys and gals
Thank you, sir
Bummer on the tank, but safe travels!!, Odd how going to a rally to work is gonna feel like getting some rest? It appears that way at least from the outside looking in with all the chainsaw work going on.
Stuff happens... when water is involved and welds gladvya got a temporary fix for Goliath keep us informed we like realizing we not the only ones STUFF happens to lop sorry but not really it gives you content to give us and you don't always get things done correctly the way you believe it will go... thx again Adam and crew
Well hind sight all ways 20/20 I say next time you get that tank re welded get you a couple of plugs and fill it up and test it before you re install it I've always done things twice to some things three or four times good video Adam and crew safe travel s and keep them engine s running thanks for sharing your videos with us
Seems like very few things go as planned with me. Especially this last-minute stuff.
Yeah, I know it should’ve done that this time too
3 hole in Laconia
Sounds good
Damn Adam im guessing the welder never pressurized the tank before giving it back that sux, but great vid buddy drive safe cant wait for the upcoming vids.
No, and I thought that I should have as well. But I looked at his welds and they looked really really good so I was confident that it was fine. I should’ve known better.
that shouldnt have been your job just saying
would have been a good test for flex seal
The 3M moreen sealant is a much tougher product
Great video Adam sucks about the leak but hopefully the marine techs you put on it can slow it down. Glad to see the trailer all loaded up and everything else ready for your trip to Laconia safe travels Adam and Katie and Talon.
Yeah, fingers are crossed that the sealant does its job. It was such a minor leak. I don’t see why it would not.
Have a good trip Adam & Katie...looking forward to the road trip!
Thanks so much!
Have a good trip up to Laconia looking forward to stopping in and saying Hi!!
Thanks, Eric, looking forward to seeing you again
Adam, while looking at the picture or the welds you can clearly see the weld with no sealant on the right has pin holes/porosity on the surface, not sure what you were charged but anything over free was too much, not sure how that place is even in business. I have been welding for over 40 years the last 5 as a side hustle. I don’t understand how they did not at a minimum dye check or even fill the tank with water. My apologies. Tom
You never weld a water tank..or any other tank without a pressure test after cooling.. not in my shop
I thought his welds looked pretty good, there was just one spot on the bottom where the tank was thin and he tried to fill it the best they could. It did not get pressure checked because I was there to pick it up the second he finished welding it. In fact, he welded in another bung for me while I was standing there waiting. I knew damn well that I should have put plugs in the holes and at least fill the tank halfway to make sure that those were good, but that’s my fault
@@amsoiladam Time constraints get in the way of good intentions sometimes.. you are forgiven
👍👍
Adam have you ever tried flex seal, I've had really good luck using it to stop leaks.
I have used it for some roof repairs and other things. But for this, I wanted something a little bit stronger and more durable and that 3M stuff is like flexseal on steroids.
Brilliant video looking forward to these trips. Just feels like I’m there thanks 👍👍
Quite a few travel, Vlogs will be coming up through the summer. We will be on the road nonstop from now through August or at least most of August.
Safe travels!
Bung ok I said it 😂 where you going to be at Laconia?
We are set up at the New Hampshire motor Speedway
Hey Adam, where are you going to be located at Laconia for a bike service?
We are set up at the New Hampshire motor, Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire
Why you did not go with plastic tank?
Because stainless steel is definitely better than plastic in my opinion, and that tank was custom built to fit in its hole. There’s no way I was going to find somebody last-minute notice the manufacturer plastic tank for me to fit in a hole and no other RV uses.
Weird question. Do you go through CT on 95 or bypass southern New England through NY? Wouldn't blame you if you did the latter.
We take 81 to Scranton, Pennsylvania, and then 84 E. It’s just a better truck route
@@amsoiladam construction all over 84 some overnight, be safe.
Let me change the piping but I'll leave that stale rotten wood inside of their. It seems like everything you do in life is half-assed😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t know what rotten wood you’re talking about.
👍👍
