This is a great point about doctors being upfront with the patient about what they can help with and what they cannot help with and the expectations for the future. I had neck surgery in 2020 with a horrible outcome and then a revision surgery in early 2023 with a much better outcome but I still have chronic pain coming from my neck. Back in 2020 I never thought my life will be so limited from that point on. Again, clear expectations and potential outcomes.
