Merry Christmas, Shelly! I hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends🎄 I use those wooden popsicle sticks to scoop out my face creams, etc. I like that they are environmentally friendly, reusable, and that they scoop out more than a smidgen of product. Thanks for another year of fun and informative videos!
I just dont understand why all high end companies use fragrance in foundation (and creams), they’d be able to sell more without it as more users could wear it
I'm not a marketing person, but I think it's a branding thing. And I very much agree with you! I absolutely have to avoid fragrance in skin care and makeup because of my sensitive skin. To me, fragrance free products are more upscale, but, given how popular fragranced products are, I guess I'm very much in the minority.
Most people actually prefer fragrance, it contributes to the whole experience of using a luxury product. Although the fragrance avoiders tend to be louder and more obnoxious, the people who like fragrance buy the products. Nobody cares if you can or can’t wear it.
@@JONAC-CANOJ I don't know anyone in my life who prefers fragrance in products, especially face products like foundation. And there's nothing 'obnoxious' about pointing out that fragrance can cause reactions on sensitive skin or is a migraine trigger for many people. I avoid so many luxury brands because of overuse of fragrance and I spend my money elsewhere.
@@JONAC-CANOJ I actually don’t know anyone who prefers fragrance. And I know nobody cares if I can wear it or not. My skin is too sensitive. I am saying they would get more sales by taking out the fragrance. No one buys a foundation because they like their face to smell like an old nana rose smell. They buy it for performance and how it looks I didn’t ask for people to care if I can’t wear it, what a mean thing to say. And saying the ones who can’t wear it are louder and obnoxious 😳. That’s because the ones that can’t wear it don’t need to say anything. You don’t need to reply to me as you have nothing nice to say
Shelly, I've really enjoyed your Vlogsmas Series! The Dior foundation looks beautiful on you. And, the eyes eventually came together. LOL. I've had that happen to me too with other palettes...so frustrating. Thank you for continuing to make amazing videos!
I also have dry skin and used to really struggle with flaking. I started using glycolic acid once or twice a week. My skin does really well with it and I no longer have flaking like I used to. It’s been a major game changer for me. I’ve never used a stick foundation but I’ve been tempted to try this for travel. Milani just launched a new stick foundation that’s getting really good reviews. I might try it first to see if it’s a format I like.
Merry Christmas in advance, Shelly! 🎉 That colour match is perfection! (So I know that's my shade too!). I've heard mixed reviews about this stick foundation but having watched your video, the longevity has sealed the deal for me, as a nurse lol! And I'm excited for the Fenty r/v! Best wishes x
Hello Shelly! Thanks for the foundation review. I'm very tempted, I can't justify it right now. I just purchased a Merit stick foundation. Totally changing the subject.. I just got my first Sancheu lip stain. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm loving it! I have a very similar skin tone to yours, dark hair. I'm wondering if you have any swatches or favorites for your skin tone? I'm not a warm lip color girl.
Shelly!!!! My skincare arrived today!!!! I am so excited!!!! ❤ I’m trying the Dior stick as well. I’m using 0N. The jury is still out… I don’t feel like it ever truly sets in place. I need to experiment with different primers I think. 🤔
Yay I hope you love it, Amy!!! I wore primer Thurs and Fri 13-14 hours. All good. Today no primer and it'll be another 14 hour day. It looked good upon application - we'll see!
Hey Shelly. I need your expertise. I am now 46, soon to be 47. Honestly I have fought the time bitch and I have put up the good fight using some of your recommendations like the 7 skins. But here is a recent thing I noticed. My chin. I swear. My skin tone is great. My lines are minimal. But holey smokes I think whatever signs of aging i have now show up on my chin. When I wear makeup I swear there is this weird heavy look that has never been there before. It just looks older. Help. Any recommendation is appreciated. Plus that foundation is glorious. It's there something similar without the fragrance? I love Dior and Chanel but both really react with my skin with the fragrance.
My chin is never entirely cooperative with foundation - but I do find that silicone primers help my chin and I'll even use a little concealer or my MAC Paint Pot (which I use on my eyelids as primer) on my chin very lightly under foundation and it helps keep things together. In my case, for some reason my chin foundation tends to break apart and bunch up throughout the day. I do with we had more fragrance free foundation options. Unfortunately the ones that are the most beautiful on me all have fragrance. NARS Light Reflecting is probably the least fragranced of my favorites.
I do not appreciate a foundation that I could also use as my signature scent in the same purchase!😜😜 For that price, I want it to unload the dishwasher and put everything away, then load the dishwasher with dirty stuff in the sink! 🤣
Yes! I got 2 Shelly's in 1 day. One this AM and then the other tonight. Also, one of your antlers is missing a ball. Not sure I said in my last comment that I wasn't a lover of that ND palette. Hope that you have a great selling weekend. I'll take care of me but please take care of yourself.
I'm so confused by this because I returned the Dior stick (Only 2 makeup items I've ever returned) because it enhanced my pores that i didn't know I had and wore off terribly. Not sure what I did wrong because we usually agree on good foundations (similar age/skin type) and it looks GREAT on you. 😊
This looks so gorgeous on you Shelly but I just can't do the fragrance! Swatched this on my hand in Boots and it's so gorgeous and creamy but I can't hack the overwhelming fragrance, and it didn't really fade either. You look fantastic though!
I found that foundation sank right into my pores. Hot n Flashy did too. I also hated the strong fragrance. Ended up returning it. I still prefer the Basma foundation stick, which doesn’t sink into pores and has no fragrance.
I had to send mine back because of the fragrance. I did not apply to my face because it may have caused to allergic reaction. Companies need to remove fragrance from facial products. I have tried mascara with fragrance. Happy Holidays to your and your kitties.
Hi Shelly, thanks for the video! I wish I could try that foundation, but the fragrance makes it a no go for me. Not only does it have added fragrance, it has Iris Florentina Root Extract, a fragrant ingredient, in the ingredients list above the fragrance!!! No wonder the fragrance is so heavy. However, I think you're right, and the product is vegan. Note that I'm not vegan or vegetarian, and I'm not accustomed to checking ingredients lists for non vegan ingredients. But although, as you noted, the product has several waxes, they all appear to be plant based. And it has Saccharomyces Ferment which is a yeast product. I'm assuming that's acceptable to vegans because yeasts are fungi. I had to look that up; it wasn't part of my general knowledge!
Great, I've wondered about that foundation BUT, there is one that has been Raved about, The Ciele Foundation, tint, whatever it's called. Please do a review. It's the only foundation type product they have. They are also supposed to do a great concealer, and their bronzer is supposed to be da bomb!
Dangit! I had this line in the sand.... about buying Dior. ANd highly fragranced foundations after the Wet N Wild paint. Now we need a trial size??? Dior? Ya listening?
If you've not tried Dior before then Wet n Wild Photo Focus paint smell is preferable. That dissipates quickly and I know I'm not going to get a fragrance allergy from it. Dior Forever Matte is technically my HG foundation but the fragrance is too strong and for me it never fully dissipates. This stick is *much* stronger than the regular already-too-strong liquid foundations. If you're sensitive to fragrance, move on, no matter how gorgeous it sounds (and it's a big shame. I'm sad but I can't tolerate it).
When I was a little kid, I would sniff my mother's Oil of Olay bottle and marvel at the taste of violets at the back of my tongue. These days, though, I don't want strong perfumes on my skin--strong enough to taste, yikes! Gorgeous finish though!
THANK YOU for pointing out how STRRRRRONGLY FRAGRANCED the Dior stick foundation is 😮🙄🤦♀️!!! I thought I was the only one who’d thought it was a bit overbearing when all the other influencers made it seem like a “barely there” noticeable scent 😏💁♀️. But it is absolutely one of the best performing stick foundations I’ve ever used, and trust me , at my age of 60 I’ve tried them ALL at every price point 😊!! Again, thank you so much for your candid and honest reviews ☺️👍👏!!!
I too am quite sensitive to fragrance to the point where I had to return the Guerlain foundation that everyone was raving about a couple of years ago,due the scent lingering all day. This one is strong at the very first but like Shelly said it disappears by the time I’m done applying all of my makeup.

