I actually listened to the podcast and thought he explained things very well, sure there are things people have reasonable objections to, but the outright hatred for this man seems unwarranted

Despite a wealth of evidence pointing to the dangers of the Covid vaccines, Dr. Fauci and Gates have persisted in their promotion of them, relying upon a combination of fearmongering and pseudoscience to convince the masses of their supposed efficacy. In the process, they have neglected the welfare of countless individuals, perpetuating a cycle of harm that will continue to spiral out of control unless immediate action is taken. As we navigate this uncharted territory, it is imperative that we remain vigilant and question the motives of those who would purport to have all the answers. The Covid vaccines may have seemed like a beacon of hope in the midst of a storm, but as it turns out, they are but a mirage, a mere illusion that will eventually be shattered by the cold, hard truth. The Covid pandemic, a scourge that has plagued the world for over a year, has given rise to a desperate search for a cure. In the rush to find a solution, vaccines were developed and fast-tracked through the approval process, with the hope of bringing an end to the pandemic's grip on humanity. However, the dawn of this new era has brought with it a darker reality. Numerous reports of excess deaths and severe adverse reactions have surfaced, casting a shadow of doubt over the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. The names of Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates, and Lex Fridman, have become synonymous with the development and promotion of Covid vaccines. Fauci, the renowned immunologist, has been at the forefront of the fight against Covid, providing the public with the latest information and guidance on the pandemic. Gates, the billionaire philanthropist, has been a vocal advocate for widespread vaccination, using his influence and resources to promote the cause. Fridman, a renowned AI researcher, has added his voice to the conversation, providing insightful perspectives on the future of healthcare and technology. However, despite their well-intentioned efforts, the safety and efficacy of the Covid vaccines remain a matter of intense debate and scrutiny. The fast-tracked approval process and the limited testing data have led to concerns over the long-term effects of the vaccines, while the reports of excess deaths and adverse reactions continue to mount. The fear and uncertainty surrounding the Covid vaccines have led to a growing distrust of the medical establishment and its motives. The voices of dissent are growing louder, as the public demands answers and accountability for the consequences of this new era of medicine. In conclusion, the Covid pandemic has brought to light the complexities of modern medicine and the delicate balance between progress and caution. The contribution of Fauci, Gates, and Fridman to the development and promotion of the Covid vaccines is undeniable, but the final verdict on their safety and efficacy remains to be seen. The road ahead is uncertain, but one thing is clear, the journey to a Covid-free world is far from over. chatgpt

