We have two OLD Mayrath augers, and they are very reliable. Mayraths were built halfway close to me and we have had no problems with ours, and it set out for upwards of 20 years
Congrats on the 445 Ryan, they're one of the best lawn and garden tractors Deere ever produced. Looks to be a post-1998 model so you shouldn't have to worry about the cam gear failing.
I wouldn't mind seeing more 445 and 425 videos. I run a small engine shop and repair older garden tractors. I love how you are putting your videos neatly together. Hoping to appear at the farm day if my job permits me too. Have a great Sunday
We had a 4 wheel steer 425 years ago. Was a fun mower to ride. We also have a big mayrath auger as well. 8" pipe I think. It's a lemon though. Bolts keep sliding out in the hopper during harvest lol. Great video!
It really depends on the number of acres on the planters, we paid less than that last year for a JD 1790 with 16 row 30” and 32 interplant, and all rows had the electric shutoffs. It had 15000 acres on it.
Ryan. Don't let people put you down on what you paid for that mower. That's was cheap, yes it may need some work but all cleaned up and in good working order it's about a $3200-$3800 mower. At least in my area.
Good buy on the mower you will really like the shaft drive on the mower deck no more belt to mess with. I was out today doing the first mowing of the year today.
Nice buy. You need a little 5x8 utility trailer for that stuff tho! And yeah, sometimes you have to block those ramps up for a shallowing approach angle so the deck doesn't hang up.
Ryan, your'e mostly right on the money as far as auctions (farm vs consignment) . Sometimes, though, some straight- off- the- farm tools get sold at a consignment and they usually can be trusted as far as condition. Great day for an auction, though, eh?
Hey Ryan I love your 4640 and can't wait for the planting videos I also miss the days when you guys would put the 46 on the round baler and wish you would do that again Evan though the 76 is a better baler tractor
That Auger should help increase your unloading speed of hoppers. Decreasing your fuel consumption. It may decrease the time it takes to load a truck without transferring load to the other grain hoppers.
So when does winter end and spring start up there? Seems like winter is hanging on for dear life there. Great purchases at auction. Once you clean them up they will look even better. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks!
I've got one too that i bought from a neighbor for $500 with a 60" deck. thats what the Deere dealer was going to give him for trade in so he didnt care! i felt like i was robbing him
huise006 they tried to start mine before bidding but it wouldn’t start...so I took a chance because I saw a lot of corrosion on the battery cables...and that’s what it was...or else it would have gone for over 2500 easy
Nice purchases, Ryan. I like the tread on the rear tires of the mower and think it will serve you well on hills. Admittedly, I have not gone back to watch any of your previous videos about the Kewaunee auger to answer this for myself, but is it about the same length as the newer one? Will the new one be long enough to reach the fill ports of all of your bins, including the one about to be built this year? Thanks for documenting yet another part of farm life, especially since the conditions were so miserable.
Congratulations on your first tractor! It may not be big, but it’s a start. I think that now that you have the experience of buying a tractor, your ready to go on to a 9620RX 😂
We’ve got an atv/golf cart trailer we bought for jobs like that. Might be something to look into instead of hauling big trailer around. Also a question; what brand is y’alls blower or whatever it’s called that y’all use to blow corn into the silos we’d like to get one ourselves
Wow that's a lot of planter for $79K... Course $79K isn't chicken feed, either... but still that's a pretty good deal for as good as those planters looked... You're absolutely right, when it comes to motorized equipment, particularly tractors... I prefer to buy tractors (and if possible, other self-propelled stuff like combines/cotton pickers) from a dealer, where you have at least a "little" leverage if something craps the bed... Implements are what they are, and a lot of times you can get pretty good bargains at an auction (if it's not being haunted and everything run up by "buzzards" or equipment flippers...) Later! OL J R :)
how is Rocket doing I saw a instagram post that he was not doing to whel and you guys woud take him to the vet to get checked out any news about his condition?
Ryan, I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time. Love your videos, I have learned a lot. It is my dream to farm full time, I just don't know how to get started. I work in EMS right now, have 6 1/2 acres of land and horses. my wife and I want a lot more land and a boarding facility, we also want to raise beef cattle on a smaller scale. We do not have the money to make a large purchase for the land and facility. Do you have any advice for me in this area? This is a dream we both want to fulfill with aggression and passion... but are having difficulty making a plan to get started. Your thoughts?
Zachary Murphy that is a loaded question a lot of people ask the same one. We are a first generation from family here in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania it took everything for us to step out of our comfort zone and jump right into it. We found tobacco be our number one cash crop to get us going it's a lot of work but it has a good purchasing power for equipment. I hope you figure it out you just can't be afraid to step out and go for it it's a lifestyle but you need to run it as a business.
Thanks man - noted. Elizabethtown? Shoot man... idk why I thought y'all were located in Wisconsin???? Maybe it's another channel I subscribe to, lol. Well I'll definitely be looking into it. I appreciate the reply, Ryan. Keep up the vids man... LOVE your equipment videos. Personally ... I'm an international harvester man myself, but I do love JD. Keep'em comin man!
If you go there trying to make a purchase like that planter do you have to get a loan pre-auction or do they hold the planter there for a certain amount of time until you can finance it?
Usually you have to arrange a loan pre-auction. No one likes someone who bids without a guaranteed loan behind them or cash because then equipment ends up sitting around.
We have a 445 and it’s been around for about 14+ years and with problems here and there it still serves us well
We have two OLD Mayrath augers, and they are very reliable. Mayraths were built halfway close to me and we have had no problems with ours, and it set out for upwards of 20 years
I think your right about the farm auction! We never had any problem when buying from them
That aution guy should start a singing carreer 😂😂
He might actually sing when he isnt auctioning stuff!
Congrats on the 445 Ryan, they're one of the best lawn and garden tractors Deere ever produced. Looks to be a post-1998 model so you shouldn't have to worry about the cam gear failing.

