Followed your tutorial and now my seat looks perfect. Thank you!
Thanks for watching, glad my video helped you 🙏
How do they look a year later?
There was a big cut on my seat, and restoration fixed it. So far, I don’t have any issues and my seat still looks perfect except some small stretches.
Richey, the repair area still same but I have some more damaged on other sits,
Well planned and produced video on a topic of interest to anyone who drives the same car for more than 4 or 5 years, or who buys used, older vehicles, many of which have rips and tears in the driver's seat. Thanks for making this. The detailed instructions are great!.
P.S. I'd recommend cleaning the entire seat bottom with the detailing brush & cleaning solution, so that the repaired area would not stand out because it was cleaner than the surrounding area. Takes only minutes more, and you have to wait 4 hours for the seat to dry anyway. Particularly liked your technique for putting the ventilation holes in the patch to match the surrounding area.
It would have came out a lot better if you would not have cut the material but just loose strings, put that backing under trim and super glued the tear back together, put the resin over the cut with would be very small if done this way. Painted over the damaged area and then used some very fine sand paper to smooth it out. That is the way repairs are done by the manufacture.
Thank you for posting this video. Your seat leather looks exactly like mine. It gives me hope!
You welcome, thanks for watching
Not bad, a lot better than I thought it would be. Kudos.
Thanks
Dude just in the last few days alone I've watched like 5 of your videos. I had to replace a fuel filter and clean my fuel injectors and you had awesome straight to the point without leaving anything out on those. I can see you stick to the same formula for other videos including this one. Much appreciated. Where you from brotha? Eastern Europe, Middle East?
Wooooow!!!! That is really cool Man! I didn't know that was possible! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, if you take ur time with mixing colors, u will get better results than mine
“Only when you get close you can see the repair”
Me from 10 feet away: Boi how much Taco Bell did you eat to tear through the seat like that?
Lol, it happens everywhere on that seat, even on the back
😂😂😂
Cool. I have a hole the size of a small felt pen and it's a leather seat cushion it's not that big though. but wondering when you put the resin on top of it will it reinforce the hole from tearing
overtime?
That's awesome thank you
This is the most helpful tutorial for this kit, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
What did you use for the holes?
Very well explained exelente
Glad it was helpful!
Nice job! Looks like I can do it Thanks
Yes, its easy,
5:56 I would have used a Dremel tool with a very small drill bit
This was the best instructional for this application that I have seen! Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Know this is an older vid but, great job! Thanks.
Thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Looks good, well done!
Would it reopen after a while from sitting on it it seems to be labor intensive and in the end if it opens again its a loss with the kit as well
This is a great video bro. I have a question. Can you put a link to the cleaning kit you used? It looked like it worked very well.
I would've cleaned the whole seat! That stuff works ... whatever it is!
Superb!!!!!
prefect job!
Really not perfect, but better than before, I will do another video soon
Keep it up bro I'm from karnataka
Thanks bro
Clean the rest so it matchs.
What did u make the pattern with? The plug in wand?
It comes with the repair kit
@@AliMECH what iron tool did you use? I think that is wat they are asking.
Great job brother!
Thanks 🙏🏻
I like your editing style 👍 great video
Thanks Grace for turning in
I farted while driving and blew a hole right under my brown eye. I will use this video to fix my shart damage.
Great video! Thank you!😘
Even this expert level tutorial cannot conceal shart rips on a leather interior. Please consult the owners manual.
Can confirm.
What am I a 12yr old boy? This thread is too funny😂😂😂
Very well done!
I have the same tear on my 04 Highlander, see if I can make it look better before I sell it
You make me laugh cos you speak like you dont give a fuck but you do great work . LOL Thanks for the video
lol thanks
Dang this is a really good tutorial
Thanks
Excellent sir
Thanks 🙏🏻
What is the name of the song that you used throughout the video ?
What tool did you use to make the holes?
Great job
Thanks,
So now i have to go buy that tiny iron. Great. Anyway thanks for the video, appreciate!
Came out great
Thanks Carlos
The spatula they sent was insufficient for a truly smooth application.. IMO, a small offset spatula (typically used for frosting cakes) would have given MUCH better results..
You’re a Genious!!!!
Looks great thank u for sharing
Thanks for watching
We just gonna pretend it looks good?? 🤦🏻♂️
lol......it looks better than a hole for sure....but saying you can't even notice is a stretch.
Lol, yes, I even said that it's not good, but it will hold it from getting bigger
@@AliMECH this guys trippin man for a repair it looks great 👍🏻
If you want it to look good, spend that dough. If you're looking for a repair, this is great.
Well it looks better than it did Mr. Perfect
Azam Ali says >>>>so brilliance
thanks for watching
It’s def way better than before!!
Cleanest part of the seat
Good work man
Appreciate it
appreciate you Video, much needed
Good Video Tutorial
Thanks
Cut duck tape, apply, done lol
Since the holes do have a pattern. What could be done is to make it unnoticeable would be to make lines wit thin tape peices like a grid of a sort to match the pattern then start making it holey lol very good still THANK YOU!
yeah he slacked on that part. half the holes look like pen marks
color can be selected using ncs.?))
For india you need HBC kit tell me
Nice job!
Thanks!
great idea
Thanks
I am purchasing a used car where someone tried to patch the leather and did a poor job so that it's basically just a blob of filler with no perforations. Is it possible to remove the filler they used and then re-patch it by myself?
