I want to thank you for being so clear in your instructions. I was truely able to understand not only how to knit, purl, and rib stitch but I could understand my mistakes and correct them. Some may think this is tedious but I found that the little insights you give are very helpful.

I've watched a good 20 videos before finding this one and none of them were as helpful as this video. I understood what you said, you were slow and did the steps over again. so helpful! I caught on quickly because of you!

I crochet. Years ago I tried to learn to knit from a book. It was slow and felt clumsy in my hands. In the one step you covered about having the yard in the knit position and purl position makes things so much easier for me to learn. I believe the book probably was trying to tell me this but it just wasn’t getting thru to my brain. Your sweet voice helped so much. I’m going to try again with your tutorial and I know I will succeed. Thank you!

I just love this video. It took me two hours to learn knitting from complete zero. Thank you so much! All my life I wanted to learn to knitting, because I was always amazed by watching my grandmother doing this. Now I am 25 years old and finally I an starting it! There is going to be a lot of scarfs in my house now!

This is the best tutorial ever. I've spent the best part of a day trying to get this effect using other tutorials and I've had no success. From the casting on method to the purl method everything is perfect. I hope you've made other videos as your method and way of explaining is spot on. Thank you so much!

Thank you Gilly for posting this video. I've had the hardest time to do knit 1 purl 1. You showed me that my mistake was not bringing the yarn to the front or back by pulling it through the middle. I was pulling the yarn under the needles to the front or back. Made a big knit mess. I also was beginning my row with the last stitch I did. That didn't work either. You showed me how to tell the knit from the purl so I could determine which stitch to begin with. Thank you so very much. I finally can see that nice ribbing effect. I've crocheted for years and years and yet knitting seemed difficult. You're a wonderful teacher.

Thank you so much for your video! I knitted baby booties for my children over 40 years ago and haven't knitted since. I learned how to crochet a couple years ago using UA-cam videos and now I decided to learn to knit again because I have grandchildren who could use baby booties. I tried to crochet booties for them but couldn't find any patterns that were as cute as the ones my grandma and mom taught me a long time ago, so I decided to learn how to knit again. I still have the handwritten baby booties patterns in different sizes from my grandma and mom. Your video was SO HELPFUL! I had to rewind and rewind to get the casting on correctly, but I finally got it and now I'm doing the K1-P1 that the pattern calls for. Hopefully I can figure out the rest as I go. Thank you so much for being willing to teach us how to knit correctly. I REALLY appreciate you!

So I have been "knitting" since age 11. When I say that, I mean just the basic stitch. But I've made alot over the years playing it safe, from scarves, hat's, baby booties, half gloves, shawls etc. I got brave at almost 40 in trying to really learn to accomplish more. Which means the next step- purling. Every video I watched...my ribbing did not look correct. Obviously it wasn't. But I checked again and again. My purl stitch itself was correct. But it was not ribbing! Thanks to your video I learned why. Beginning the next row of stitches I was not knit stitching or purl stitching on the correct one. So I was purling when I should have been knit stitching and vice versa. I've been going mad for days trying to figure out what I was doing incorrectly! Thank you for your tutorials!!
