- In this episode, I am continuing the ride towards Alaska! After a break of a few weeks, Dhanno and I are both ready to start riding again. In this video, I'm riding from Salta to Tilcara, Argentina. On the way, I'm passing by Purmamarca, the 7 coloured mountain - what an incredible geological feature!
In Salta I had to change my rear tyre for the second time during this adventure. I have ridden about 8,000 kilometers with the Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara, but all the riding over volcanic sediments and sharp gravel took their toll. It was not easy to find a new rear tyre in Salta, but eventually I found a Pirelli MT-60 again, so that's what I bought to continue my journey with!

I was at the Progressive international motorcycle show in Minneapolis Minnesota last week and stopped by the Royal Enfield display. Everyone, and i mean everyone, was talking about you. From young women to old men, you were the hero. I don't know if you realize what a massive hero figure you are. Keep it up. The consensus was that Ewan and Charlie are doing it with a support team, but you are doing it on your own.
It was both amazing and for you maybe shocking. I suspect there are millions that know of you. Even outside the RE display i heard people talking of you.
I suspect you didn't intend to be almost a cult idol, but even I was surprised at how many people were talking about you. I suspect you could stay free at people's homes almost anywhere.

Completely agree with Mike. You looked wonderful after that break. I'm 84 and and emotional, but it brings tears to my eyes to see you back and so happy to be back on the road again. Do be careful, though, Noraly. It makes me nervous to see you riding one-handed along some of those roads with a drop beside you, and taking video with the other. I know you're a safe and accomplished rider, we can see that, but would be terrible if you had an accident doing that. Very best wishes for a safe and happy trip.

@@G100666 I agree, It would give our intrepid explorer more time to rest, enjoy and do other things and maybe then a slightly longer video at the end of each week? I personally enjoy the longer videos as they become more emersive, though I understand not everyone agrees.
I think Noraly will find the ballance that suits her best, we are just lucky to be invited along :o)

It's radio therapy necrosis. I had radio therapy for cancer 10 years ago, the necrosis is where the bone touched by the RT dies off. In my case I have lost my lower jaw and the top of my esophagus, so now I have to feed through a tube in my stomach.
Unfortunately, it is extremely painful, like having tooth ache in every tooth in your mouth, only I have no teeth, the pain comes from all the exposed nerve endings left behind where the soft tissue has receded after the bone rotted away and left huge gaps. It is slowly making its way up and down, we're hopeful that it doesn't get to the bones in the upper face, or jump from the top of the esophagus to the spine for a while yet but either of those scenarios are an end game situation.
Sorry that was so long but its a complicated complaint and needs some explanation. Thank you again fore your kind wishes xx

Hi Noraly, So glad to have you back. During your break I was able to watch all of your old videos but now I’m anxious for new ones. I’m a volcanologist who worked in Patagonia in the early 2000’s ( Mt. Hudson). Really enjoyed your mini geology lession in the new video! The scenery you’ve been going through is just breathtaking and so interesting to a geologist. Had a motocyle 40 years ago but now I get to ride along with you. Best of luck and safe travels!

I’m addicted to your adventures! Noraly, your choices are good and you manage to show us things we’d never see on our own. My last bike was a 1973 Norton 750cc Atlas. It was stolen from me and I think that thief saved my life because my driving was beyond crazy. I have five drones now. The DJI Mavic pro is my favorite. I’m a Chicago boy, Phoenix, AZ resident that spends too much time in Los Angeles.
A friend of mine, (certainly not me) who was missing you, was so excited to see your first video after the break and your smiling face and smiling attitude that he became very emotional. In fact, my friend, (again, certainly not me) saw the beauty of the 7 colored mountain and burst into tears. He (certainly not me) is such a sissy. As a newbe, in 2022 I didn’t appreciate your break. I enjoy whatever you tube puts out on a day by day basis. I could have watched episodes from the beginning but for some reason I enjoy whatever comes up. And your history/ geography lessons as well as the amazing scenery. Thank you Noraly.
Love your natural history and geology inputs - it's unusual and makes a nice change or addition to the commentary! With "phyllite" and "unconformity" you lifted it a notch.

Origins of Dhanno & Basanti:
Considered the most pathbreaking & epic Bollywood movie of all time - Sholay (1975).
Basanti was lead lady who drove horse carriages for a living in "wild wild west" of India.
Dhanno was the trustworthy horse (or i should say mare) running on the whiteboard Indian outskirts saving Basanti against the big bad boy goons in the movie.
Look up those names on UA-cam. 😂😂
PS: Had to share this because it is simply one of my favorite movies and this mind-blowing name for the Royal Enfield Himalayan for Noraly. Absolute epic. 😃

Do be careful, though, may we recommend you carry a can of Bear or Dog Spray especially in North America and Alaska. It also makes use nervous to see you riding one-handed along some of those roads with a drop beside you, and taking video with the other.
We know you're a safe and accomplished rider, we can see that, but would be terrible if you had an accident doing that.

Funny enough, at stage 50, I also took a brake from watching Itchy Boots. It was then great to see Noraly again, all fresh ans smiling as if we were both starting again. I know that it dates bac 2 years but for me, it is actual. I saw season 5 but look forward to continue though season 2, 3, 4 and later, season 6. Farewell Noraly and thank you 👍👍👍

How good it is to have our old Noraly back! When I have been telling people about your Chanel (and I tell everyone I talk to!) I tell them how refreshing it is to watch because you are always happy and enthusiastic. Never complaining. It’s what makes your tales so good to watch. Before your break your sparkle had started to fade.
You must do whatever you must do to keep that sparkle, if that means one video a week then so be it.
