    Hello, I've been following the pattern and the video together. Everything is going well until the end. When I slip the stitches back on the needle from the stitch holder and start trying to repeat the pattern on this second side the stitches are a complete mess and all bulgy. It's happened twice now. I'm obviously putting them back on the needle incorrectly but I don't what I'm doing wrong exactly? Any help would be much appreciated!

    Finished one, but I think that I did the m1 wrong because I have gaps all around the border. Also I either did the Kitchener stitch wrong or it's just not a very pretty stitch... Either way I had fun making it. I made it very small, but it would be fun to make extra large as a pillow like you've done in your other video.

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  11 років тому

      aww I'm sorry :/ yes! Extra large pillow is fun! Good luck, I hope it turns out better

    Alright, I am confused again. 7:18 put last 7 sts on a stitch holder and here where I get confused, "Put the 1st 7 sts on the stitch holder." How are the sts away from the yarn the 1st sts and how can even do it if I using the magic loop. In your details, it said this can be done with the opt of doing magic loop so I am using the magic loop and do not see how get the right sts onto a stitch holder. Could u pls clarify this part. Thanks iKNITS.

  • @j2cool2
    @j2cool2 11 років тому

    Yup! Its me again. It is getting crazy confusing and I ran into a problem again now we are at the decreasing. I seem to have too many sts after doing it. There are 4 left b4 repeating the decrease on the other side. Since this was a quick knit, could u pls make a vid doing this using the magic loop so I can see how to do it that way. I guess I gotta rip this out n try again with double pt needles n ck my count but I nvr knit in the rnd that way either we will c. Really could another vid pls. Ty

  • @j2cool2

    This is a nice vid. I just wanted to point out the reason Chop Lammy might have had difficulty is because in the beginning at 5:49 you said to knit to the last stitch and make one but in the text for same instructions, you have up to knit the 2nd to last stitch, not the last one so it kinda confusing. Usually knitting to the last stitch would mean to go just before the last stitch knit not knitting the one before to be counted as the last stitch; hope my heart shape weird. I'll let u know. :)

  • @j2cool2
    @j2cool2 11 років тому

    Ok, I think I got around the missing instructions for the larger heart. This is just a suggestion for Kitchener sts. There are some beginners and even some advance that may have never done it that would need to know, you have to cut yarn to do it. You do not mention it (10:09). It is something that some knitter forget when giving instruction; an instruction that may seem obvious but not to someone who has not done it b4. Still gd vid just a few mis-steps. A little harder for a lefty to follow 2

  • @j2cool2

    Ah, ha! I know what happen. At 6:09 you repeat the increase until you have 14 sts (18) for a larger one and you forgot to include from this point on how to do the rest for a larger pillow i.e. more sts need to go on the holder and how to continue with other sts for the decrease on both sides in also missing for the larger pillow, this is why I have 2 many sts and it is also still different to do using magic loop for getting sts onto the stitch holder (a seperate problem I think I work out). HLP!

    I clicked on this video to see how people knit. That's crazy to me. I'm a crocheter because this is some tedious work. You have to flip the needles all the time, and be careful that no stitches fall off. Too much work for me. Haha

      How long have you been knitting? Were you following along with the written pattern? I'm sorry you think that but I wouldn't make this if you're a beginner. I would try something easier like a scarf, cowl, or a blanket. Then come back to this and it might be a little easier to understand. :(
