Just seen a black Bear run across the hiway 87 N. Just past the 260 W. Top of the Hill spotted 3 Times same area over the year's... one with snow on the Ground was playing in it tearing down an oak tree..
Is the Department going to do a review study on why units 27 and unit 1 big game species counts have diminished drastically in the past forty years. For example, unit 27 used to have two fall hunts for any antlered deer with over three thousand tags for the first hunt and over four thousand tags for the later hunt. Today the harvest limits are just a few hundred for all hunts with deer being split into two species. This is becoming an issue in units 27 and 28 with many hybrids being sighted due to interbreeding. I'm sure the department is aware of this but I've seen Couse deer with the whitetail rack and the mule deer black patch on the forehead as well as a broad whitetail tail. I have my own thoughts on the diminishing game opportunities in these units but I would like to hear what the department has to say about the situation.
