My dinners for the week were.
Monday - Pizza. 🍕
Tuesday - Beans on toast with grated cheese on top.
Wednesday - Chicken curry and rice.
Thursday - Leek and potato soup with homemade soda bread.
Friday - Good Friday, made fish pie and peas.
Saturday - Went to McDonalds and had a McCrispy meal.
Sunday - Easter. Made roast leg of lamb, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, Yorkshire pudding with mint sauce and gravy. Simnel cake for pudding.

Which we could get the same items as you at Aldi. US stores are different than the British stores.
I'm the opposite Derek, I'd LOVE a good look around an American supermarket 😂 we'll be over in the states in the summer...so will wait till then x
I know. They are not as good. ALDIs and Lidls back in the UK tend to use more British produced food in their offerings, which is great and show that on their packaging. When you finally find the tiny little info on the packaging on food here you find out it’s from China or some other country.
@@WhatsForTea were are you planning to visit in the states. Lots of great supermarkets. Some even carry some UK products. We also still have a few businesses that produce UK style food.

Hi Cheryl! I’m so happy to have found your channel. Now that I know about my Scottish roots I have been trying your recipes for some wonderful Scottish meals. The steak pies are wonderful and next I want to do mince and tatties. All my love to you and Scotland.
Happy Easter. That Haddock Filet looks delicious. I love peas mixed with corn. I have some Quorn in the freezer and will make the Bolognese later this week. It is so good. Wow, Loaded Fries. I've eaten them out ( my sister and her husband have a Chili Dog Food Truck and they do the loaded fries too) but never done them at home. I'll be trying this one soon. I love your Penne Arrabiata. Your Salads are always beautifully done. I have to spray those fries with a bit of olive oil before air frying to get them to brown/cook. Nice takeaway. The Sage and Onion Stuffing is a favorite with us. Your Poached Chicken breast with your gravy and the Swede makes a perfect Sunday meal. TY so much for cooking, filming, editing, uploading and sharing your meals with us. Love ya.

Those loaded fries can have so many variations... Thick and rich meaty marinara with shredded mozzarella with a few dashes of oregano/marjoram, thyme and onion & garlic powder aka Italian poutine or the ground beef can be made with taco seasoning, topped with grated cheddar, black olives, a dollop of sour cream and/or avocado/guacamole to make them more of a Mexican theme! Heather xo (I would add shredded rotisserie chicken to increase the protein and offset so many carbs)

I have to say a usual Friday's dinner looks gorgeous mmm.
Superb ideas as always. I’ve taken to buying fresh cod and battering it myself it’s just as good as fish and chip shop fare and so much cheaper.

Totally agree👍 Haddock is the best! Get back to the beef dripping chips!
Haddock is also a sustainable fish unlike Cod.

Hiya, things appear to be going down fast in Scotland BUT at least the Food looks still very GOOD!
Meals look good Cheryl. Love the way you did your stuffing , all fancy in a patty. I was intrigued when the picture came up of Sunday what the chicken was on!! That meal looked so delicious with the poached chicken on the top, the mashed swede & croquettes & cauliflower. Apart from the chicken I have everything to make this so going food shopping on Wednesday always buy chicken so definable going to try poaching it for a change. We like loaded fries but haven't had them for a while. Have you tried poutine fries ? It's really just chips, cheese & gravy really but its delicious. If I've made pulled pork the day before the next day sometimes I do this with the pork on top, so chips , some cheese, pork & the gravy then more cheese on top. Naughty but very very nice. That chicken looked nice with the glaze on top, chicken salad 🥗 on a nice day whats not to like.

We love BBQ, onions, jalapenos, cheese, or Taco meat & toppings or bacon, green onions (Spring onions) & cheese or chili--almost anything on fries!!! Good choice to do loaded fries!!! A little Ranch with it--yes! Midwest's finest.

Alas, I’ve tried a couple of Aldis battered fish here in the US, the cod and the haddock, and it’s just not that good. I’m originally from Scotland and the first thing I have eat on my first night back home for a visit is fish and chips. 🏴🇺🇸

Today we had cheese tortellini in rose sauce with lobster and spinach mixed in. Very non traditional Easter dinner, but delicious.
We like to make Sloppy Joe loaded fries too. It is a nice change.

Hi Cheryl, happy Easter! Just a quick question. When you have chips, you never mention whether or not you have vinegar on them? When we first arrived in Australia (*last century!) they thought we were barmy for putting vinegar on our chips - but we thought they were barmy for having gravy on theirs! We are happy with either now, or even BBQ sauce - but still can't do the tomato sauce!
How do you meal plan? Do you have a set list of meals? Or have regular staples? That would be an interesting video.

I live in Southern California and have never seen curry offered at Asian restaurants/take-aways.
It’s a UK thing,have you seen French fries either? The 3 most popular Chinese dishes in the UK seem to be Sweet,and sour chicken balls,salt,and pepper chicken,and chicken curry,non of which are on the menus in NYC.

What's corn mince?
Quorn is a Mycoprotein grown and formed into different foods. They make all sorts with it including mince, nuggets and roasts.
