Astronomy is the study of space, things in space, and things that happen in space. How cool would it be to have some missions of the campaign be something like this? Just flying a fortress of a craft with an insanely high health pool (with the health regen ability as a standard) while you manage the craft's superweapons playing out the role of a "boss" unit on the protagonist's team. Sure, your maneuverability would be somewhat sluggish, but the power you wield would make up for it.
If i remember the lore material correctly, the Arkbird was used to clear the remaining Ulysses fragments that stayed in orbit. That could be a really fun space mission just like AC3
Everytime I listen to this ost it makes me emotional. Ace combat on the PS2 with that old box TV was such a pivotal game of my childhood, and I love every soundtrack for it.
I have absolutely always loved the beautifully elegant design of the Arkbird. Reminds me a lot of Concorde. Would love to just play around with it's 3d model lol

honestly, at this point Project Aces should just release a Sandbox game a la Vector Thrust and let us mod them to no end, just puting a point system locked by the parameters of the aircraft used in the mod (turn,yaw,speed for example). or maybe license the planes and let us go wild building our frankestein planes (like the Parts systems on F-zero GX. we could for example use the wings of the SU-47, the body of the F-22 and the Cockpit of the Shinden II to make a monstrosity of a plane).
the only thing left is making a mod that brings the arsenal bird to our control... its laser would be its gun.. the UAV its missiles and the VLS missiles its SPW

That was Ace Combat X with it's PSMing B-2 Spirits. Granted there were several recycled things from AC5 in ACX so I guess that still counts.
