Hey! Could you explain the reason behind using the convel joints for the dampers? I am trying to model the rear suspension of our BAJA car and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the joints that are used for the shock in most template I investigated.

Hi Muhamad, DC stands for "Damper on Chassis" and is used to indicate the point where the suspension spring and damper system is hinged to the sprung mass

I have few questions,
when creating the hooke's joint at the tie-rod end. What did you take I-axis and J-axis as Left Outer tie rod joint and Right Inner tie rod joint?

is because the joint must point to the right, if not, it will point upwards (or another direction).

+Andry89ism - I have tried your procedure to create template and tried to run in Standard Interface.
I am getting an error , like redundant Constraints at Upper Control arm inner revolute joint.
Next problem is Static Equilibrium Analysis. Solution is not converging ,even after 50 iterations and End error is showing as "Static Solution failed to converge".
Can you suggest some ideas to clear these redundant constraint and also to find the cause for convergence .

Hi. Can the kinematic analysis be done for a single axle only or must this axle be coupled to the rear one? In this simulation it seems like you can do it for a single one, just need a confirmation.

How can I do steering simulation on adams software
I'm new to this and I have no idea how these positions are calculated. What did you base your movements on when placing the hardpoints? I would really appreciate it if you could help me out with this.
usually we use CAD software to build the model first and then get the positions
@@panzerlal7779 What do I need to pay attention to when creating the model and what kind of calculations do I need to make and according to what should I create a model?
@@RealBitti usually you can get the xyz positions of the hard points fron your colleague engineers, then build the construction frames if needed, then build the general parts (for example, a doublewishbone suspension needs upper control arm, lower control arm, upright, damper, spring, tierod, spindle, drive shaft, tripot). after the model is built, you can do the parallel wheel jump first
How to fix the coordinate locations??
Hi AR Sarjun :) We used Adams Car 2013.2. Before you start ADAMS/Car Template Builder, make sure that your private configuration file, .acar.cfg, shows that you can work in expert-user mode. Your private configuration file is located in your home directory.
To check the user mode:
1) In a text editor, such as jot or notepad, open .acar.cfg.
2) Verify that the following line appears as shown:
ENVIRONMENT MDI_ACAR_USERMODE expert
(you just have to replace default standard with expert and save!)
This line sets the user mode for the ADAMS/Car session.
To start ADAMS/Car Template Builder:
1) Start ADAMS/Car Standard Interface.
2) From the Tools menu, select ADAMS/Car Template Builder.

how to change adams standard environment to expert environment
when i open adams car the template builder was not showing....
and later i fount out i am standard environment i don't know how to change this to expert environment

Go to your C:\Users\Username directory, use Notepad to launch the file "acar.cfg". Change the desired of user mode from standard to expert. Save the file. Open Adams/car.
Also, After you change the mode in that configuration file, you can use F9 to do quick shift between 2 modes.
Im using Adams18. Im not getting the option of template builder. Please help!

@@sheitejsharma681 Check your model. There might be Rebundant constraints. Also check whether you have given proper communicators, certain of them need to be matched properly. You can find this in adams tutorial in help Or just open one of the shared template and go to communicators and conduct a check test. You will come to know which of them are you missing.

I strongly suggest you the following two (both in english): 1) Race Car Vehicle Dynamics (by Milliken) and 2) Fundamentals of Vehicle Dynamics (by Gillespie). I know other books but those are mostly in italian: i can tell you the references if you are interested anyway. Bye!

@@Andry89ism ok but that is just DC in your template right...so what is DC2 ?
@@pramodmallipudi6616 It is simply DC translated along the x-axis to define the j-part axis for the last convel joint
