I am SUPER dry and it doesnt seem to matter how much really good skincare routine I have. morning and night nit to mention literally do what you described - every single day and night and a half hour pre makeup application and for some reason foundation doesnt sit well. I dermaplane and exfoliate every week with a gentle exfoliant (ie:lactic or glycolic acid from the Ordinary) I always ends up with a kind of patchy flaky cheek and temple area 😭😭 Anyone any ideas. I drink plenty of water. Would I need to take a supplement?
I have been using this foundation for about 6 months. I absolutely love it. I noticed having quite a bit of peeling and flaking for the 1st couple weeks and didn’t have a clue why. I almost gave up on it! But, then I realized it could be the salicylic acid. I hung in there and noticed each morning I started having less and less of the peeling/flaking until I had none. My skin has never looked better. The texture, pores, even color, … I honestly cannot believe it when I look in the mirror. I’m 55 and finally found a foundation that does more for my skin than cover the problems.
You are my skin twin! I have been waiting for this one as a long-time Clinique wearer. I knew you would be Alabaster as that is my shade in all their foundations 😊 The brand is perfect for my sensitive skin and find it quite underrated on UA-cam in general. Thanks for the review!
Can you give a brief description of the different Clinique foundations you’ve tried? I want to get one but I’m not sure which one, for dry skin, medium Coverage...we can’t go to the store to try yet and I’m impatient, lol
Cant tell you how much I love your content🌞👍🌞. Ur so down-to-earth and straightforward...I never feel like I being "sold", but instead we're getting the important details re: ease of application, coverage, skin feel, color match, wear over time, and especially your positive energy!! 🎉😌🎉 Excited to watch your back log of so many foundations I've been curious about how they wear on someone my age!! TY TY TY💌
I absolutely LOVE this serum foundation! The Clinique consultant gave me a sample...enough for 2 weeks. Here’s the kicker....I am 73 years young and I absolutely love trying new foundations and blushes...and bronzers, etc. This foundation looks beautiful on!! I used a sponge and wha-la....flawless and it wore amazing for 10 to. 12 hours!!! It looked better hour by hour. TRY It ladies!!!
I was really hoping you'd review this one. I haven't found a Clinique foundation that I really love, but I wanted to try this one. I'm really hoping you'll be reviewing the new Shiseido Synchro radiant (I can't remember the exact title, lol)!
It's right up my alley! I know a lot of people are digging light coverage lately, but my go-to is exactly this. I like a solid medium coverage. It's just my favorite look!
I don't hate this serum foundation by Clinique. I might like it more in the summer. Not too many foundations actually look okay on my forever old dry skin and this product doesn't highlight my dry patches or overly accentuate my wrinkles and the coverage is surprisingly good. Right now, I'm alternating between this Clinique serum foundation and Ilia's serum foundation, which I think I prefer. However, Clinique's products are so affordable.
When you said Mork from Ork came to mind - it made me remember that Morks' son (Jonathan Winters) was "Hatched" from a big white egg shaped spaceship! That might be why your mind went there like that. Have a great weekend!

Your skin looks amaizing. I want to try the Clinique now. I am fair, super dry and 48 years old. I am totally feeling you with the skin dryness right now. Cerave healing ointment over all my skincare helps.
I'm in the same shade for Clinique. This arrived yesterday! The concealer that goes with it is soooo amazing! Try the concealer! If you've never tried their blush that has a flower imprint on it....TO DIE FOR! I'm also really enjoying their bronze and highlighter. They have an excellent mascara that lengthens (makes tubes and rubs off with water), and my all time favorite lipstick is Think Bronze, which isn't bronze at all, lol! Do a full face, Shelly!!! Is that Tokyo Lights I see??? After reading all that I bet you were SOHO OVER IT 😆
Shelly so glad it kinda worked for you.I have super dry skin and i put this onandit was like theatre makeup. I really wanted to like this. I felt my skin tightening
I think the finish and color look great even after 12 hours. Except where you already had issues or had to blow your nose, it seems to have degraded nicely.
Thanks for all of your reviews! My mom got me started wearing CLINIQUE products when I was 15 and I’ve been wearing them ever since!! U and I are the same shade and undertones! Thanks for this!! I am 47 now :)) and I’ve gotten my daughters wearing Clinique now and they love it! So good for our skin!! And I’ve tried ALOT OF BRANDS!
