    I always put Monty Walsh on my top five western list. Classic acting, with great chemistry between the actors.

    This is one of my favorite movies, it is far better than the remake. Everyone who loves westerns owes it to themselves to watch it once.

    The man who wrassled wolves was Jack Abernathy (1876 - 1941) who was a good friend to President Teddy Rossevelt. He was the youngest US Marshel over the Oklaholma Terratory in 1901.

      @@409rommel Jack Abernathy was a strong man, he would grab thee wolf by the scruff of the neck and shove his fist into the wolfs mouth, the wolf cain´t do much. He used thick work gloves but after a while just used his bare fist.

    We used to sit around, smoke cigs and talk philosophy. No one worried about a thing cause we were young and indestructible. Best times of my life.

      You’re absolutely right. The chemistry between the actors was awesome. No scene stealing, just friends playing the hell out of their respective parts. Can’t go wrong with Jack Palance and Lee Marvin (Semper Fi).

    That movie reminds me after 23 years working at a copper company when they closed on us ,leaving 3,000 unemployed copper workers. There is similar things in the movie.

      Certains comme toi on dit : le bon, la brute, le truand le meilleur western de tous les temps, tu parles, des bons westerns, de très bons westerns y en a pleins ! Tu connais audy Murphy, le soldat américain le plus décoré de la deuxième guerre mondiale. Il a fait énormément de westerns et des beaux. Chacun dit, que tel film est le plus beau, ç 'est une affaire de goût et rien d' autre!!

    You can relate this to so many professions as time goes by, I just love this movie and Lee Marvin and Jack Palance are just the best. It's just a sweet slice of life.

    Un film crépusculaire magnifique sur le temps qui passe en bougeant les lignes. Jeanne Moreau est très émouvante. La musique The Good Times are coming est d'une beauté sans nom.