Stupid argument for lazy people. Just because someone benefits does not equate to their culpability or guilt. Sorry, real adults have to do more than simply find out who is getting paid to cure diseases or fix problems.
I don't know much about Sam Harris, but he is dead-on here. The most important part of wisdom is knowing what you don't know. Intellectual honesty and humility are paramount.
I wrote on a different Lex Clip criticizing Sam. However, this one was completely reasonable and well articulated so credit to him and Lex for the ping pong of good and evolving discussion. I don’t care for eloquence and am not swayed by flowery language so although a number of commenters have said it’s because he’s well spoken that’s irrelevant to my updated opinion. Cheerio :)
Sam is always a better option than Joe Rogan and Bert Weinstein . Joe likes to "ask questions" and loves that crazy shit that is not true - might be true - just for entertainment value. Bert is a total scammer that tricks people into thinking he may be actually qualified to talk on subjects he is not.
Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make Mistake but they don’t quit... As the economic crisis keep rising, we literally need to have different streams of income. The crypto market has plenty opportunities to earn a decent Payouts with the right skills and proper Understanding of how the market works.
Yeah you're absolutely right..... Lots of people are still making massive profits from the stock and crypto market, all you really need is some relevant information and some professional advice. It is totally inappropriate for investors to stand by as they take dips during significant market diclinism
@@natashamirian1974 A good investment requires experience and knowledge to carry out a successful operation. Professionally, it is recommended to trade with experienced brokers, who can help you increase your profits while helping you learn the trade
Well I invest with a top trader Investor Ashton Edwards you might have heard of him.. I can correctly say he's the best top trader in the world, an investment advisor as his diversification skills are great, I say this because i see that in his results as my portfolio grows by averages of 25% to 35% on a weekly basis, unlike i can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along. my portfolio just mirrors what he place and not just on some particular industries of my choosing. He gave me that financial freedom I needed
@@natashamirian1974 Honestly I really need help with learning how to trade. Seeing my portfolio low makes me very sad. Please do you mind sharing any means of reaching out to him easily?
Such a strong debate and Lex cracks in toilet paper. I both enjoyed it and felt conflicted because I went from serious to humor. Maybe we all need to return to this state. Never change Lex.
So, what he is saying is that we should stop thinking for ourselves and listen to and accept whatever the “experts” tell us? If the “experts” are clean, virtuous and honest maybe but, in today’s world, trust the “experts” at your own risk. I thought Lex’s comments were much more consequential.
It seems like you don't know what the word "consequential" means. Are you just trying to sound like the people you've been convinced know what they're talking about?
Yeah man next time when its the Spanish flue or worse we'll be sure to let you looney toons stay out there! be a great way to help the gene pool get smarter, just be a shame when you bring your kids into it but hey thems the breaks
The fact that you are 20 other folks think this is somehow a flex comment...I can't really think of anything in history that is 100% absent of "we thought it was right at the time but looking back..." Heck, even things like D-Day, I have read how they really would have liked to do a few things differently. But you are in a situation, you make a call. Looking back, it may have not been the best call. But that doesn't matter. I know, lUlZ BruH LuLZ!!
@@jasonOfTheHills Yes, I agree. It baffles me how people don't make an effort to understand something simple as that. For example, even in my career looking back, I did lot of things wrong and few things right. Now in retrospect, I wish I had done it differently. But at that time,I it was sensible and correct thing to do given the information and the guide I had early in my career.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that he was compromised by CIA or FBI to be a propagandist for them. Or he could just truly be very unintelligent. Hard to say.
the more i listen to what sam is really saying, the more i believe that i just may have found someone (celebrity) that i agree with not 85% or 95% but 100%.
I find it funny the main arguement against Sam Harris is the ad hominem attack "he thinks he knows everything". No contrarians actually attacking his arguments!
Even for the things he's wrong about, Sam is the one being great at Bayesian reasoning, adjusting his priors based on evidence. Instead, the contrarians count the hits where they were right and forget the misses. They chalk up major wins to nothing but coin flip guesses whenever they turn out to be correct; which is the very opposite of Bayseian reasoning when there is limited knowledge.