Your skin looked great with no makeup! I love Clinique and grew up on it, but I tend to avoid the foundations and concealers because the shades are so confusing. They’ll have like 20 shades that are called “fair.” Alabaster is my go to shade.
SO confusing!!!!!!! On top of it I wouldn't call this shade "very fair" which is what they call it. I'd call it mid to late end of the fair range. It was a total guess on this shade but I got lucky!
Clinique foundations have always worked pretty well for me, and this one is quite tempting...but until I cull some of my lesser-used (never-used?) products, I just can't justify the purchase. Great review, though, and it looked really pretty on you! And I swear I'm falling in luv with that cat--so glad she chose to make an appearance.
Oh, having the dry flaky nose already and then having to blow it throughout the day, the struggle is real! This is my problem a lot of the time and I hate it. It seems like wearing a mask makes my nose run worse too, so there's that piece of wonderfulness also. I don't think any foundation could handle that.
Thanks for the post. I went into our Walgreens to look for the WW concealer, they didn't carry. Ours is small. Sad, but they did have the highlighter & you are right. It is beautiful. I am really into using concealer as foundations lately. I tend not to get to much product, a problem I have w/ foundations.
New to your channel, as I was just searching for a review of this foundation. I did the Clinique shade match (analyzes your skin tone through your phone camera and recommends a shade) and it suggested this same shade. My dry, 49yo face is happy to have found you. Subbed!
Maybe you should try a Clinique foundation that's meant for dry skin. That was a great color match, which should be easy for you with Clinique because they have way too many cool shades and basically no true neutrals, so good for you but bad for people like me. I know how uncomfortable dry face skin patches can be. When that happens to me I use a face oil over my moisturizer and it really helps me. Ever tried that?
First of all, you look lovely in this video. I love your sweater! I was a long time devotee of Clinique products. I have always had very dry sensitive skin, and I could count on Clinique not to irritate my skin. In the early 80’s I basically followed what my mother used. I started with Ultima II and at a certain point I switched to Clinique. Even though I loved their moisturizers, I was never fully satisfied with their foundations. It wasn’t until I tried to branch out to other brands, that I realized there were foundations that worked better for me. However, I still think their Intense Hydrator is one of the best non-irritating moisturizers.
You're very kind to this one! My chin looks bad, smile lines bad, upper lip bad, nose a hot mess, textured forehead, lines on forehead all bad... other than that my face looks great!😃I loved the shade but sounds like the rest is a pass for anyone with skin that gets dehydrated.. Great revieew- always love your foundation reviews!
Beautiful looking foundation in a Mork & Mindy space-egg bottle (or is it the egg-ship the girl leaves in at the end of Men in Black II?) complete with an extended Ziva cameo - what more could a girl ask for?!
I've heard mixed reviews about this product, but glad that it worked out for you! I tend to only trust your reviews of base products! On a side note, after watching your review on the l'oreal age perfect foundation, I tried it and I'm loving it!
I'm so glad!! That Age Perfect is brilliant - the whole line, really. I've not only liked everything from that line, but full on love it all. I'm pretty sure I've tried at least one of everything - last thing I have to try is the primer, which just arrived from CVS :)
I just love this on you Shelly! I'm not sure if can wear this as I'm the palest of pale. Typical Irish skin unfortunately. 90% of foundations look yellow on me
I tend to like Clinique foundations. The CliniqueFIT foundation is my ALL TIME FAVORITE foundation ever made. It’s discontinued now. They advertised it for workout makeup, and I wish they would’nt have bc I think they threw people off from trying it, but it was bomb. I was interested in this one. It’s just a little more expensive then I like to spend, but it does have really good skin care in it. I’ll probably wind up getting it, bc I tend to like Clinique base products. They’re underrated!
Hi Shelley happy to see a good one as the last couple weren't so good on you. I know clinique recently updated their shade range a little, so i'll have a look at this one. My skin is dry, but i don't have flaky patches so it might be fine. I usually wear a primer in the centre of the face to blur pores with most foundations anyway. It also helps stop my dry skin eating the foundation during the day. I tend to sheer out foundations on the perimeter, as I need more coverage in the centre (rosacea). i'm using the revolution cc cream just now mainly as the 0.5 is such a good shade match. I lightly set it with powder and it lasts fairly well. As always I'm still on the search for a foundation that really looks good all day, but due to shade issues not every range works for me (including many of the A's). Best wishes.
