CKSPACE so cool. I want to de clutter we should touch base :)
People who don't like that people get rid of valuable things: It has no value if it's not being used. It's just an object collecting dust and wasted money he spent on it in the first place. I'm sure he sold the valuable items or gave them to people who wanted them, and allowed other people to get the value from them if he isn't! Value isn't just monetary. The value the item actually gives to your life is more important.
"Stop looking at the rear view mirror but look forward instead." Well said.
I love the way this video was edited and filmed
Thanks, appreciate that!
Talking about my own experience, despite I´ve been always a minimalist I do regret decluttering some emotional items. We change over time and may realise that we were too young then to evaluate how precious some items were. Nowadays I´d be specially careful when decluttering things related to the family history or if I was feeling hurt/sad.
Omg... I was so overwhelmed by my own mess and I almost broke down. Your video came just in time in my life like... thanks.... :-(
Glad that it reached you and helped you in some way or another!
"Removing a burden from my life." That's exactly what it feels like!
This was brutal in the best way. Really well done. I want to add that you are definitely an artist, both your physical paintings/drawings and your editing/videography.
Thanks, Louisa! Your words are way too kind!
That's true
Straight up when I heard your accent, I knew you were Singaporean. Cheers fella!
Just in case you haven't read it yet, the book 'Goodbye Things' by Fumio Sasaki is really inspiring and became one of my personal favorites.
I liked your way of editing btw. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the recommendation! Come to think of it, i was halfway through the audiobook and totally forgotten about it. I should check it out once more.
Really appreciate your comment, will keep making more!
The only book I pick up at least once a week ....so much truth in it.
Never did this challenge but I removed 20 items from my room after watching a video of yours few weeks back. This challenge you propose seems like something I might try once I’m back in Singapore.
Awesome to hear that Darren! Nice, let me know when started the challenge
Wow! My head is spinning but I love the way you did this! I started my minimalism journey just a few years ago and so I envy you starting so young! Keep up the great work. Your parents might like what they see and come around to your way of thinking.😊
Hi Joanne, appreciate the kind comment! Always great to hear from fellow minimalist. Will keep working on more!
this guy is so respecful genuine kind and wholesome in all his videos. nicest youtuber out there.
I am on day #3 of 30 day declutter challenge before I go on vacation, and I have threw out loads of stuff and I feel so exhausted. So far I got two closets down, and two dressers and two more to go! It took me forever to declutter my health beauty supplies. 🤣 I am decluttering my entire bathroom spare closet and my writing space today. I plan to have my entire house decluttered by September. I plan to have a trunk full of stuff and loads of more garbage bags to put out tomorrow, I hope the garbage man don't charge me extra, I am going to tip them. 🤣
I really really enjoyed this video! I can deeply understand and appreciate in a personal level when people declutter and decide to live a minimalist life. Letting go of things is a difficult road is not an overnight decision... during my path to minimalism I cried and felt frustrated but when I got in the right mind set I realized that the things I was crying over were just collecting dust in my room and I didn’t even know were there until I decided to declutter. I am so much more happy now and I get to enjoy the little and meaningful things in life that I can carry with me everywhere
Thanks for the comment! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! So glad that by owning less can bring so much value to you! Always love to hear different stories from fellow minimalist.
You’re very intelligent and enlightened for a young man. I wish more people would think like you. If you are worried about losing a memory, you can always take a photo of the items you’re decluttering. Basically it’s true that we keep most items to hold on to memories but a photo will do the trick as well and it takes up a lot less space. At the beginning of October I will try the minimalism game. I’ve tried it once before but also bailed out halfway through. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for your kind words Debbie!
Nice to hear that from you, and glad my video can help!
Shall look forward to your final result!
Thank you greatly! I love what you're doing, and your current channel. Much love!
Love your videos man. I just started decluttering unused items in my life and I came across your videos and it inspired me even more.
You’re a good artist! I hope you keep exploring that world as well, aesthetic video. Good luck :)
Thank you. I have seen many videos of this type, but yours is the first that intelligently evaluates the benefit of this 30-day game beyond 'getting rid of stuff'. I have now subscribed to your channel.
I can say... this is it... this is so inspiring (thanks!!!) ... ‘been watching minimalism ideas but this is a really WOooowwWW for me... you are a STAR...
You're right. I'm half way through my challenge and it's getting tough for me. However, thanks for the encouragement. I'll keep it going strong. Btw, love your videos.
I love your videos and gentle manner is describing what you offer. . thank you.
this really inspired me
will start the challenge tmr
big thanks
Appreciate that Billy! Look forward to your progress!
I love that you showed your mess and shared your failure - brave! "Fail up" as they say! You have just inspired me to try a game: each time I take my dogs for their walks (in a Chicago neighborhood full of "little free libraries") I will carry out one item to donate to the libraries or to the thrift store two blocks away. I just found 3 empty eyeglass cases. Off we go! Thank you!!
Amazing once again, cluttering has also been an issue with me. Trying my best to minimize materialist desires and value what’s important.
Thanks mate! nice, let me know the progress of decluttering!
