      it went a little faster and higher trap when i swapped in the ct20b, 12.53 at 114mph with a slower 60ft. it was defo capable of low 12s even still on street tyres. Never got the chance to run on slicks/DRs.
      Car now runs a TD06, still stock engine, but not been down the strip much since.

      +Sargey Poons yeh, shot off the line, running a huge spec. think he managed a high 10 later in the day

    Nice work! I was trying to hit 12's with my MR2 but unfortunately my clutch started slipping.. hopefully this summer!

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  8 років тому

      Thanks. New clutch for me needed now as well. Hence why I had to clutch dump it at the time. I did have a few slippy passes that day. Hoping to take off another 10th or 2 this year with any luck!

    seems very fast for the mods you have, your running the same times as a merc A45 AMG, they have nearly 400hp with 4WD and are currently the worlds fastest hatchback in stock form

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  8 років тому +2

      +The Mon ill take that as a compliment, thanks. bare in mind i probably weigh 300kg less than that vehicle (quick google has it at 1550kg), so have advantage there, but mine being a manual i certainly loose some time against an automatic (flappy paddle) gearbox and modern day equipment.

    Saw you run a few times very nice car and times I was running in a c32 amg never got to race you or anything quick.. Was running 12.8s all day with rubbish 60ft times.

      +jdm1hunter ofcorse :-) nothing major though just a pulley and airbox mod and a Remap. was having issues with intake temps so need to work on cooling to get more from it.

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  9 років тому

      +Adam bischoff goes well! so what we talking 400+ hp 400lb? would have been a tight line up for sure! ive less power but less weight, vs big power, auto tranny but more weight. would have been close! sounded nice too.

    • @adambischoff6772
      @adambischoff6772 9 років тому

      Yeah f
      It's full fat. Half tank of petrol..
      Yeah your pretty bang on its just over 400hp 400lb pulls alot harder on the road than it did at pod.. But that's due to the intake temps halfed when rolling. Doesn't have LSD either yet that's on my shopping list. Will make a huge difference. Do you go Santapod offen?

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  9 років тому

      +Adam bischoff intake temps should have been decent, as it wasnt that hot that day really. running through the gears from a dig also will increase temps fast, as its under constant load. but point is everyone is in the same boat, everyone has to line up and wait and deal with heatsoak and high intake temps. shutting off the car and opening the bonnet after a run will help bring the heatsoak down. am sure you saw lots of people doing it. ive been a few times in recent months, but had nowhere near the same amount of runs i had that day! before that i was only going once a year because of a show. its only something ive very recently got into really. i need a better clutch, cv's and more suitable tyres if i want to go quicker. or i strap a bigger turbo on, ha. 90% in a fast time is all on the launch, probably 99% if driving an auto!

  • @ukfrosty

    You seem to launch well. I'm always screwed in the first 60ft :(

    • @karalb49
      @karalb49 9 років тому

      +ukfrosty I hit a 1.86 60ft in my MR2 which has a pretty basic set up 3SGTE with bolt ons.. best run I had was 13.1 @ 104 and 1.86 60FT! Launch is everything, just keep trying!

      I think I was there that same day. I've got some Toyo R888s to try this year. Looking forward to it now I'm trapping at 120+ mph

    what spec was the white 1 series bmw, dont think a stock 135i should beat yours

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  8 років тому

      Hi, that BMW was running a 600hp diesel swap, had nitrous as well, but don't think he was running the nitrous on our run (so maybe wasn't running 600hp at that time). Think he's got the fastest 135i in the uk at that point he told me.
      I didn't do too bad against it really.

    • @-The-Mon
      @-The-Mon 8 років тому

      +jdm1hunter deff not 600hp, more like 350hp

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  8 років тому

      +The Mon he was running a diesel swap, even if 'maybe' 350 at the time, he'd still be making 400lb+ I'm sure which is way more than me, ha. (or a regular 135). He said he'd dynoed 600hp+, I have to assume thats with the nitrous on. Whether or not he was running any nitrous for our run, I've no idea. I doubt it though.
      Either way, it is certainly wasn't anywhere close to stock.

      in a straight line maybe, but down the country roads theres not alot in it. same chassis and all. should be able to get that into the 16s with a good launch.

    what clutch are you running?

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  8 років тому

      here i was running a single plate Ogura 409. wasnt quite up to the task of hard launches though. 1 out of 3 runs it would likely slip on the 1/4 mile, on the road perfectly fine. ive since gone to a OS Giken R2CD twin plate. not had a single slip issue since.

  • @Swansational
    @Swansational 9 років тому

    Good runs man! I've got a gen3 as well, and the fastest stock internal gen3 with ct20b to date I've heard of made a 12.3 in Canada. Wish I could get that. Are you running 94 octane like the engine is tuned for? Also may consider just getting a little squirt bottle rigged up for heatsoak, guys swear by it.

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  9 років тому

      +Swancast thanks, yeh ive heard of a 12.37 with drag tyres. im sure a 60ft in the 1.7s would get me very close to that. im just on our local fuel, 99 ron, which is the same as you guys 93 i believe. im looking at a better clutch and a chargecooler for next season.

  • @johnnyipcus9974
    @johnnyipcus9974 4 роки тому

    if you got more out of each gear you would get better times, shouldn't be finishing in 4th on low rev also shifted way to early in 3rd..

    • @jdm1hunter
      @jdm1hunter  4 роки тому

      i shifted when i felt both torque and power were exhausted. there's no need to take things to redline if peak power is long gone, plus it put me in a better torque band when in the next gear. i had since improved time to low 12.5s with a stock ct20b, which are still some of the fastest times recorded with BPU mods and street tyres.

    • @johnnyipcus9974
      @johnnyipcus9974 4 роки тому

      @@jdm1hunter i got exact same with ct20 stock i haven't taken it to see what it does yet but yes no need to redline i just think you could of tried at least one run differently by getting a bit more out of each gear i think you would of got a better time