Thanks, Kim! I haven't decided if I'm going to buy the Fenty powder only because I very rarely wear powder foundation. I have a couple that I use for setting foundations that need setting, but most powders alone are too dry on me :( so they don't review well anyway.
I think this was one of the Clinique foundations Ulta was offering as a Diamond gift. I ended up getting a mascara because I couldn’t figure out what shade I’d need. Now I’m kind of kicking myself. It looks really great on you.
The foundation is the perfect shade for you. Very smoothing, and I can't see dryness on your face. I'm not a fan of the ABH mascara. It dried out pretty quickly. Good choice, Shelly. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ❤❤
I have it in my cart and trying to decide if I want to test it on 63 yr old skin... LOL, love that Bloom palette. I thought this foundation looked beautiful when you put it on and even at your sunset... have you tried Truth Treatment? I just purchased these very pricey products; you may want to consider the Omega 6 Healing Cream (splurge on the spoon because you only need 1/3 of pea size)... this stuff carries a punch and the most hydrating cream I've ever used. Pricey but worth every cent. I think the .5oz will last 6 months or more. xo
Wow, you took me back to a few memories today. Do you remember when the song The Streak was popular? And I think I watched every episode of Mork and Mindy. Robin was such a special person. Do you remember what that show spun off from? As many have said, you look really beautiful today (well whenever you taped this) but you're always beautiful so I'm sure it applies anyway! I've gotten to the point now that I can just about guess what grade you're going to give them. I'm always happy when I get it right. I hope you're having a great weekend! Take care and big hugs, Kara
@@goow it was a spin off of Happy Days, believe it or not. Yes, Robin was a genius. I hate that he's gone but what he was going through was apparently he**! I hope you're doing good and staying warm! Take care and big hugs, Kara
I’m 26 and have your skin at 46 🙀 You’re a magician. I also have the same eyebrows as you! Full in the middle and with one of my tails the hairs grow upwards. I hope I can age well. Please give me a skin care routine!
Thanks, Alex!! Sunscreen is the key - for real! Minimum SPF 30 every single day, and if you're outside, reapply often. The rest of my routine is almost entirely geared to reversing the damage I did by not wearing sunscreen daily until I was 35. I use Vitamin C in the mornings, retinol at nights, weekly AHA/BHA acid toner, and lots and lots of moisturizer and moisturizing sprays/essences/toners!
Hi Shelly. I think it looked great on your skin! I may give it a try. Your eye look is stunning! Second I saw it the ABH Modern Renaissance palette came to mind and I'm going to try to recreate the look tomorrow. Also, love your earrings. As always, great review!
This one is still in my wearing rotation! It's such a pretty finish. It's best on me with a pore blurring primer since it doesn't do much to hide my pores but it's very smoothing on texture.
So excited to see what you think if this I was disappointed by the shade range but I can't stop eyeing it lol Girl my skin was so dry I had to go ally turn the humidifier on and step it up on my skin care finally back to normal dry/combo lol humidifier was my skins life saver this winter has just been awful. Your skin still looks beautiful ❤️ you do not look your age at all just saying!! 😁
Despite the sun going down before your daylight check-in, the shade looked very good here Shelly. I agree that using a brush left a smoother finish. I wonder if this is one of those foundations that will be less dry-feeling during warmer months? :)
Love your reviews! I like the atmosphere a lot! I do have a question, any foundations you recommend for a 21 year old dry skin? I don't really look for a really high coverage foundation, anything you may recommend?