This has become one of my new faves in my collection. I have the same shade as you. It looks so beautiful on the skin!

I wore it for 14 hours yesterday too and same result - it wears really well! Today will be another 14 hours lol.
Absolutely love this foundation and your hair is gorgeous. Loving the new color!
You made your own primer!!!
That’s exciting
Gorgeous! That foundation looks phenomenal on you.
What foundation brush did you use?? The foundation looks great! Thank you for testing it out for us!!
It's the Artis Oval 7 brush - amzn.to/3P5P5UD
I received my awesome Shelly skincare and I'm excited to try it out!
I hope you love it!!!

The red one is great, and my favorites are the mauve and berry ish ones - MU-AUVE and PLUMPed I think are the names.
Did you set your face and under your eyes with loose powder? If so, what did you use?
I’d like to see you try the new Dolce&Gabanna matte fluid foundation.
Added to my list! Thanks!!
Thanks Shelly….im going to splash out on this. If it’s good for you it’s good for me ! Love your reviews. Xxx
My normal/normal to dry skin also Loves this one!! My one time test of the new (revised) Chanel Ultra Teint Velvet was also a pleasant surprise.
I'm on day 4 in a row wearing the Dior with a variety of primer/no-primer and it's been fantastic every day. Definitely a win for me!
@@goow Win for me too!
I like the fragrance ❤
A0A has the little spoons for dipping into little jars - lots of them
Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays to you too, Bekki!!
I love this one, except the heavy fragrance. I like the Fenty one too but the Dior beats that, it’s just easy to apply and lasts a very long day!
