Sorry for the levels on this video. Not sure where the audio got nerfed, but it would seem it got quite the de-buff. I will look into it. That said...it is still buttery smooth if I do say so myself!
Ah that's right now I remember this vid. Do you have either of these yet? Can you demo either with the H8? That will answer for me once and for all how studio in quotes it actually is. Thanks in advance.
It's weird they didn't release the Signature Series color-matched with their cables, and other color coded items they are offering. I'd would have been over the moon with an orange one.
Circuit boards and circuit board components are actually extremely low in price. If the other components can be mass produced at super high volumes that also keeps the price low
If red had black grill...... damn major disappointment would be so hot. 😅 Nt1 i think last i owned was 3rd gen. And it replaced some tube mics at the time. Nt1 always picked up my voice for vocals including my wierd rasp which has tone of high and bottom end. Nt1 was sexy because of black stealth look. Signiture series should have been color blended themes. 159 though for usb tempting but ive never used the mic without coloration with tube pre amps in front of it or studio channle strip.
Thanks for the vid! A bit late on finding out about this mic. I wonder if they had the non-black colors at launch and they just all sold out, or if they haven't had the colors in-stock yet... Either way, I'm definitely waiting to get my hands on a purple one as well!
Big fan of the new Podmic USB for podcasting. It is a great all arounder. As for the holy grail of Rode mics...it would be the NT1. Easily one of the best mics in price to performance.
32 bit float has nothing to do with a microphone. It is about the interface by which it connects to a computer. That is why the fifth gen had it. It was on the usb... An xlr mic can not inherently have 32bit float
I swear this guy is the guy from the channel riddle, he sounds so similar (edit: I have a question, what would you say this the best dynamic microphone to eliminate background noise for streaming?)
also, I'd offer my blue spark as a reference agent for this new NT1, aka the same price range and a possible upgrade path for those of us idiots who bought a blue mic. aka myself @@DarkCornerStudios
I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone. I do not need another microphone.
@DarkCornerStudios The history of the colour purple is very interesting. I believe it was the last colour to be figured out how to be made synthetically and natural colour purple was very expensive. Historically you have the Newmann colour pallett.
Difficult to tell on a male voice but the old version always sounded bright and brittle on a female voice. There's an obvious lack of detail in the upper mids too. On this guy's voice, it almost sounds muffled. This is the best mic AT THE PRICE! Almost anything that's mid-range or upwards will sound a lot better. I'd rather get a used C214 off of eBay for the same money tbh. It's always taken me a lot of work to get recordings with this mic sounding halfway decent, I've never liked this mic and never understood why people do - apart from it being cheap.
RODE NT1 Signature Series 🫣❤ Is this worth to buy for direct buyers who don’t have any microphone till now..?? I was planning to buy AKG P420 and suddenly today it has launch and from early time it was fav dream mic so wanna buy this but really is this worth for Singing/Rapping..??
This is one of the most well respected mics in the music and voice over industry. It is very balanced through the lows and mids, and a decent sparkle on the top end. This is a fantastic mic for singing. As for rapping, I cant understand why it wouldnt be...
@@DarkCornerStudios Thanks for clearing my doubt sir😌 also i have one question 🙋🏻♂️ in Rode NT1 5th gen there we don’t need any audio interface or what? And in Rode NT Signature Series there is no USB pin so what are cons for a singer/rapper in Rode NT SS..?? I’m little bit confuse on this question.. (btw i have one Focusrite solo audio interface)
@@LEADInimical the NT1 5th gen is a combo usb mic...so it can either be used as a direct to computer...or through USB. The Signature Series is JUST xlr...so you will need to use an interface

I was not going to bother with this new mic at all since I have a 4th gen NT1, but that purple model has definitely grabbed my attention.
Right?
Just ordered the purple one 💜
@@teegan-rose I may just order one for myself.
Totally jealous...lol

Actually testing out this mic right now, it's brighter than the regular NT-1 and that's why I got it. So far I like it!
Red or purple would be my taste. I can see myself buying this for sure.
And in red! Mmmm. I don't know how they manage to keep their prices so low. Nothing else gets cheaper. Excellent.
I have no idea either.
Its fantastic though...and yeah...purple or red for me!!
Many things get cheaper and better in technology.

That should be 6th gen - 5th with headphones jack for monitoring 😉
I think I may get a rode nt1 5th gen. I like that there’s a usb option. Is there a difference in sound with usb vs audio interface?
I didn't find much...and I don't think many would be able to pick up on it.
It has the same preamp that is used in the Rodecaster series
I did a review on it...you can hear for yourself!
Which one do you prefer in terms of the rode mics for podcasting or even overall. And what is your go to go to like your holy grail mic.
The rode procaster is a good overall. But this is more for studio recording voices rather than broadcasting.

It is a great all arounder.
As for the holy grail of Rode mics...it would be the NT1.

Wow that is a sexy combo price

The Colossus of years for them.
Video audio seems quiet. Ok guess I can blame on the quieter mic
Have you turned up your speakers?
Lol

The entire microphone doesn't have to be red for it to be fast. You just need to paint some flames on the side.

@@DarkCornerStudiosall good it's just for basic guitar recording. The cursed 1a was too bright 😂
I still think it's funny seeing a somewhat cheap microphone having the lowest noise floor
That is the power of this mic...and why it is leaned on so heavily for a LOT of VO work
Looking at the photo of the inner electronics, it seems like there is no transformer inside which can help keep things quieter