Yes. I serviced one recently. The 445 is a nice machine because fuel injection
That looked like a fairly large auction. Lotta nice equipment too. Absolutely love your videos and can't wait for more and more
Hope you feel better Ryan. God bless.

You and bothers did good

You got a steal on the lawn mower. Runs and drives in the cuts
Good buy on the mower you will really like the shaft drive on the mower deck no more belt to mess with. I was out today doing the first mowing of the year today.

Steffes does a lot of auctions they do a good job.
Hi Ryan! I’m a big fan of auction videos I really like watching them! Keep up the good work and FARM ON!
I love a good farm auction or “clearing sale” as we call them down under!
,,,Bought my first tractor !!,,, Good job on the purchases.
2:10 GUYS, IT RUNS AND DRIVES AND CUTS. Sounds like a good mower to me...😂
Those 445s are a heck of a mower. I think you did well!
Ryan you will like those back tires . I got them on my garden tractor they wont tear your yard .
Hope you feel better! Nice buy!
Yup keys are in it because when you win the bidding its your responsibility from then on-even if someone thrashes or steals it
Like the lawn tractor Ryan hope you make video on it .
Congrats on your new Deere
My grandpa has a Jd 445 and still in very good condition they last long😀
Love watching these auctions! There's always some cool equipment at thwm
Jamie you are now the proud owner of a John Deere tractor! Ever thought of leasing a tractor for a specific purpose and returning it when done?
Yes another auction video keep up the great work
Congrats Ryan for buying the lawnmower

At 1:07 that food truck has a BBQ Restaurant/Ice Cream Parlor in Oregon. Very good food lol
That Auger should help increase your unloading speed of hoppers. Decreasing your fuel consumption. It may decrease the time it takes to load a truck without transferring load to the other grain hoppers.
I like those tires on the rig!
Great video! Congrats on getting the new lawnmower! :)
Whooeee! Ryan's first JD tractor and less than market value. Set an auger at each of the 20 K grain bins for the 2018 season.
So when does winter end and spring start up there? Seems like winter is hanging on for dear life there. Great purchases at auction. Once you clean them up they will look even better. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks!
Another great video keep the great work up ryan!!
I think trading the keewanee auger for a Westfield auger would be a good idea just my 2 cents glad u got everything u wanted

