    *So far this juicer is a monster. It goes through the toughest vegetables like watermelon rind **MyBest.Kitchen** turnips, parsnips, beets, carrots, etc. like they are nothing. If the blades stay sharp and it does not break it will be a great buy. The cleaning of the screen and blades is the most time-consuming but they send a brush so it is not too bad. I would have given it 5 stars across the board if not for cleaning the screen.*

    Good idea to leave the stickers on, next time try juicing the carrier bag, then work your way up to shopping trolley....

    Unbelievable! I used to have a Jack LaLane juicer that I hated ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXHNfxr6U9XrHQpsdjUrKNVP231BfS9q9 But I still always liked the idea of a juicer even after getting rid of that one years ago (and spending $150 for it). Enter this Hamilton Beach juicer. wow. Wow. And WOW! It is so easy to use. The mouth tube is so big! And cleaning is so fast! I just took the bin of pulp out to the compost and rinsed it out in my sink outside then brought it in and hand washed everything. Thanks for including the brush to clean the strainer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

    Holy cow, people. Yes, I made a mistake and left the sticker on. The sticker is the smaller than a pinkie nail and did not blow up the juicer. It still works, I promise. And guess what? I'm still alive! Also, all of the produce was washed before filming began. I use Trader Joe's produce cleaner every time I juice, hold the produce with my right and and scrub with a biodegradable brush until my hands fall off, then reattach them. Is there anything else you'd like to know?

    incredibly close, breville seemed much louder during operation as well. not that it matters too much, but may matter for some. you certainly want as little heat as possible generated in the process to the fruit/veggies.

    I just purchased the same Breville model from Amazon.ca. Ordered it last Tuesday night around 8pm; it was delivered by UPS the following Friday at noon. Absolutely love, love it. It is the same model used by Joe Cross in the video 'Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead' which is also on youtube.

    We've had a Champion for about 15 years and I'd MUCH rather clean it than the centrifugal juicer my son prefers to use. If you clean up as you're drinking the juice, it's easy to clean any juicer, but the parts from a centrifugal juicer (ours is a Philips) are so big and bulky! The Champion parts all fit easily into the sink.

  • @ultradian7
    @ultradian7 12 років тому

    Yeah that makes sense. Juice takes a moment to settle as there is oxygen in it from the juicing process. So the Lalanne was sitting for a moment and 2 ounces difference in those glasses in an inch. Not much difference here and the juice quality and color is identical. Funny because my Breville leaks and oldschool Lalanne doesn't! I also have a Juiceman and they are all pretty similar. Anyway, thanks for your review and response!

    My wife and I have been using an inexpensive juicer for a while now and it does pretty good but you have to cut the veggies/fruits into very small pieces to get them into the chute.

    Good question. I'm not sure which gives less pulp but I'd have to say that the Breville's pulp was a bit dryer than the JLL. I'd have to say the Breville might have given a little bit more pulp since there was a little bit more juice.

  • @paddyboyyy
    @paddyboyyy 12 років тому

    I have the J.L.Elite and the blade constantly clogs no matter what order you juice your veggies in and it is a bear to clean. Also the spout is very low and requires you to empty the small container frequently. I have seen a couple of Breville machines and it seems they have addressed these issues. I will be placing the J.L. machine in the next garage sale and upgrade to the Breville for sure. Seems you get what you pay for. Thanks for this video

  • @dandingo13
    @dandingo13  12 років тому

    I know what you mean. The high power juicers do produce more froth but as you can see at the end, the Breville still juiced a little more than the JLL. I also tend to juice soft produce on low and hard on high, which cuts down on froth.

  • @budwake

    I thought he said "well, if the Breville does any better, we're going to be in trouble" because the first one nearly filled the glass. If the Breville did render a lot more juice the second glass would have overflowed making it hard to tell how much better. Give the dude a break. 57+ thousand views not to mention you and me watched it. Thanks for the video dandingo13.

      Not only that, but the higher speed of the Breville is injecting more air into the juice, making it "fluffier" if that makes any sense. Each time a centrifugal juicer is used, the cutting blades get a little more dull, and the juicer becomes a little less efficient. Blade replacement is recommended at least once per year with daily juicing. Just from the noise, I can tell that the Jack's blades are dull. Twin gear and single auger juicers never get dull since they aren't sharp to begin with. The savings in blade replacement and greater efficiency will pay for itself over any centrifugal juicer especially when you consider that the newer designs are covered under warranties of between 10 and 15 years.

    • @samh5535
      @samh5535 Місяць тому

      @@richardgray8593 Yes, but the augers also wear down in all masticating juicers, causing looser tolerances between the auger and juicing screen, which reduces the compression and grinding efficiency of masticating juicers. Make no mistake, masticating juicers also heat up much more noticeably and the heat does not quickly dissipate, which increases this effect. The ejected pulp can even get very warm after a while (and therefore the juice must also be that warm) and the juice often sits in a warming collection cup in upright models. From my experience, masticating juicers make thinner, watery juice with large pieces of pulp, whereas centrifugal juicers release micro-particles of fiber into the juice and more insoluble nutrients resulting in thicker, creamier juice with colored multi-layered swirls and smoother juice with more body.

