- Young hedgehogs will leave the nest when they are around three to four weeks old to go on foraging trips with their mother. After around ten days of foraging with their mother the young will wander off on their own.
Even best friends sometimes fight. A giraffe kicked a naughty rhino.

The mama rolled over on her back with all of them nursing, looks like she’s literally having the life sucked out of her. 😂 She’s just like chillen but at the same time looks so over it. Adorable!

Pygmy hedgehogs are impossibly cute. This is the first time I've seen them as babies. OMG. They seem quit delicate. It's probably best to handle them as little as possible.

Aquainted with an animal rescue woman. When she said her new charges were tiny she wasn't kidding! 6 newborn hedgehogs! Turned in her 2 week notice yesterday, her dreams of a storefront shop have become a reality! She specializes in reptiles but is ready for other critters, too. So happy for her!

We had a pregnant hedghog collapse at our front door
She was massive , weighing 2lbs
So we let her have a conservatory room to herslef
Set up a box , some leaves, paper , etc
Hedgehog food and water
3 days later we went to release her in the woods after finally getting some advice
However, i picked her up ro transfer her to a carrier
....she growled so loud
5 wee mini me hedghogs were feeding from her!
It turned out she gave birth on the first night we found her !
Lucking ly we then found a nedgehog expert in nearby town
..who would help them adjust to a proper safer wildlife garden.
She had an amazing garden with many hedgehogs already rehabilitating there
Perfect for proud mum and her babies
Finally they were all where they needed to be ...safe
Never seen such adorable baby hedghogs
By day 3 they were already brown and spikey....
Size of large walnuts ...
Amazing....

Next time she's giving birth maybe put something on the floor where she can grip onto bc she keeps trying to push and like grip onto the floor and she keeps sliding so it's making it hard for her. Just trying to help. This is absolutely amazing!!!!

Gripping onto something gives you leverage to push. Been a few decades but I remember the bruises along my arms from gripping the raised bed sides to push. Like stripes up my arms.

In the opening scenes it showed the mother delivered 5 live babies but it quickly fast forwards and then there is only 4 babies shown in the scenes. What happened to one of them?
If a mother is distressed she may actually eat her babies, a few animals do this.

Maybe one was stillbirth? Or too sickly and couldn’t thrive? Wild hedgehogs probably eat their offspring more often than domesticated ones, just because humans can interfere and stop the domestic hedgehog mother from literally consuming her young.
You can see five babies being born, but it only seems like there’s four of them for the rest of the video?
That last animal was a hedgehog it looks like a badger maybe
