  • It's a party any time you use these cute star-shaped coasters! The tutorial takes you step-by-step through the Star Coaster knitting pattern by Edie Eckman.
    This pattern is suitable for beginning knitters who are comfortable with the knit stitch. Find the free pattern at www.edieeckman.com/star-coaster.
    Each coaster takes just 25-30 yards [23-27 m] of medium-weight yarn (see details below). Mix and match colors to increase your stash-busting potential. Or use a bulky wool and large needles to create a pot holder or hot pad!
    The following affiliate links provide a small amount of money to me but don't cost you anything extra.
    The yarn I’m using in the video is Red Heart Soft Yarn. Buy the yarn here:

    The straight knitting needles are Clover Takumi bamboo, size 5 mm. Buy the needles here: amzn.to/2WOcYTb
    The circular knitting needles are Addi Turbo Rocket, size 5 mm. Buy the needles ere: amzn.to/3eims2s

    Thank you! I enjoyed this video very much and I look forward to knitting these stars. You have a very nice calm way of explaining each step.

    I made this for my dad for Father's day, and I think this is really cool. I'm also going to make a couple of them for my teachers for the end of the year.

      You could always do the points in red and the center in brown.

    7:35 should we flip the needles again before we start row 4 or just continue the circle?

      You are working in rows, so you work back and forth throughout.

    hi! is it possible to make use this pattern and make a smaller star, and if so, how would you adjust it accordingly? :o any help would be appreciated!

      Just use smaller yarn and smaller needles and you'll get a smaller star.

      Are you looking at the pattern or just watching the video? You probably need to be working from the written pattern. If you are, then where are you getting stuck?

      Hi ok I think two stitch decrease row 9

    • @EdieEckman
      @EdieEckman  Рік тому

      @@user-ze8ld3db1p On Row 9, you do that double decrease all the way across the row. When you finish the row you have 5 stitches left. There are video and written tutorials on how to do the decrease. Be sure you are looking at the pattern, not just watching this video.
