How Farms Work is a UA-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. Our videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and GMO crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
Be sure to subscribe for new videos every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 11AM Central!
Ryan, I love your videos. I got pushed out of farming by my parents at a young age. Watching all of your videos created a lot of nostalgia. I never miss a video.
I appreciate your viewing. Thanks for sticking with us!
Not a bad day of work.... over $5000 dollars, and they were some nice looking cattle. Thanks for taking us along, Ryan!!!

I love being on a farm as a kid now that I'm an adult with alot of health issues I haven't been on a farm in years now but hoping that one I can be back on a farm there is nothing better than waking up and smelling that fresh farm smell god bless everyone and to all the farmers who reads this I hope you have a good crop this year
I really enjoy watching your videos! I remember driving around Wisconsin when I was younger ,just seeing all the farms & loving the country ! I lived in Rockford IL till 1979 & a lot of the area & towns around Rockford were farming communities! Farming is a way of life & I know from my grandparents its not a way of getting rich & its long hours plus hard work. So watching your videos & Travis brings back fond memories of staying 2 weeks each summer on my grandparents farm in Pana IL.
Thanks for sharing and take care
There’s a lot of work that goes into cattle and the reward that comes in the end is very nice.
I enjoy your videos. as a former dairy farmer watching your videos brings back some good memories of my teenage years... thanks for taking me along with your operation..
enjoy watching and learning how farming differs across the country
Ryan,
After watching a number of your videos, I believe you and your family are a great example of the work ethic, self reliance, resourcefulness, and pride that is the bedrock of what built this country. You all have separate farms but unselfishly share labor and equipment and accept the risks of poor weather, disease, and pestilence. I’m glad to know there are young people who are willing to do the hard, dirty, monotonous work that goes with operating a farm. It does have to be a labor of love. I grew up around farming in Western Kentucky and have many happy memories of the life on a farm. You guys definitely don’t punch anyone’s time clock but have one of the toughest bosses, the guy in the mirror. Keep up the informative videos as I have learned a lot by watching. Good luck to you and your family. Bohn
I enjoy the cattle videos. Being honest about the funds and income make it. Thanks again
My kids and I love the videos! Keep the good quality videos coming!

I love watching your videos because I’ve always had a interest in farming but never really had a chance to look into to it, so this channel is perfect for me!!

Good afternoon, Ryan. I'm from Brazil. Exactly 1 month I started watching your videos. Beautiful channel on UA-cam. Congratulations.
I've worked with cattle my entire life and the technique at 2:00 was fantastic can't wait to use it
that cow hitting the guardrail knocked the wind out of me lol! always enjoy your videos. and looks like that goose neck ball needs a little grease.
As always excellent job. Appreciate the quality and content of your videos. Takes me back to my younger days, 4H beef club, preparing ground, making hay and picking corn. All the best to you and your brother. You are a good team and it's nice to see your family working together to make farming work.
You guys are awesome! I love when families can work together!
I enjoy working on a farm and don’t mind the hard work as it’s in my blood, I helped someone near Darlington/Plattville in 2016 for a couple weeks (from PA) and did close to 3000 little bales. Enjoyed the beautiful country out there. Enjoy your videos, keep up the great work
Really enjoyed this video, your setup pushing the cattle through the shack reminds me of how my grandpa had his loading pen set up.
I laughed my ass off when you hollered at the cattle and when you were getting them out of the pen!
Doing a great job on the videos. I just found them yesterday and I ran my phone dead watching as many as I could. Showed the my kids the things I did and drove when I was growing up farming in Ohio. Reminds me a lot of when I was younger and my parents current farm operation. Keep up the good work.
your transparency is very aimable! i love your content
I love all your videos. Please keep them coming.
Love your video's. I grew up on a farm, and left when I was 17yrs old. Never went back. Now I am 70 yrs old and retired in Florida's Panhandle/ Keep up the good work.
I enjoy watching your videos. Brings back some good memories. We worked with antique tractors. 1939 John Deere A and a 1937 Farmall A and a 1957 Ford Model 600. Farming is so very time consuming. But it is good time when you can be proud of your finished product. Farm on my friends.

John Haas your welcome
That was another great video. Cattle prices were better for you than a lot of other farmers down in the midwest and the south. I guess it is a trade off for all the rain and weather headaches you guys have been having up north. Keep your head up. Your UA-cam followers will stay true to you.

I like the way you do your videos. Thanks for showing us som much that goes on around the farm! Ps. The 7600 looks big from that angle! :)
I enjoy all your videos. Thanks and Merry Christmas
Hey Ryan, you are definitely a funny guy. I like Travis’s sense of humor and the things he says but I find the things you do just hilarious. Yelling at those cows made my day. Thanks for all you do!
Another sick pos that thinks murdering and yelling at animals is "funny", what would have been funny is the cow realizing how weak and pathetic the human is and trample him to death.....I would donate money for that video.
Hamza Amir thank you for your reply. I would like to say you are one big moron as you just talk about humor I find in harmlessly yelling at a animal who who is dumber than a door knob and calling me a pos. I’d like to then point out you tell me you would find it great to see a human getting trampled to death. I definitely value a human life a lot more than a cows “mental health state” from getting yelled at for a 5 second period that they won’t remember in 30 seconds. Remember for the future, if you want people to find out how dumb you are, open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I see you took your own advice.
I love all your videos and keep up making the good videos.
great to see the workings of the farm .
The cattle were in good shape going to the auction (the mart as we call it in Ireland).Good to see a fair return on the work the you put into them all year.Great videos.