As an art person I wanted to say I really like your brain art, it has a style to it. ❤️ If you ever decide to take up more art at some point in your life, I hope you enjoy it.
Just in case nobody says it.
Thanks for this video. It really gave me the courage to toss sentimental items. Minimalism is a continuous life habit and sometimes it is difficult but it surely is rewarding.
Thank you for this video. I'm going to start decluttering my room and let go of unnecessary things I had through the years :) Hope more people will get to notice your video. From 🇵🇭 :)
You are one of the best UA-camr I know co'z all of your video are made artistically and I dont find it boring knowing you are just explaining things. Co'z a lot of those people who talks about their journey as a minimalist and it doen't give the vibe you are giving
I didn't know 30 days decluttering meaning
Day 1 - Declutter 1 thing
Day 2 - declutter 2 things
Day 30 - declutter 30 things.
This video really help.
I will keep repeating to watch this video to remind myself and use this method.
I will start decluttering 1 June 2021 ❤️
& See what happen after 3 months...
I love your channel. Thank you ☺️
Just started watching your videos. I like your aesthetic and editing. 🌟
I really enjoy learning from you.
Thank you for this video! & i love how you edited this video!
Thanks Umie! I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Thank you for being so inspirational!!
Great video! Im decluttering my space one day at a time and it feels amazing!!
Thanks for the kind comment! Glad that you like it!
You inspired me to try out the 30-day minimalism game myself! I've just finished day 3 now and am keeping myself accountable by taking pictures of what I throw away :-)
I'm glad that this is helpful!
im so happy that i discovered your channel 😊
Loving this channel man! I have too been in the process of minimalism. Now I only own a one pair of common projects Achilles lows in white, 5 black tees, 5 white tees, acne studio black jeans, apc raw jeans, a cheap cap, one Carhartt wip Detroit organic jacket, Calvin klien winter jacket and that's it for my daily wear!
Thanks for the comment man, appreciate it! Nice, sounds like a clean and simple wardrobe! I'm still on my way to get rid of more
I really enjoyed this video, good job!!
Nice to see The Minimalists content with Matt D'Avella vibes set in the Singaporean context! Hit me in the feels when I could relate to some of the stuff u got rid of lol. Made me rethink the items I could let go of from my room too. Great content!
Im happy to see a fellow Singaporean minimalist comment. Glad that my video can relate to you.
Really appreciate the kind comment! Thanks Yujun!
Love your editing style.
Thanks for the kind words!
Just want to say- your art is amazing!!! They could have been framed! Great video, nicely edited, and inspiring. Will try the challenge soon.
What holds me from "decluttering" is me being very sentimental to almost everything. This is really helpful to me. 👍🏽
Great video, inspiring!
The only item I felt would have been difficult for me, was that family ring
This video was so inspiring, we tried the challenge as well but it's super hard! 😅
I'm a very sentimental person too. I keep gifts from my brothers, ex girlfriends, kids. I keep old film strips from when i was 15 and I don't even want them but I still have them lol. My bedroom has always been cluttered and I never noticed until my parents moved (this is when I use to live with them). I always had too many boxes when we moved. After we moved into the new houses, I still had multiple boxes still packed from 4 yrs ago. Thats crazy lol. I kept telling my parents "it's special bcuz....blah blah blah" or "this person gave it to me and I have to to keep it". I still have a hard time throwing stuff away bcuz "what if i need it one day" or "i should keep this just in case". I still have boxes at my parents place that I continue to keep and I am slowly going though them and getting ride of stuff. I have lived in my small basement suite for a year and a half and i need to get rid of a lot of stuff (still packed in boxes) bcuz I have no room for it. My place is very small lol. I still continue to buy art supplies...why? Bcuz I I have all these plans on how to use them and I'm not doing it. I have no motivation, I guess. Anyways I have rambled on for a long time. Thank you for sharing and making this video, it was very helpful! 😁🙏🖖
I really like this guy
Amazing bro! Big help! Thank you for sharing...
I just found your channel and I feel like I relate a lot to what you say in your videos! Subscribed, keep up the awesome work :)
Thanks Zoe! Glad that it’s something you can relate to. Will continue to make more! 🙏🏼
It's an inspiring challenge! I did konmari method 2 years ago. When I tried this challenge now, I found many things again. I got to day 19. Thank you for your inspiring content.
Great editing and content
OMG, i can totally relate. So funny knowing that people keep the same stuff I'm keeping
Thank you for this video. I'm consider myself as sentimental person, and grew up in a hoarder's house. My journey started when I moved out, that's when I realized what I really needed, and what I don't.
I've been decluttering every other 2-3 months. For example, checking in my closet again, stuff that was in the "maybe" pile, which is really no different from "just in case."
I personally have difficulty letting go some of my clothes, because I know I'll probably end up buying again, so I feel that's the challenge now, too.
My main challenge is to convince my mother to get rid of anything 😂😂😂
Thanks for the comment! Hoarder’s house that something I can related to! 😂😂
Happy to hear that from you!
