Another great soft rock song is a band called "Player", the song is "Baby Come Back". They don't seem to have a lot of other hits, but this ones a jewel. Much love
' Holding on to yesterday ' is a must see track. These guys slay this song. One of the greatest songs of all time. The musicianship and vocals are on another level
This is a great channel. I love this band. Great reaction for real. If I may suggest some more from them: "How Much I Feel," "Your The Only Woman", "Holdin On To Yesterday", "Nice Nice Very Nice", "Life Beyond LA". I encourage you to watch some live footage, they all sing and their live sound is still studio quality. Thank you.
Back info: Ambrosia was initially a prog rock group with great vocals. Their first album was produced by Freddie Piro - who told them to give up smoking and go run for a month before recording their vocals. The mixing was done by the great Alan Parsons. It produced IMO their best song: Holdin’ on to Yesterday… which is the only song ever to feature a solo that pairs a beautiful, plaintive guitar with a great violin!! You won’t regret checking this out! I first heard it in 1977, and it’s remained one of my fave songs all these years! Best to you all!
Kings of Yacht Rock , Ambrosia along with Christopher Cross and Michael McDonald. Lots of R&B basically!!!!! Lead singer is David Pack. ❤ You fellas are going to swoon over Baby Come Back by Player- a smoooooth sexy vibe! Same genre- it slaps!! This is a great song for couples dancing. ❤
What I grew up with love all these groups. "Player" song " Baby Come Back" another great one. I miss this music. Thanks for posting. I will be 68 in September still love this music
One of the better reactions to this song. The dude in the center is a free soul and is a blast to watch. Infectious smile. Been hesitating to subscribe to y'all's channel. You're popping up in my queue, so I will be checking out more reactions from you guys. Ambrosia has a handful of good songs. I'm sure others will clue you in on em. Keep on r'actin .
Ambrosia made some great songs. They were great singers. Quincy jones thought they were a great group vocally. Quincy heard many…that’s a great compliment.
Love this song! One of those songs where you and your man get out the fur rug in front of a warm fire.....with a nice glass of wine...you can fill in the rest...
This brings me back to my high school days! Ambrosia was just a really cool, vibey kind of band. Even if they weren't your favorite band, you loved listening to their songs on the radio, and listening to them now gives me a huge feeling of nostalgia.
Hey bros. A brother from that era here. Ambrosia started as a progressive rock band. If u listen to Holding on to Yesterday from their 75 LP. You’ll hear.. appreciate u guys honesty. We don’t get a lot of that anymore in reactions.
You guys just keep bringing back the memories! I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel. I love that you cover all genres of music because I listen to and enjoy such a variety of music. Keep up the good work!
The lead singer is David Pack on the far left of their album. He's still performing to this day. Check out I Just Can't Let Go by David Pack ft Michael McDonald and the late James Ingram!
I could have gone my entire life without seeing that album cover. I know how ol J Giles felt! "A part of me has just been ripped, the pages of my mind are stripped!"
Great choice Ambrosia. Check out "You're the Only Woman" and "I Just Can't Let Go" which has Ambrosia's David Pack singing lead with Michael MacDonald and James Ingram singing backup. The term "yacht rock" was kind if a negative term for the popular soft rock genre. Ambrosia was a rock band with R&B influenced style in some of their songs like Hall & Oates who before they were a duo sang some backup gigs with Philly soul groups like Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and other TSOP artists.
It has stood the test of time , it always will like Earth Wind Fire and so much music from that time ..Ambrosia / How Much I Feel" check it out , beautiful song PLAYER / Baby Come Back from the same era is the bomb .. ..
Ambrosia is a terrific band, and goes way beyond "yacht rock" and sweet ballads. In their first two albums, they were bouncing between R&B/Blue-Eyed Soul, progressive rock, and a few more pop-oriented songs -- as if they hadn't decided what kind of band they wanted to be. Personally I prefer their proggier and more soul-infused material from the 1970's to their 80's balladry. If you'd like to hear their other, rockier side -- check any of these songs: Drink of Water, Mama Frog, World Leave Me Alone, Holdin' On to Yesterday, Time Waits for No One, and Life Beyond L.A. I love the dynamic of you three and the great variance in genres you're checking out. Genre-Fluid!!