Hi Ryan I am coming to this years farm show
Thanks for the vlog
You could buy a loader bracket for one of the tractors
Have you ever consider plowing the ground over? You said the yield is not good, so I think plowing will may help.
I see you have a boat back there do you ever get time to use it?
That was a huge auction. I saw there steers sell at bloominton sale barn did u go to the land auction
Congratulations on your first tractor! It may not be big, but it’s a start. I think that now that you have the experience of buying a tractor, your ready to go on to a 9620RX 😂
Cam you do a video of you fixing all the tractor issues????
Hey what happened to the x750 the new one and why didn't you buy a skid loader
Not a bad looking lawn mower.
Sounds like the auctioneer enjoys his job lol
You'll be amazed at the difference between a 8" & 10" auger.
Did u guys go to the land sale I thought u would be interested since most of it was in rockville
Great video Ryan! Will you make a review/repair video of your JD445 in the summer?Would be awesome!:D
That the guys sale that was going to farm the hole county?
Haha I love seeing Rocket randomly appear in the videos. He seems like a good ole pooch..
Are you going to keep the lawnmower
Thanks for the video. Pretty high price for that lawn tractor. Hope it works o.k. for you.
Those 445s go for around $3500 in that condition. He actually got a really good deal on it.
You need the loader tractor I have listed. 7520/741
Travis blowing snot rockets lol
hahahahah. you caught Travis doing the farmer blow!
We’ve got an atv/golf cart trailer we bought for jobs like that. Might be something to look into instead of hauling big trailer around. Also a question; what brand is y’alls blower or whatever it’s called that y’all use to blow corn into the silos we’d like to get one ourselves
I thought the tractor wasn't going to fit on the trailer. LOL
At 0:58 you can see a case 400 tractor
I know because I have one
445 is a nice mower

Wow that's a lot of planter for $79K... Course $79K isn't chicken feed, either... but still that's a pretty good deal for as good as those planters looked...

I’m disappointed you didnt film the auger auctions and go over them in some detail.
Was too busy getting the trailer
Damn if i was there i woulda definately bidded on those planters. I know you guys dont need one but them went cheap as hell
How many hours does the mower have on it?
Hope you get to feeling better being out in the cold and snow probably isn't making you feel any better
how is Rocket doing I saw a instagram post that he was not doing to whel and you guys woud take him to the vet to get checked out any news about his condition?
He's feeling better as I am as well!
Would u believe the auctioneers sound different in wisconsin then here in pennsylvania haha

Why didn't you guys bed on another big tractor ? It was another good video your doing good Ryan
kind of funny to see a professional farmer on a small tractor.
I like your videos
I am glad a good time ate auction
When is this years farm show?
John Deere with a fairly robust Kawasaki engine, i have a 425.
Where is your truck we haven’t seen very much of it lately.
It stays out of the ice and salt.
445 a hydrostatic?
What happened to the other lawn mower?
That was is parents lawnmower
Should be able to unload corn into the bin alot faster now.
Was this the farm auction with 2000+ land? Got the flyer in the mail for it. Lot of nice stuff.
HydraBurst yes it was
What are you hauling it home with today
auctions, do not buy any "motor" unit, like you said they dump junk, things with issues, buy through a dealer so you can take them to court.
How many hours are on that 445?
If you go there trying to make a purchase like that planter do you have to get a loan pre-auction or do they hold the planter there for a certain amount of time until you can finance it?
Usually you have to arrange a loan pre-auction. No one likes someone who bids without a guaranteed loan behind them or cash because then equipment ends up sitting around.
Why do you need a new mower?? I thought your mower was pretty new
That mower was Mom and Dad’s.
How Farms Work oh I thought that was yours
Did you buy the Polaris ranger