    No mind reading involved. I Actually watched the video, and listened to what he said. He is responding in defence of his position, not his comments, I care only because your detracting from the effort he did put in to make the video when you didnt. Its clear that he is not commenting on the quality of the juice, but the clean nature of the job, compared to his old juicer. I love that I am the mind reader, when YOU are making a social commentary on the motivations of a guy making a juicer video.

    Another thing that makes a difference in the amount of juice that comes out is the amount of pressure you put on the pusher... The slower you push, the more juice comes out.

    I just bought a JLL Express in like new condition, didn't even have carrot stain on it. I doubt it was ever used and i luv this thing and what it does. Cleaning is a snap i just take it apart and take the pieces outside and use my hose with a very good nozzle on it and i am done in less than 1 min. Paid only $25 and i am hooked on juicing! By the way the hose cleaning works great on the screen and its safe too, good for the yard also. Its not as fast as a Breville but it works for me,have agood1

  • @porter298
    @porter298 9 років тому +1

    Nice video. I inherited the JLL and so far I dont have many complaints, but I also have nothing to compare it to. I know mine spits out too much pulp, I always have to strain final product. Pulp discharge is not completely dry either so I know I'm not getting all the juice available. I will be upgrading, but considering the JLL was free I can't really knock it too hard.
    Nitpicking: If your goal was to measure the output, why in the world would you pour the juice out of the measuring cup into a glass?

    That's not a bias, that's honesty! IF the Jack Lalanne wasn't any better, I would have returned the Breville and gotten my money back, period! The Breville is cleaner in regards to collecting pulp and ease of cleaning after juicing. My old JLL used to leak both pulp and juice all over the counter. The Breville leaks virtually none. Maybe your JLL's in better shape than mine. Regardless, I have absolutely nothing to gain by be biased. Thanks for watching!

  • @dandingo13
    @dandingo13  12 років тому

    How did I 'rationalize' spending $150 on a new juicer? I'm not just comparing the yield, but also the cleanliness, dryness of pulp, speed and all the factors that go into comparing juicers. The facts that the Breville is much cleaner, as well as having a low and high speed for different kinds of produce, were huge reasons in picking up a new juicer. I can guarantee that I yield a lot more juice from my kale with the Breville. That, alone, is a huge plus for me.

    I have a breville and I am sure you will be as happy with yours as I am with mine. It spins at more than twice the speed of the joke la lane and it sounds like a juicer when being used not like a machine shop. grinder like the J.L machine.. if you weighed the input, why didn't you weigh the output?
    volumes can easily vary - yes, even for solids (flour, butter, ice cream) - but especially liquids. egg whites vs meringue ... heavy cream vs whipped cream ... etc
    either way, glad you're happy with the breville.
    p.s. was there something wrong with the lalanne machine that made you need to change?

  • @accentphotonc

    I use the stainless Breville and love the power. I have the base model as well and there is definitely a difference in the bogging down of the motor with Kale or Collards. With all juicers centrifugal juicers there is a time when you need to stop and open the unit to brush the fiber off of the chewing teeth otherwise you are wasting juice and heating up your veggies. Mentioned earlier a Lalanne owner thought a Champion would clean easier. IMOP definitely not. I have two Green Stars I know.

    Hi I´m gonna be buggin´ ya askin´ questions. I´m looking for a juicer, and the Breville looks tempting, but I´ve read several reviews that there´s one terrible flaw. The pulp gets stuck in a place where you can´t get it out of. I heard you can call and they´ll replace the piece but does that fix it for good or do I have to replace every now and then??? Not sure if you know what I speak of when I mention this flaw...And out of curiosity; can´t you stick the whole apple without cutting it? Thanks

      It's sounds like a vacuum cleaner, you will need headphones if you use it.

    Question...can you do a comparison with the Breville and the Nutribullet?
    I am wondering about the pulp....that contains fiber/extra nutrients and truth be told I'm not going to use the pulp for other dishes lol...wondering if the Nutribullet is better b/c it also juices the pulp leaving nothing.
    I have a Jack LaLane...not sure I'm gonna like it

    The Breville has two speeds. He was on high. He could have put it on the slower speed if he wanted. But he did drink the glue.

    Jack machine is poorly designed. Plastic screw stripped away so you can't screw down the extractor base. Machine is worthless now. All this after only 3 weeks of use. Plastic on plastic is ok if it's designed better. Just got a breville plus off of Craigslist for 70 bucks and it's basically new lady said she only used it 3 times.
