I picked up the Makita 3 inch polisher and i am new to polishing, I have bird poo spots that have baked in the heat for awhile and I didn't want to over pokish since im new. I only went over it with a regular polisher but maybe I can give it one more try to lighten up its visibility
Mister that was professional job, i saw others trying ,,with crazy ideas ,, like 3000 paper sand, can you imagine,, 😂,, be the way,, great machine and color you got ,, thanks,, for the video.
Had similar issue with bonnet some time ago, it was a hudge bird and it was hot and long day. Not sure if seagull, it must have been an eagle or pterodactyll maybe (haha). So the **** stayed there for couple of hours within battering sun. Long story short I had to use water sand paper from 1000 to 5000 since I had no rotary machine back then. Swirl removers or 'One-step-polish' on cloth by hand wouldn't help. The damage to clear coat was two-spot and it was a real pain in the neck to sort it out!
I left my Mora E38 740i at a friend's house for a few days after I had sold it and awaited him to collect it. I parked under a blossom tree and the blossoms left burns all over the bonnet. Absolutely nothing would flatten that paint again and I tried every polish known to man. I eventually sorted it in the same way as in this video except I used a full sized polisher. Made me sweat though, the new owner was high up in the BMW owners club!
Great video , very informative, you learn a lot in a few mins , thanks , really enjoyed as I've the same issue and will try this when the day is good 👍
Hello Mr Timm, I've got a couple poop stains on the black plastic that goes around the convertible top and it won't come off.. any suggestions? Thanks your the man.
Hey Timm, hope you're well. Really enjoy your videos - I've a 2005 650 E63 - so you're keeping me on the road 🤩 I'm told the poor range on my key fob (even with nrw batteries) is because of the amplifier. Do you know anything about where the diversity amplifier lives?
For anyone with the same problem. I found the amplifier on the rear, passenger side (rhd) rear screen pillar. Took it off, looked fine inside. Reconnected it and viola, remote locking back to normal 😎
Before trying this, I'd like to suggest that you apply some WD40 to the area, leave it for a few seconds and then polish with a soft cloth. It worked for me.
I'm a real animal lover but where I work, some woman was feeding the seagulls and they cacked all over my car. One of the 💩 has damaged the paint. Those bleddy seagulls!!
Well thanks to you and your video. I have now purchased the ACDelco polisher with some 3M ultrafina SE to remove my bird poo damage.
Take it easy that's the best advice, especially on plastic panels. Keep the polisher moving with the 3M compound and you will be fine!
Stressed out over bird poop on my new 370Z.
Thanks so much for the vid!! Subscribed.
Glad it helped!
Timm is it possible to fit a buffer to my variable speed drill, only I don’t want to buy dedicated buffer if so what pads would you suggest
It's certainly possible - I used 3M Finesse-it compound with the blue cap - not cheap but lasts for years

Just take your time and keep checking thr results, that we you can be safe
Great video, what type of pad are you using on the drill??
It came with the polisher (you get two)
I'll try this tomorrow 👍🏼
Nice car and lavely color.
Thanks! I've just done some work on the 840ci - that little thing is so handy!

Tbf. Wetsanding with 3000 grid is like using a polishing paste like he did

@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation I'm glad you were able to get rid of the problem
Will this work if the top clear layer has come off? I’m assuming that and not the polish. No damage to paint.
If you are worried the clear coat has failed don't try and polish it
Was gonna ask you what your advice would be for a quarter sized hood etching that has partially gone down to the primer?
Thanks.
Not really my area of expertise David, I just try and fix simple problems!
This is so nice, thank you for sharing! ✨
My pleasure!
Using heatgun another and better option also quicker.
I agree, but not recommended on composite panels such as those on the 6-series
Great video , very informative, you learn a lot in a few mins , thanks , really enjoyed as I've the same issue and will try this when the day is good 👍

Therese an even easier way- grab your spouses hair dryer, and evenly add heat to the area. As it heats, it will slowly but magically disappear. . .
Love you! Saved me time and money
Worked brilliantly! I placed the hairdryer really close and after about ten to fifteen minutes the mark vanished.
Well some say it does not work
This works👍 10 minutes on high and it was gone
Worked for me, on my new car. only had it pointed at the spot in high heat for a couple of minutes
Not available in the US will EX version work?
Yes, that will be fine

Thanks Vedat, I'll tell you in a few days - I've got a few new things to try on mine

Glad you found the problem Graham!
*BRILLIANT!* 💡
My pleasure!
Michael Caine doing his own car detail…..
Not getting much film work these days!
Hi Timm this is Alvin your number one fan. How long was the bird poo on the hood, to leave a spot like that? Great video, be safe my good friend.
Thanks Alvin, and good to hear from you!
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation you didn't answer the question 🤷🏻♀️
3 days and worse
does it work on black paint as well?
Yes, any colour paint....
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation i have bought a cordless polishing machine and 3M chemical hope to repair many damaqge on my car from your tactic
Excellent info, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
wd40 or a heat gun on low setting.
You have to be so careful with plastic panels - the E64 is covered in plastic!
wd40?
bonnet...love it
Don't forget the BOOT which is at the other end!
Perfect, thanks mate
No problem 👍
Before trying this, I'd like to suggest that you apply some WD40 to the area, leave it for a few seconds and then polish with a soft cloth.
It worked for me.
I'll give it a go and let you know what happens
That is not a permanent fix.
I'm gonna try this tomorrow, thankyou.
I have a raised area on the paintwork where the seagull poo has been...do you think WD 40 will shift that? 🙏🏻
@@wakeupnow_777 no, it will mask it and when you wash the car it will be visible again.
Try just pouring boiling water on it it will disappear before your eyes
Are you serious?
I hate seagulls they done this on my bonnet
I'm a real animal lover but where I work, some woman was feeding the seagulls and they cacked all over my car.
One of the 💩 has damaged the paint.
Those bleddy seagulls!!
Bloody seagulls!
bird poo high acid content.
It is!
I just used water and car soap
It just doen't come off unless you polish it off! We have some weird birds around here.....
Until next time😂
Indeed!
if you happen to like silver cars, that's your best defense
Good point!