There's a lot of insane straw men in these comments too. One of the first ones was "Sam admires the governing style of North Korea and would prefer it if he had the choice." Oh, what a mic drop!
@@rsia08 sam is not a bad person. This is the problem, everyone demonizing each other. There is some good in the worst of us and bad in the best of us. Sam though, does have opinions on covid and vaccines that the average person is fed up with. And that's okay. The people should speak up wherever they see fit, because we are silenced daily.
@Schindlers Redemption I agree. Although see what I wrote above on Bayesian reasoning in regards to Sam's thoughts about Covid and the vaccines. He's constantly under assault for things he has clearly stated are based upon limited collective knowledge, and that he's willing to change his mind. He thinks like a scientist, yet people straw man his views into him thinking like a dogmatic politician.
"believe the experts even after repeatedly demonstrated to be unreliable lying profiteers" is self evidently unreasonable advice and unworthy of respect nor argument.
Should we all take a hit for the weakest members of society? How about for the wilfully unhealthy? Should children risk their health to minimize risk of the elderly?
Listening to Sam, its hard to imagine him as a kid in his 20s in Nepal on a rowboat on a lake at night tripping balls on acid, as he describes in ch5 of Waking Up.
Identity politics is the new religion, and Sam needs the Kool-Aid. It is his right to believe in something greater than himself-the official experts who control our lives.
I have no fears about the immediate impact of the vaccines. I have been concerned from the beginning about our policies and responses from the virus's emergence to the release of the vaccines. The negative consequences of the lockdowns are abundant. Sam's question about future responses is important. An objective review is necessary to answer the following: Is a complete shutdown of society and our economy ever justified when a novel virus emerges? Did officials knowingly exaggerate the potential harm of the virus in order to justify the lockdowns? How should we judge/examine the recommendations of experts and officials when they are likely to benefit personally, politically, or financially from the results of their recommendations? How do we balance the benefits to some group of people versus the harm to others when they become evident especially now when we know the good and bad of interventions have not been spread fairly?
- "Is a complete shutdown of society and our economy ever justified when a novel virus emerges?" If the virus can cause more harm to society and our economy than a shutdown then unquestionably yes. - "Did officials knowingly exaggerate the potential harm of the virus in order to justify the lockdowns?" No, they downplayed the potential harm so that they could half ass the lockdowns, making them ineffective. And at that point I'd suggest not doing lockdowns at all. Either whole ass the lockdowns or not at all IMO.
The ones that allowed thousands of people to riot during Covid unscreened. The many Dems that supported thousands of illegals to cross our borders unscreened were total HYPOCRITES
This is the Lex Clips channel, this channel is meant to highlight all meaningful conversations of interest to people from the recent podcasts, the main channel would be more your speed
I've had medical professionals fail me all my life. But I appreciate dentists, antibiotics, certain inoculations. In the end one can only judge individuals. At some point one give their own authority to another based on their own authority
@@jumpinjohnnyruss probably safer to assume they’re just intellectually lazy for not pointing anything in particular out, than intentionally trying to distort reality (i.e. lying)
He used to be on the "intellectual dark web" with a lot of far right conspiracy loons. When he started criticizing Trump he lots a lot of friends on that side and his audience turned against him. They're still salty that Sam is (and always was) a liberal. Now he spends a lot of time dismissing or debunking their wildest conspiracy theories which aggravates them even more.
When an entire system is captured under the threat of expulsion from that system that a person has spent half their life trying to learn in, that's a problem. Sam is so narrow minded and compartmentalized in his thinking. I feel like Lex dropped the ball on this interview. He just sits there and allows Sam to go on and on without pointing out problems that all of us face in the systems he speaks of.
The moderator of this discussion makes several statements that imply that he is grossly misinformed. Is he uneducated, or should another moderator simply take his place?
Alex ....this individual bealive that " the train " is going to better place ....Not extermination camps.........is no way to convince ..They belive truly that the showers is for cleaning not for Gas..............
The powers that be applied a very basic but effective strategy. You ramp up the fear and offer a way out. It’s funny because that was the modus operandi of religion for centuries. You would think Sam would know the drill since he’s an expert on deconstructing religion.
