- The Atomiswave is an arcade plate and an arcade cabinet launched in 2003 by Sammy Corporation, which is based on the Sega NAOMI arcade plate. The Atomiswave system board uses interchangeable cartridges for the storage of the games and the control panel of the furniture. The recreational can easily be exchanged for another set of controls, including dual joysticks, two light guns and a steering wheel. With the disappearance of the veteran system Neo-Geo MVS, SNK Playmore chose the Atomiswave as its next board to develop games. In this video we will review the entire ATOMISWAVE collection where we will find his successes and also not so well known games.

P. D.: Pedazo de máquina fue la Atomiswave, la mayoría de sus juegos siguen sin poder ser emulados en el MAME, miraré a ver si fuesen en el Teknoparrot.

It was a slightly downgraded SEGA Naomi! Since it was launched in 2003 then it was actually weak for it's time!

Thanks for the post. All is working well. At first it was choppy and slow. Even the audio sounded demonic lmbo... but i tweaked the settings and it's darn near flawless. Also this is on a basic computer, nothing special. GT610/AMD ATHLON II X3 435... THANKS AGAIN!!!
The only Atomiswave games not translated into English were the Net Select games (Victory Furlong and Salary Man Kintarou). Sushi Bar, Premier Eleven, Chase 1929, Force Five, and Kenju were all never released, but the prototype of Sushi Bar has been dumped.
I wish we got a more "complete" KOF Neowave.

Seeing as the Dreamcast fizzled out years before these games were released in arcades, not surprising.
The Dreamcast has gotten 5 Atomiswave ports in the past 2 weeks, with more coming! We should have all of the games ported over by the end of 2021 at this rate haha! The hardware is so similar to the Dreamcast very little hacking is needed to be done to run these games natively. Please keep updated here with all of the new ports.

Never heard of Dolphin Blue before, looks like a really fum Metal Slug-type shooter. Sega Clay Challenge and the two Extreme Hunting games are also new to me. Fist of the North Star, Kings of Fighters NeoWave, Knights of Valour: Seven Spirits and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum are the games i played in the arcades. For some reason, we never got Metal Slug 6 in our arcades, so i only played it in the Metal Slug Collection. Nice video.

Este sistema llevo varios meses buscándole, al.menos quisiera emularlo, y no EH encontrado un emu, anteriormente hace muchos años poseía, dolphin blue, demolish fist, y hokuto no ken, todos unos juegaszos, y aunque salieron pocos, los de esta placa en específico valen la penas todos. Espero algún día encontrar un emulador sin problemas y poder correr estos juegos que tantos recuerdos me traen, gran vídeo amigo saludos.

There are tons of plug and plug systems you can purchase that can run this and many more...I swear I had no ideal about any of this until Jan 2021 because of the PS 5 shortage, then I saw a video about extreme home arcades and that blew me anyway...

I like atomiswave for what it was. Some quality horizontal and vertical shooters would've did it more justice. It had some nice games, just no SOLID classics. Battle Colosseum is underrated as hell tho
yeah, some shooters would be great for the Atomiswave library, but there are none on the Atomiswave.

Metal slug 6 is my favorite
I wish all these games could be backported onto Dreamcast and played on real hardware. This video is more or less proof of what a successful system the Dreamcast COULD have been if Sega hadn't chosen to retire from console business entirely. It was certainly not lacking of good games for the system.
Metal Slug 6 has just been ported to the Dreamcast. More games are coming. Guess it's a matter of time that we'll have all Atomiswave games ported.
Regarding Dreamcast, it was a more than capable hardware that programmers didn't care to exploit, they also didn't have the time during its short commercial life (99-2000 and part of 2001, though it was already dead) there were some interesting and really good looking games from 2002 to 2006, like Ikaruga, Border Down and especially Under Defeat which has a lot of nice texture, lighting and particle effects.
Still I don't think we've seen a game fully utilizing Dreamcast's potential, I'm not saying we could've seen things like God of War or late Ps2 games, but bearing in mind that big games like Shenmue or Metropolis Street Racer, looking amazingly good, came out during the very beginnings of Dreamcast's life, one could only hope for bigger and better looking games to come. Too bad it died right after that.
You can now emulate these with flycast on pretty much any hardware

Most of these games (the good ones at least) were ported to PS2, some of them even made it to America, games like Guilty gear AC, KOF Neowave, KOF XI and Neo Geo BC. We didn`t see these games on arcades mainly because when the Atomiswave arcade board was released the Arcades scene was basically dead on western shores.
They still have arcade spots out there in Japan and they have games that would blow your mind.

A capacidade nativa da plataforma é excelente, indiscutivelmente superior a qualquer sistema de 5ª e 4ª geração seja no 3D ou no 2D. Mas é lamentável vermos a NAOMI ser tão mal explorada pela SNK (ou pelo que sobrou dela) com transposições grosseiras de sprites gerados no Neo Geo pra um sistema com o dobro de resolução, palheta de cores infinitamente superior e taxa de quadros muito maior. Seja por preguiça ou desconhecimento, deixar de desenvolver melhores ports dos seus clássicos usando um nível gráfico de sprites tão baixo pro padrão da NAOMI mostra a decadência na qual a empresa se enfiou.