Great drawings.💗💗💗
What an lovely video you've inspired me to do this as well as much more thanks also you've just Earned an new subscriber!
Thanks for the support! Hope that it can help you some way or another!
This is so inspiring.
I just loved you channel thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks for the support Nina! will continue to create more!
Thanks for sharing 🌻
Congratulations. It's certainly difficult to declutter but one had to do it. I went through it because I HAD to while moving out of my apartment.. ..it was very difficult......one day I'll document it. ....cheers
Dude I love you I love your vlog I love this video and I love your accent!!
I live in a 5x3m room in a student's house and urgently need to re-declutter!! My lifestyle has always required moving (I'm a nomad). Thanks for making it look possible!
Greetings from Mexico city
Appreciate the great support Julia! Glad that this helped you in some way or another
Thanks!
I used to collect, buy many 'Just in case' stuff and keep sentimental stuff, so the amount of things in my tiny dorm room is overwhelming. I try to donate what I can, pass on clothes that don't fit me to my sister and cousin and throw away stuff that are no use to me.
I'll be moving into a new room soon, so spring cleaning is coming early. I hope I can make the new space easier to clean and less stressful.
hey! just discovered your videos, you're very good at this! keep it going, love your content :)
I love this! More power
Glad that you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Very helpful videos!
Hi. I just found your channel. Your videos are helpful and great. Thanks.
Great video!
I like you n your videos. interesting. i have always wanted to be a minimalist but it is so difficult. I also view your video again and again. this time I shall try the 30 days rule. coz I have plenty of time during the lock down.
Wow just discovered your channel yesterday and i am glad I did!! Personally I'm not sure if I will become a true minimalist but I do believe in de-cluttering my life. Also what i like the most about this video is you displayed different types of way to declutter your life. Personally I tried to accomplish the Kon Marie method but I would find myself getting too distracted with school and work. I will attempt to accomplish the 30 day challenge as this is more direct and not as sentimentally challenged.
I guess there's no real definition of a minimalist. Instead, you can focus on living a more intentional life that can suit you.
I'm grateful that it reached you and helped you some way or another! Appreciate it!
@@CKSPACE your first statement is true.
I didn't know that this challenge is exist, but I play a minimalist game since 1 year. I planned that I will declutter a huge sack of unused stuff in every week, and that works very well. I learned to let go my past and some sadness with this habit.
Love your videos boy, keep it up! (:
It's great to hear about different method from you.
Thanks for the comment! Appreciate it
Thank you for sharing ❤️

@@CKSPACE Greetings from Hungary, Europe 🙏🏻🌸
Great job, inspiring! I like the 30 day method; need to try it. Thanks!
Thanks Danny! Feel free to let me know the progress!
@@CKSPACE ok, will do. Would like to start on the first of the month, easier to keep track. I love the concept of minimalism! (I have some obstacles to break through, but I'm working on it). New sub !
Wow! Like this, I think I will try it!
Thanks Ana! All the best!
8:50 yup I'm feeling your pain... I know It's getting harder to let goo of some of these things... Great job
Amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love your accent.
😂 Thanks!
That is really good.
I like it ✌️ thanks for inspired people ☺️☺️
Great vid subbed 😃
Thank you.
You are so talented. This was the most helpful video I've ever watched🌊🌊🌊 keep uploading
Thanks for the kind words Lisa! Glad that this video helps! Will continue to work on more videos!🙏
This is incredible! Kudos for seeing the whole challenge through and not half-assing it...I can't believe you let go of things like a ring passed from your grandma to your mom 0_0 (I guess I woudn't know what to do with it either but damn). Inspirational and aesthetically shot as always. Keep up the good work! Wish youtube algorithms would give you a break, you deserve waaay more subs.
Appreciate the nice words!
😂 i didn't toss them away. I've sold, gave, donated, recycled and trashed my clutter. Will make a video next week on the whereabouts of these items after i declutter them.
Thanks for the support, will keep working hard to make more!
@@CKSPACE awesome idea! I did wonder where many of these things went lol
I wanna try this!
great to hear that, do let me know how it goes!
hi hello good video CKSPACE, it was nice
I will be guilty on retaining the books...and the marble coaster haha. But ya I should agree with everything you have just disposed. :)
great vid!
Thanks man!
The hoops are CUTE!
Good one.. ill try
my heart is crying a and i feel like actually crying, i can’t imagine myself parting with any of my sentimental items, i feel like i’m parting with a piece of me...
If u can't then don't
Great memories are not in things, they're within us, it's just good marketing that tells you that your most precious memories are in your souvenirs, photos etc.
@@XandriaRavenheart You won't remember everything in proper detail. That would be like saying why bother have written history if we can just remember and recall what happened.
Very smart 💕
Thanks Jeremy!
Great job
Thanks Jody!
Honestly if you ever miss anything you can always look at this video to have that nastalgia feeling. I've been purging alot latley and anything I feel like I don't want to forget I take a photo of it so I don't forget it. Then just put thoes photos on a disk and all that stuff gets remembered in a compact way. 👍
Nice challenge