I’m so glad there is someone like Sam to keep dumb people like me from killing myself or other people constantly. What a relief….wait a minute…is “relief” the right word?
I read the comments first, and knew KNEW that Sam had touched on this topic - the egos of many people outweigh their common sense and certainly their intellect because experience and expertise matters from a utility and a risk based perspective. We saw this especially during this pandemic where the impact - the folly associated with the average person making decisions that they amplified across the internet with "like minded" individuals resulting in huge amounts of pain and suffering and death that did not have to occur.
Big pharma and medical malpractice causes too many deaths to ignore. Covid 99% recoverable. Pure blood no worries about side effects. It is and never was a vaccine. Only fools believe big Pharma, media and government don’t lie. Never mind the $$green line. Sam has cognizant dissidents because of Trump arrangement syndrome. It drives his mind. Sam is so disgusting and not convincing.
Sam Harris was wrong and if the few of us dissenters listened to him even more people would have died. He was wrong and supported decisions that led to more illness and suffering. He should acknowledge that he was wrong and that he was part of the problem that led to more suffering and death. Why can't he acknowledge that he was wrong and Bret / Eric were right on this subject? He loses credibility.
If Sam got cancer I highly recommend he speaks to cancer victims. Like a lot of cancer patients do. They can help with treatment, your family and common sense in what to come. So doctors help but so do people who have it. It's not just experts you should check with. So that example isn't the best. Also Sam named right wing cults but the left wing cults of woke, BLM and antifa he left out. Sam has gone biased and passed reason. But I've seen it with all the podcasters. Tbh Rogen and Lex at least have a mix the most. Also if there is another pandemic we've learnt a lot like vulnerability studies like age are important, we need to know straight away where this came from, tbh Sam should realise that the world did lock down so if there is a deadly pathogen that kills kids the world did ok even with such a financial cost. Then the last one about Kayne I think Lex did well. It's easy for Sam to say that after the podcast. Now most people think Kayne has a huge ego and we saw the real Kanye at that time, someone suffering. That's all I saw. I liked Sam but he's bitter more and more.
Yes. 🧠z Matter. POLL Mii! Yes, Make Sure IM.Informed & What My Opinion is On Many Things... Not That U Have to Listen to; PPL. Do U HEAR Them, Tho? Johnny Boss
Sam has a little baby brain version of the world where experts all arrive at their own conclusions and decide for themselves whether the information they take in is correct, so if 97% of experts arrive at the same conclusion that indicates to Sam something other than where the majority consensus is at that moment. Unfortunately, he is pretentious and wrong. You would be lucky if 3% of doctors are thinking for themselves about anything.
“Can we fight a new war with the Nazis when everyone with an iPhone can video bodies of little girls from us dropping bombs”. - Sam really just advocated censorship because we can’t have people showing the horrors of war. Seriously and Lex talks about Sam’s “Empathy”?
The truth lies in ancient history 30,000+ of research I'm an expert , this guy has very little idea but I'm forgiving and will give him a chance to learn as you all did4 me . Papa's back 🐉🦁
He sees the war in Ukraine the same way as he sees COVID.. because we have experts we can listen to. Thats true on COVID.. but in the western world, we do NOT have unbiased experts on this war (or other wars) that will tell us the truth.
There was so much misinformation from the top from the very beginning of COVID that it became impossible for anyone to be an expert. The Wuhan lab deleted all their data, the Chinese lied and obfuscated at every step, and US health officials prioritized conspiring to cover up their own misdeeds over the public well being. In this setting, one learns quickly to be skeptical of anyone claiming to be an expert.
The “experts” that deluged the news feeds got very little right. The experts that were silenced predicted everything we are seeing today. I suspect the same is happening on the war front as well. Follow the money. We are witnessing war crimes in real time.
It’s important not to take what Sam says too seriously. The sun shines out of his sphincter. He walks above us. Yet, he was and is a complete Covid con job fool. He should stick to telling people to breath deeper.
Great analogy - plane going down, pilot and crew wiped out. Do you want a passenger who is trained in aviation/piloting to step in - or Joe Rogan and Bert Weintein who met a guy with some really interesting ideas on how to land a plane that contradict all known and widely accepted methods?
the more i listen to what sam is really saying, the more i believe that i just may have found someone (celebrity) that i agree with not 85% or 95% but 100%.

