I remember Saturday mornings sitting in the floor eating a bowl of cereal while my parents were asleep just glued to the TV. Cartoons, American Bandstand, the Soul Train. The Midnight Special on the weekends. We were SO LUCKY!!
The great old days when black singers had great backing bands and sang beautiful harmonies! What happened? You just can't touch this stuff! You guys hit a homerun with this. Brings me back to the old days when rock, soul, funk, disco, etc ruled the airwaves. You can't beat 60s and 70s music,it's the best 2 decades ever, nothing in the past 40 years can touch this! So much quality musically, lyrically, vocally . This music touched your soul brothers and there was no turning back! This stuff just hit hard and made you feel so good!
One of my favorite songs from that era, and my very favorite from The Emotions. Their version of "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love" is a classic as well.

Love!! Takes me back to 10 years old and blasting this(well as loud as it would go,lol) on my little white portable record player. My dad ran a radio station in the 70s and so I was lucky to get all of the great records/albums.Such a wonderful time and this song is classic!
You had to see them perform on stage and hear them. They came to Nashville with the Commodores and Major Harris, blew the roof off. Love them. They actually sound like that. Awesome
My 12 year-old self loved this song as much as I do now. I loved The Emotions and I was such a HUGE EW&F fan. This song and them on EW&F's "Boogie Wonderland" are staples on my playlist.

These ladies sound just like their recording in person. I was able to see them perform in Nashville back in the mid 70's. They were with The Commodore's and Major Harris. I can't tell how good it was you just had to be there. You guys are awesome.
Great memories for me. I remember this performance. Watched Soul Train and American Bandstand religiously. Then Solid Gold with the Solid Gold dancers. Great music. Talent like we don't really see a lot of today. About as close as we saw was in the 90's with Destiny's Child and En Vogue.
This was the first record I ever bought, I was 11 got it on a 45 rpm. Didn’t have the little center bit for 45s on my parents record player they only played 33 1/3 rpm albums. I had to line it up carefully till I figured out what I needed..
I can't listen to this song without thinking about either the beginning of Boogie Nights (1997) and B-Rock and the Bizz - MyBabyDaddy (which samples Best Of My Love, just sped up)
I heard this song for the first time when I watched the movie Boogie Nights. I immediately bought the soundtrack just so I could listen to this song over and over again. I think it was on cassette tape. lol
Great song and reaction and just goes to show that you don't necessarily need a fancy video clip if you have real talent and a great song like these ladies did. If you liked The Emotions, you may well enjoy songs from late 70s & early 80s by Sister Sledge including "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "We are Family" or by The Pointer sisters including: "Fire" (written by Bruce Springstein) or He's so Shy....
Just found your channel great stuff, Thank You. A fabulous video is Eart Wind and Fire with the Emotions doing "" Boogie Wonder Lad "" the live Video. 🎹🎸🎷👍😎
My favorite female group of all time! My favorites by them are "Don't Ask My Neighbor" "Flowers" and "Walk the Line" Check out this 70's female group call Stargard singing "Which Way is Up" (Live version)
Two of my favorite Emotions songs were So I Can Love You and Don't Ask My Neighbor. I remember purchasing that Flowers album back in the day. The Emotions were sisters. They started as a gospel group called the Hutchenson Sunbeams. Little fact, I remember when Jannette Hutchins of the Emotions got pregnant by Phillip Bailey of EWF while they were traveling the road together. I'm sure that you've heard Boogie Wonderland by EWF and the Emotions?
I have the Emotions album.. if you're a lover of dance, especially the disco era, this is a must have, going to a disco was a heck of a lot of fun, i mean coloured lights under a see through dance floor bouncing off a spinning mirror ball, come on, its like christmas on steroids
Great song! If u like that, Gotta check out Three Degrees-"When Will I See You Again". And, Holy Crap...you haven`t heard Hall & Oates-"Sara Smile"! One of the smoothest songs ever! Darryl Hall`s vocals are silk in this. One of the nicest songs ever! Guaranteed to go immediately on your playlist!
Dang those girls can sing that’s the real deal. “NO AUTO TUNE”…they blow any current singer(s) out the water ( Mariah Carey, Beyoncé ain’t got nothing on them!)
I love The Emotions. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. They have other great hits too. Don't ask my neighbor, Smile, Flowers, I don't want to lose your love. Now that you've done one of my favorite female groups, I would love to see you react to one of my favorite ladies of the eighties, Jody watley's "Still a Thrill'' song and video. If you haven't seen it, I think you would really enjoy that one.
Great reaction, fellas. For another foxy trio of ladies, I recommend the 1974 hit, *"When Will I See You Again",* by The Three Degrees. I'm sure you all know the Philly Soul song, but there's a great video you can do a Reaction to which features the 3 gals in gold dresses sitting on stools.
