Subaru WRX TR Is What Happens When You Let A Trackday Enthusiast Modify Your WRX

- Handling upgrades first and foremost, and then driver mod! That's the Subaru WRX TR mantra. It used to stand for 'Tuner Ready', but this 2024 Subaru WRX TR is equipped with a lot of meaningful handling upgrades that TR might just stand for 'Track Ready'

I really like the way this Subaru looks...I don't know why some people don't like those black plastics. I think many people just want to hate, instead of being satisfied that Subaru still makes a performance sedan
Yes. The CVT, or “SPT”, is very good. And I mean it, it’s really fast, and good!
Many don't know why people do like them. To each his own
Hideous car
@@19hundoc47 Not really...
@@gavinvjust like nissan trying to disguise the word cvt by using “xtronic”
I’m an old school tuner. Tricked out a Dodge Neon long ago. This took me back. Pricey but NICE!!👍🏾
VB WRX to the moooooon!
Having larger wheels is not about wider tires - it IS about larger brakes……
Can it beat a stock VA STI around a track?
shouldnt “Tuner Ready” be cheaper/decontented so the “tuners” can add what they want?
Lmao I thought you were redline reviews then I heard your voice and I was like na this dude doesn’t sound like a chick
Why didn't they up grade the shifter with the Short Throw Shifter? Seems logical for a TR designated model.Stupid.
Doesn’t TR mean tuner ready
It does
Subaru realized that they needed to push more cars to the mass to grow the audience and following. This means cheaper cars for everyone when most automakers are making 40k+ cars. They also recognize that cars got expensive after 2020 and that moving a $55k STI off the lot just like a Civic type R was going to be tough.
Unfortunately for us, the WRX isn’t the main focus (rally) anymore. The focus is different affordable cars that have AWD, can go many places and can be driven by anyone.
For those die hard enthusiasts, they give us the best financially responsible car they can. Truth be told, the new TR is just as good as a VA STI in many aspects. Besides -25 hp, a faster steering rack, adjustable center differential that most people don’t use, and some badges, is it really that much different?
I’d have to drive one personally. I love my VA Sti though. No hate on the new subies. Maybe down the road I can test drive one and see for myself.
Where tf you find a 55k sti?
@@ColoredSquid HAHA that’s a good question 🧐
@@ColoredSquid now that I think about it I imagine he means a vb sti if it were to exist. Based on the wrx tr you can imagine with the dccd and more powerful power plant it would definitely be at least 55k
@@AudioHead809 I hope so because I bought a 2021 sti new and a 2024 wrx TR new neither came close to that price lol. But I can see a VB wrx STi coming close to that!
The price is ridiculous. And there r no changes to the engine or trans, which means that the engine and trans in the base is also track ready. So why bother
Where have you been? All cars are expensive these days.
lol name a faster stock AWD sedan for 39k....
@@thekingandi1705 A used M340i xDrive
Good luck with maintenance...
@@thekingandi1705 I'll take the maintenance. Not a problem.
Dang that car is uuuugggggly
Dear Subaru Asia of Japan and Subaru of America Inc.,
Have you finally regretted not giving your enthusiast-based consumers the STI model they've been ever so desperately wanting yet? Have you finally regretted falling into the scheme that the government played you into believing that EVs are the answer? Have you thought about any regrets that's going to come with you bringing an electric STI that won't be an STI that you're going to call STe you know both the regular WRX and the STI communities are not going to take too kindly of if you even bring it to the North American market?
Subaru. If I were you, I'd pump the brakes on whatever IT IS you people that are sitting at a cubicle and in a corporate office think long and hard about the poorly negative actions you're going to receive bringing an STe in a WRX body.
Do yourself a favor and stop playing with your STI enthusiasts, get the STI Division back up and running, upgrade the 2.4T for STI duty and give the WRX STI that people have been wanting and waiting for that should have NEVER BEEN CANCELLED in the first place when you had a fully built production ready WRX STI ready to go to market.
PICK YOUR POISON. Either bring the STI back to the market or just leave the US market completely. DON'T try to give us no PR excuse about climate change and regulations. YOU ARE NOT MOPAR! And don't try to give a half-assed STI Sport that isn't a true STI. Give the STI fans the full-blown WRX STI like it was originally set to go to market or you can leave the US market and fall to the wayside like Isuzu, Suzuki, and Mitsubishi all have.
They just sold more WRXs last year than any year of the WRX yet, so why would they be regretting their decision. They’ll come back with an STi eventually, but for now, the current WRX has the same pulling power as the old STi, and it handles better. The only lacking part at this point is the tranny since we now have superior brakes compared to the STi brakes.
Lol typical entitled and spoiled ‘merican rant
I agree. Get with the program Subaru. I got a ‘22 only bc it was the sensible
Option. I was pissed off when they canceled the STI, and i will NEVER buy an STe. Im tired of the BS games. I’m trading mine in for a BMW
TR = All show, no go.
Drive one and you’ll change your mind. The chassis improvements for 2024, plus the new suspension, brembos and steering rack tuning is like night and day compared to a 2022-2023 model. I just traded my 2022 for a TR and it’s phenomenal!
It’s hard to believe that when it’s the same engine. I wish they would’ve given us more power.
Shame they haven't upgraded the shitful external aesthetics.