Brett got a third opinion and it's looking like he got it right.
He wasn't right about the vaccines being ineffective
I don't know much about Sam Harris, but he is dead-on here. The most important part of wisdom is knowing what you don't know. Intellectual honesty and humility are paramount.
A 1hr "clip"...
👌😂
Yes, it had to be clipped from the 5 hour podcast.
I think Harris should just talk about religion and free will. He's become quite tedious and pedestrian about eveything else.
His political ideology renders him a walking, talking hypocrite.
Yes!!!!!!!! What a hack!
Don't bother thinking for yourself with your life and your family's life guys, people like sam harris can think for you 😊
Don't bother thinking for yourself when you have Fox News, Alex Jones, Daily Wire and the IDW to tell you what to think.

In summary, it's Trumps fault.
He really said they were wrong but it didn’t matter at the time. Lmao

Sam was a huge disappointment through covid.
Excellently argued.
Sam is clearly receiving $$$ for his position on COVID.
I think that this may be exactly right
Or he really is this stupid.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that he was compromised by CIA or FBI to be a propagandist for them. Or he could just truly be very unintelligent. Hard to say.
He's the Chief Propagandist Officer. CPO.
Moronic. I hate Sam but this is just deranged.
Lex! Thanks for what you do ! love from Iran. You are inspiring
the more i listen to what sam is really saying, the more i believe that i just may have found someone (celebrity) that i agree with not 85% or 95% but 100%.
Here’s the problem - neither do many experts. I don’t personally know a single medical expert who reads research. We need AI
Sam has some Splainin to do. Disappointment runs deep with him.
Anyway
Should we all take a hit for the weakest members of society? How about for the wilfully unhealthy? Should children risk their health to minimize risk of the elderly?
Listening to Sam, its hard to imagine him as a kid in his 20s in Nepal on a rowboat on a lake at night tripping balls on acid, as he describes in ch5 of Waking Up.
Identity politics is the new religion, and Sam needs the Kool-Aid. It is his right to believe in something greater than himself-the official experts who control our lives.
How about two equally qualified experts that disagree?
We are the ultimate experts and final authorities as to what is injected into our bodies.
39:54 What podcast is Sam talking about here?
Sam sure likes to talk
"not a matter of bad people doing bad things" -- a matter of bad people covering up bad things and then profiting.
Hey! There’s way too much thinking going on in these comments. Y’all need to stop immediately
Insulting someone's IQ or speech pattern is not "too much thinking".
I have no fears about the immediate impact of the vaccines. I have been concerned from the beginning about our policies and responses from the virus's emergence to the release of the vaccines. The negative consequences of the lockdowns are abundant. Sam's question about future responses is important. An objective review is necessary to answer the following:
Is a complete shutdown of society and our economy ever justified when a novel virus emerges?
Did officials knowingly exaggerate the potential harm of the virus in order to justify the lockdowns?
How should we judge/examine the recommendations of experts and officials when they are likely to benefit personally, politically, or financially from the results of their recommendations?
How do we balance the benefits to some group of people versus the harm to others when they become evident especially now when we know the good and bad of interventions have not been spread fairly?
- "Is a complete shutdown of society and our economy ever justified when a novel virus emerges?"
If the virus can cause more harm to society and our economy than a shutdown then unquestionably yes.
- "Did officials knowingly exaggerate the potential harm of the virus in order to justify the lockdowns?"
No, they downplayed the potential harm so that they could half ass the lockdowns, making them ineffective. And at that point I'd suggest not doing lockdowns at all. Either whole ass the lockdowns or not at all IMO.
"I will not take the vaccine if Trump says we should take it" - Kamala Harris. Seems we forget a lot of Dems said that.
"We" as in you and who else?
And what other "Dems" said that? Show evidence of five. You did say "a lot".

The ones that allowed thousands of people to riot during Covid unscreened. The many Dems that supported thousands of illegals to cross our borders unscreened were total HYPOCRITES

He just acts like a smug know it all I think.
He dismissed COVID lab leak theory I believe which is now looking likely.
SMUG.
His criticism of Kanye is spot on. Can we stop enabling this guy's delusional ego?
Sam was wrong on COVID and has yet to admit it. He poses hypothetical situations based on if he was right about COVID. But. He. Wasn’t.

Sam the tool has had his 15 minutes of fame. Next…..

Only fools believe big Pharma, media and government don’t lie. Never mind the $$green line. Sam has cognizant dissidents because of Trump arrangement syndrome. It drives his mind. Sam is so disgusting and not convincing.
Thanks for being a voice of reason and rationality Sam.
Sam is difficult to listen to. Way too many hesitations and stammering. And he’s an arrogant tool
You're probably just religious.
Hesitations is arrogant?

Sam is a professional liar
its true. same lies 😊
Yeah, doctors these days just follow the protocols. If the patient gets worse or dies, that's okay so long as the protocols were followed.
Sam, you had two pilots telling you two strategies to fly the plane home and make a safe landing. You chose the loudest of the two, that’s all.

Great analogy - plane going down, pilot and crew wiped out. Do you want a passenger who is trained in aviation/piloting to step in - or Joe Rogan and Bert Weintein who met a guy with some really interesting ideas on how to land a plane that contradict all known and widely accepted methods?
