Thanks for the advice. I'm pre op, going for my endoscopy next week and that's my final clearance. I'm hoping to get a date for surgery in the beginning of march. Also thanks for introducing me to chicken sausage. I'm loving it!

Glad you mentioned the expense...I'm struggling with clothes, bras and underwear. Healthy food is not cheap, but, yes...we eat so much less! There are even unexpected expenses...gym memberships/ exercise equipment, supplements that you never anticipated for low labs, constipation, etc, blood glucose monitor or blood pressure monitor, etc.

That's great advise! I've heard others say some of the same things they experience post op. But each of us are different so it's good to get the scoop from more than just one person's perspective.

Absolutely. That's why I fell in love with the WLS UA-cam community--getting to hear such a wide variety of perspectives really helped me manage my expectations.

The surgeon is trying to sell himself. After going to a seminar I learned that pretty quick. It’s like you HAVE to shop around. If you live in a big city you’ll have many many options. I live in Miami Florida and I’ve decided to get the gastric sleeve. Luckily I have many options but I already chose who’s my surgeon. Monday they give me the date of the operation 😌

I k ow tbis was 3 years ago i had my surgery about the same time and i have to disagree about the surgeon thing mine was never trying to sell them selfs to me if anything it was complete opposite and i still too this day can see my surgeon and nutrition person and other follow up doctors in the clinic for life free of charge this is were u rely need to do your research as your reg doc and any other doctor that does not have any training in this surgery is going to give u wrong advice on things u need in nutrition and vitamins along with which type of meds you can have and take and with out the proper info could rely affect your life and future this is def a forever thing and u will need blood work drawn every 6.-12 mo to make sure u are meeting your body’s needs and tbis can become extreme expensive and most family physicians will not approve as they will not deem Necessary and if they do they will not know all the blood test you need and over half that u do need may not get done there is so much she has bot even mentioned in here that u should also learn about when meeting with your surgeon if they do not let u know these things or do not have a follow up for life after surgery keep looking there is good ones and bad ones out there this is not something to just jump into because u want it eight now or just found a surgeon that takes your medical ins and if u have to travel a few hours away to get a good surgeon it is well worth it