Thanks, Diana! Check out my master list - scroll down to the spreadsheet and at the top right of the spreadsheet, put "hydrating" in the search box. That'll bring up all of the foundations I think are hydrating, ranked best to worst - geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/ and all the info on coverage, finish, etc is listed too with links back to the original reviews :)
Looks fantastic... your whole makeup is gorgeous! I’m going to have to try this. I’ve been tossing up between this and Elizabeth Ardens flawless finish skincare foundation... can you review it too? Pretty please? 😄💜
Thanks for the update on the concealer. I went for it and purchased it and I'm really happy with it. I was hooked on elf hydrating camo for a long bit but it was starting to look crackly. This one is perfect 👌 Thanks for reviewing that one. Loved this review but I think I'll stick with the colourpop pretty fresh foundation 😉🥰
Great review Shelly! I may give this a go toward summertime and will definitely try the concealer! You look so pretty today and the earrings are smashing. I’d like to ask which eyeshadow primer you use. I use the Fenty primer and as with all others, my shadow looks muddy after a few hours. I’m always gobsmacked at how fresh your shadow looks at the end of the day. Ziva tickles me and I’m so happy to see her sweet face. Keep it up Ziva! Sending hugs from snowy Seattle! 🐈🐾🐾
I've been so curious about this foundation. It was such a good match for you. I've reached a point where nothing will disguise maturity, so I look for the other elements now. I had to laugh watching the excruciating process of bringing in the drywall! 🤣Thanks Shelly, and as always, stay safe!❤
StriVectin Line Blur-Fector is my all-time favorite! I also go through a lot of the CoverGirl TruBlend primers (I have all of the variations and they all work well). I also love the Good Molecules Silicone Free priming moisturizer but it's a little bit less on the smoothing.

You do look really good in this video.
I love youre personality 💕! And alsow rewiev on the foundation i thinking of buying! Thank you 🙂
Yay!!!!! Stoked is a good word! Keep it up, man! You’re doing great! Thank you 🙏 have a glorious weekend 🤟🏼
Looked pretty flawless to me👍
What light is that in your background pouring like waterfall it's so beautiful is available online??
I got it from Home Depot! go.magik.ly/ml/1sioz/
I don't remember what it came from! I do miss him. Brilliant.
Have you tried their Even Better regular?? Would love a comparison between the two
I haven't yet but added it to my list!
My skin gets so dry I have to put cerave ointment on top of my skincare. It works though. Thanks for this review, I want to get a sample before I buy.
Yay I’ve been waiting to hear your review on this ⭐️💛💕!
Hi Shelly. I think it looked great on your skin! I may give it a try. Your eye look is stunning! Second I saw it the ABH Modern Renaissance palette came to mind and I'm going to try to recreate the look tomorrow. Also, love your earrings. As always, great review!
I love your reviews! Also think your skin looks great without foundation. 😍👍
I've gone back in time, really loving the look of this foundation... do you still like it I'm older than you so would love an update x 💞
This one is still in my wearing rotation! It's such a pretty finish. It's best on me with a pore blurring primer since it doesn't do much to hide my pores but it's very smoothing on texture.
@@goow Fantastic, thanks you. I'd also need a blurring primer but loved how it looked on you x 💞
So excited to see what you think if this I was disappointed by the shade range but I can't stop eyeing it lol
Girl my skin was so dry I had to go ally turn the humidifier on and step it up on my skin care finally back to normal dry/combo lol humidifier was my skins life saver this winter has just been awful. Your skin still looks beautiful ❤️ you do not look your age at all just saying!! 😁
This looks beautiful on you!! I may have to give it a whirl. I wonder if it would hold up under a mask??🤷🏼♀️
It stays put pretty well under my sunglasses, so maybe!
I just bought this today while I was in Ulta . I came home and tried it. So far, so good. I hope it stays this good. Lol
I'm still having good luck with it! =D I hope you do too!
@@goow awesome news! Thank you!
Yay! Finally one that worked!
Ulta has $10 off $30 for Clinique products today
Ooooh thanks for sharing this!!!
Looks fantastic... your whole makeup is gorgeous! I’m going to have to try this. I’ve been tossing up between this and Elizabeth Ardens flawless finish skincare foundation... can you review it too? Pretty please? 😄💜
Love your earrings
DOES THIS CONTAIN ALCOHOL ? :-). love your reviews.
Hi Anna! Yes, it does contain denatured alcohol.
Hey Shelly! Do you still like this foundation? I am trying to use more healthier for in nations..with mineral sunscreen.
Thanks!!!
Hi Kimmy! Yep I do! I just brought it with me on a trip =D
What are some of your favorite pore/wrinkle smoothing primers? I have very similar skin to you...
StriVectin Line Blur-Fector is my all-time favorite! I also go through a lot of the CoverGirl TruBlend primers (I have all of the variations and they all work well). I also love the Good Molecules Silicone Free priming moisturizer but it's a little bit less on the smoothing.