I had to laugh and I'm in total agreement with Fenom202's description of what "Yacht rock" is. OlliWoodda just nailed it, when describing the best way to enjoy listening to this song. This is great to play whenever you're wanting something soft and enjoyable playing in the background, it sets the "mood" for a party or most any type of get-together, not overpowering vocals or power driving instrumentals. (which I have no problem with, I love heavy medal) however, there's certain types of music that's just suitable for specific events. (IMHO) Hey CoreyRoy_ you have good taste in music😊 this is one my favorite bands too. I love David Pack's vocals his range is fantastic, one of the best blue-eyed soul bands from the 70's. Here's a live performance of another one of their hit songs, in case you're interested "Ambrosia - Holdin' On To Yesterday" (by the Channel: AMBROSIABAND). And here's another band to check out that is similar in style in case you're interested in listening to more of this beautiful genre of music. "Cool Change - Little River Band" (by the channel: Earthstudy) Really fun reactions fellas thanx for sharing
This is also ambrosia: Southern Ambrosia is a fruit salad that features a combination of fruits mixed with whipped cream or marshmallows or both. Different recipes may also call for sour cream, pecans, and other ingredients, such as cherries. The most common fruits found in ambrosia are oranges, pineapple, and shredded coconut. Southern Ambrosia is served chilled and as a side or dessert.
If anyone is wondering which of the three guys in the photo wrote this song it was the first guy with the short black hair. His name is David Pack. He also created the group and is the singer heard on this song. This song reached number three on the US Billboard charts and number one on the Radio and Records chart. To this day most people old enough to know this song still remember this song as one of the biggest soft rock songs of alltime. Most music back then was really good. For Real.
Some of their other great songs in this vein are You're The Only Woman (You & I), How Much I Feel and Holdin' On To Yesterday. There are others but I think you'll all really like these three.
@@thisisitreactions There was a super successful Rock/Pop band which didn't fit into any one genre back in the '70s-'80s called, *The Electric Light Orchestra (aka ELO).* They had more Top 40 Hits in the US and UK combined than ANY OTHER BAND IN THE WORLD during their 15-year career ('72-'86). This would a be a new band for your channel and for a great song to get you started, I suggest the one that hooked me on the band, ELO's 1975 hit, *"Evil Woman".* (Use a link with the album version---the album has an electric chair on the cover.)
I was named after this band ❤ everytime I tell people my name is “Ambrosia” they’re wow what is that? Is that some kind of flower haha . I know it means “nectar of the gods” n the ancient Greek myths, ambrosia the food or drink of the Greek gods, is often depicted as conferring longevity or immortality upon whoever consumed it…. But I try to just keep it simple and say I was named after a 70’s rock band 😆
I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s, Ambrosia, Journey,Chicago,Player,Queen,Prince,DefLeapard should I keep going …… Paul Davis,Michael Bolton, Peter Frampton, White Snake…. I can go on and on…. But Steve Perry is the Voice!

David Pack's voice is a spiritual experience.
So we may start a-nooooooooooooo.
The biggest difference between music from then and now is that music from then brought joy to your life.
They all could sing great and play instruments as well.
Quincy Jones has said this is one of his personal favorite songs EVER!
Ahhh..the joy of sax..lol..David Pack was always an underrated vocalist.Song is fire ...period.
This is a masterpiece! I'm also surprised it didn't make #1.
#3 Pop

Ambrosia has a great catalog of music 🎶......... they call it " yacht rock" ✌️
A prime example why we, children of the 70’s, can’t listen to modern music.
Y’all make it all so fun! New Sub!
Bass player plays like he’s playing 6:59 Motown. Carries the song. The Hammond organ takes you to church especially when he hits those drawbars.
Omg I loved your reactions!! Was raised with their music. Check out your the only woman. Amazing music by these guys!