Yes, it would be much better, and take your time to match the color and it will be much better than before
AliMECH how do you recommend getting the old filler off?
@@peachykeen96 Cutting it out makes the most sense, no?
What tool did you use to poke holes back in the seat?Does it come with the kit?
I used a craft bead reamer. Time consuming. But very relaxing! 😂
Nice bro 👍
Thanks ✌
@@AliMECH do upload more ✌
Nice video.. thanks
Thansk for watching
Looked great till you butchered those holes😂😂😂😂
Oh yeah! lol
I have a huge tear on the corner of my seat, how am I supposed to fix that? it goes halfway down the height of it...
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Where you get the iron from?
It came with the kit
How much the price
I would have took a sewing needle and poke little holes to match the pattern of the seat.
Does it matter which leather cleaner you use?
No, just to clean the repairing area for better bonding
Thanks! I finally got around to purchasing my repair kit, but reading the instructions I already appear to have a problem. There's only one backing cloth provided, and it's much smaller than my tear. What should I do?
You can put few layers of fabric too, it doesn't have to be that exact backing cloth
Triclean
Should I try mine or get a seat from junk yard ??🤔🤔🤷🏾♂️ the tutorial was great.✔
Howblong can last
At first I thought what a sh!t repair..then I realised this is just a repair tutorial not a restoration to full glory...👏👍 Well done from New Zealand.
Thanks, appreciate that
Nice
Thanks
Good video, but the instructions clearly say: "do not use the included hardener" on a "soft area such as a seat"
That's what they use in there official video, I tried it, it wont cure, it will stay sticky, and dont worry it will not be hard as u expect, even with the hardener, still like a rubber
Permatex kits is great FOR NON perforated leather seats. Feel this guy rushed the color matching. Also the backing patch he inserted was WAY TOO big for the tear and was visible from the perforations. A pro would’ve colored that backing cloth he inserted
That seams like a lot of work
The color mixing process is the hard one to me, but other steps are easy
Thanks for getting back to me, I'm going to try it in two weeks. Wish I could show you a picture of it, they way it is now
No problem, my personal Facebook in the up right side of my UA-cam channel
That's really going to last?)
Thank you 👍👍
No problem 👍
Honestly it's very obvious the inperfection even from far distance but thanks for the video
Yes, agree with you, but much better than before
It will stop from the hole getting bigger at least. or you could go on Ebay and spend 500$ on a seat.
it's not the best but if you think about it it's cheaper than replacing the whole seat !
Thanks, yes exactly
That’s not bad man
Thanks
Horrible
And that makina that you use to make the holes, what's its name?
Looks like it’s just a soldering iron with a fine tip
ALLAH IS good!!!
If those seats were just maintained and cleaned and polished on a regular basis they wouldn’t tear like that. I’m sure those surfaces fissures are just due to drying of the leather, making it weak. A leather conditioner would do wonders on those seats.
Sources: Owned two cars with leather seats, both in immaculate condition
It's been maintained good but keys and jeans which has smale metal ripped it like this
People also may do this on purpose, ask me how i know.....
@@yamahayz9227 How do you know?!...
Well, actual leather makes it last longer. This one is not leather...so it tears easier with age, regardless of condition.
Thank you so much for this information! My mom has a Benz and the seats are like this. My brother was driving it for a while and the driver seat and arm rests are ruined! We had been thinking that it was because of how he always leaned back in the seat, but it could very well be that he didn't get the car detailed and the seats conditioned. I took it for an estimate and was quoted over 1k to have it fixed. Maybe I can find someone to do this instead.... just hope the outcome is as good.
Yeah I have a tear just like that one and a repair place wants to charge like 900 for it so no thanks this’ll be just fine
Sick music
My dog made a hole with his nails on my camaro leather seats 😢
Oh that's not good lol, fix it like this 🙏
Same thing happened to my Escalade
johny ramos why do people put their dogs in their cars with leather interior 🤦🏻♂️
@@hexZ06 Exactly!
I think you need to find a better kit but not super bad. If it weren't for the holes it would have turned out ok.
Totally agree man, the holes and mixing colors need experiance, I did that on camera without practicing, so ppl know what the result will be
Hasta la weba
Not bad
Instructions unclear; hardener stuck in my urethra!
Well you no longer had a rip but it looked like???? when you finished. I wouldn’t want my nice sports car having a nasty repair such as that on my seat!
Alright if it's Stevie Wounder's car..
Horrible how this repair is done! So obvious! Can't anyone do a good job so its NOT visible so badly?
I mean it looks better I guess lol
See A.R.T.s Real Repairs if you want to see how to repair perforated leather seat where it looks like new. This repair what we use to call "butcher job" Sorry, I know you did your best but A.R.T.s will show you a professional repair. (PS...I'm not associated in any way with A.R.T.s, just try to help with another option). Oh, and 'seat' is not spelled 'sit' : )
wasting my time of doing this.............why not buy new chair...........and I have to cost money to buy all the tools, gel, and instrument for it in order to fix it.....lot of works
Mate, seriously, you didn't even take the time to draw some lines so that you know where to put the holes, you just went to town with it..
Yes, you are right
WTF do u mean only if u get close...
A blind man can spot that from a mile away.
What a joke 🤣🤣🤣
This is not professional repair
It's ugly
Agreed
Wow that leather is filthy
How bout no
Not a option.
Nice job fixing the hole, but it still looks like crap. Better than nothing, but not even close to a professional job.
