I use a Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 (5hp equiv) on my catamaran. I can cruise at 4.5 knots no problem. My biggest issue I have is getting caught in a weed bed. The large diameter prop is a weed magnet. I have played around with some weed control devices but still have issues. Having a bigger motor gives you that safety option of powering through weed beds without tripping the over current setting of the motor. It would be interesting if you did a video on getting into weeds and how you deal with it.
It saves time out there for sure. years ago when My and and I only had a 45 pound thrust 12 volt it would take an hour to go from one side to the other.
Thanks for giving us the actual speed, you wouldn't beleive the amount of videos out there that show one motor then multple motors and never tell you the speed. If you do a test like this again could you check the battery draw for one motor, then for two. It seems as though when people set their electric boats at about 80% throttle, their battery expectancy doubles, it would be interseting to see how fast two motors push the boat when set for the same battery draw as one motor at top speed, etc.

Boot scootin boogie. You definitely need it out there on “that” lake, right up the road from me lol

Thank you! I have been looking to see what kinda speeds a 6 hp electric would push my pro 170. Hope you upgrade soon!
I may have a bigger motor coming to the channel soon!
Look at the hawswing armada. Im running to hawswing venturas but the armada are even better for less money than most e propulsion i seen.
Man that would push my 8 foot pond hopper pretty quick
It would scoot it!

It SCOOTS! 🤣
A little known fact : when one installs 2 x outboards - one of the outboards need to be changed to counter rotate in respect of the other!
Those motors are garbage. Dont last a season. Waste of $1000. Warranty is garbage like the company that sells them.
don't worry, you won't worry so much about being in a hurry when you get older
I hear that!
