My parents purchased 5 plots in a cemetary in 1967 after my infant brother passed away. I have always known there were 5 plots available. The cemetary changed hands some years ago. When my mother passed, the new company said there were only 2 plots. Therefore, my mother had to be buried deeper and my father will have to be buried on top. Now, at 60 years of age, I have no plot available to me to be buried next to my parents. These 3 plots are still open. I know they belong to my family. The cemetary said, "You need to show the deed." How do I find the original information if I can not locate a nearly 60 year old deed?
That is terribly unfortunate. I’m so sorry this happened to your family. Unfortunately the only other record of your parents deed would be at the cemetery. You could ask to see their record books, maybe that would help clear things up.
