  • Hey everyone! Today, I'm going to show you exercises that you can do to achieve the full planche. This skill is VERY challenging and will likely require an extended amount of time and hard work to learn, but trust me it is all worth it once you can fly!! If you liked this tutorial and would like to see more like, go ahead and hit me with a subscribe no jutsu!!!
    Quick Update (Important): Been having some technical issues uploading videos lately, especially longer ones. Just a heads up in case I miss an upload in the future, sorry about that.

    Your tutorials are always a cut above the rest. Most tutorials for straight arm work only have isometrics, but I like how yours always has some dynamic movement added to the holds. Definitely adding these in brother! Thanks for the videos

    Good one. But for example i had weak front delt and my shoulder was injured years ago. Doing the tuck planche never built the shoulder strentgh because of wrong activation even tho it looked perfect form. I had to use dumbells and do some straight arm raises to hit that front delt and after 3-4 sessions i swear i felt much stronger and i even hit the tuck planche from handstand which was very heavy for me.

    • @barkage
      @barkage  3 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing, the tuck planche is a good progression for people starting out because it can help them get a good feel for the balance aspect of holding planche. It should be trained alongside other exercises such as the planche lean or even the straight arm dumbbell raises that you mentioned for optimal results. Hope this was helpful!

    Very Nice tutorial and info.Could you do a video about a little easier stuff cause i think you pretty much mastered them.Like how to progress from adwanced tuck planche to straddle or half lay planche.Maybe some drills and tips to get stronger in adwance tuck planche with perfect form to hold it 10 15 sec, like presses and perfect push ups in both adw tuck and than half lay planche.I would like to see some push ups and presses in those positions on ground with full control and form.Also i can suggest that if you have space when you record some planches in general maybe its even better to be seen from the side view.Tnx bro and keep it up, you are strong as FF"

      Thanks a lot for the feedback, it is greatly appreciated! Yeah, for sure bro, that's part of why I wanted this to just be a "part 1" of the tutorial. I will say that the tucked presses that I demo'd at the beginning are one great way to get stronger in adv tuck, but I can make a vid in the future with more exercises! And yes, I completely agree that getting some different angles for holds, presses, and push ups would be beneficial for a lot of people so I will include that in future vids as well. Thanks again for the feedback and have a great day!

    • @barkage
      @barkage  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I don’t like one leg front lever because people always do it with a rounded back when it’s supposed to be straight. And for planche, I just think it’s outclassed by straddle because it’s a lot less awkward to do straddle presses and negative straddle presses. Hope this was helpful!

    Hi man! So I have this issue with planche, I've been training calisthenics for already a year of basics, but when I started with planche I've got some pain in my left forearm, I thought I wasn't warming up very well so I stopped for a couple of weeks but when I started again, there was that pain! A little bit less but still, so I'm not sure if my body it's not ready for planche or it's something else, did you ever had this pain? I think its tendonitis, everything is useful, very complete tutorial btw, take care 🙌

    I m stuck with Straddle, i cant do more of 4 seconds of straddle and i cant do the straddle in horizontal, my legs are down. I have 6 seconds of tuck advance, do you recommend me do more holds of tuck adv instead of straddle with legs down? Good tutorial thanks for your help.
    Here i write my routine of planche
    Lean Planche 3x10 seconds
    Straddle Hold Attempt 3x
    Negative Straddle x3
    Press Straddle with rubber band (15kg)
    tuck push ups 3reps x 4 sets
    hs push ups in wall max reps x 3 sets
    I need your help pls

    • @barkage
      @barkage  3 роки тому +1

      That’s a solid looking routine for sure! I would recommend starting with the straddle attempts and then moving to the eccentric straddle presses and then the band assisted straddle presses. Stay consistent with that and you will see great progress! 💪

  • @aurelberger6847
    @aurelberger6847 3 роки тому

    One question: What do you do if you feel pretty sore or really tired, begin to train and can’t perform near your normal level. Every time I wonder if I should do some basics like planche lean and lean push ups or if I should completely skip that day and go for recovery to be able to perform the next day on a higher level?

    • @barkage
      @barkage  3 роки тому +1

      This is a great question and one I wish I would’ve addressed in the video. You can honestly do either. Personally, on weak days, I will just do what I can do (usually just attempts). However, for someone who is relatively new to planche training, I would recommend skipping the bad days. Hope this helps!

    Whats your weight/height and how long did it take you to get the full planche ? Do you think holding the straddle for 4 seconds to failure is the right progression for me or should I hold een tucked version for longer with less intensity? Great content! Keep it up!

    • @barkage
      @barkage  3 роки тому

      Thanks a lot, will do! I am 5 foot 5 in and 160 lbs and I’m not quite sure how long it took me to get full planche, but I would guess around a year, but everyone progresses differently. For your last question, I would recommend sticking the straddle. It is very important to focus on what challenges you the most, even if it’s not super clean at first. Hope this was helpful!

    • @robbyboon5739
      @robbyboon5739 3 роки тому

      @@barkage Thanks for your reply! So everyone has his own opinon and own approach for the planche. This makes it hard to choose the right progression. Some say choose a progression which you can hold for about 8-10 sec with a lower intensity (80% max rm). And do a couple of sets. And some say pick the progression which challenge you the most. The only thing I know for sure is that I will keep going! Thanks for the tips! youve got a new sub
