I received my Zizzle an hour ago. I'm really impressed with it. Fit and finish is excellent. The blade is incredibly sharp. The action is smooth. I did try to disassemble it, but I was unable to break the threadlocker free on the pivot. I'm really glad I sold that OT knife. IMO, it was a great blade on a POS handle with an even worse pivot. As everyone says "it's a great $10 knife." This Zizzle is just a great knife. Period.
Been wanting to get a Civivi for a while, wanted one with a button lock, but looks like this is the best deal I'll get. Thanks for the heads up Max, I'll get it tomorrow.
My Dad just got me one of these and dropped it off to me, and I'm really impressed with this little guy. It has the same quality build as their knives selling for 70-100$, and I really dig this, I'm glad pops snagged this for me, I like it just as much as the Mini Praxis.
The ruike p801s are on amazon 35ish dollars...14c28n id pay the little extra for that over ozark trail any day...probably pay it over the civivi to be honest just doesnt have that grind but its still very slicey. I have one. I took it apart cleaned and oiled it and got the pivot dialed in and it has a really smooth action.
I just ordered mine and I’m stoked! I recently bought the Brazen and Mini Praxis and I’m hooked. This knife is like a budget Elementum in D2. I have looked at the Elementum many times and just can’t justify paying the $50 bucks for a knife for non-knife people. I like it but not as much as the other designs, something about the rounded handle and small size- should be $30-$40 instead of $50 IMHO. This ‘Zizzle’ looks more traditional and is pretty much the same size for half the price of the Elementum. I’m sold…
nice deal on the knife, but the three piece kit is kinda dumb. I also usually toss the little zipper pouches and stickers they include. Skip the extras and lower the cost IMO.
Just picked one of these "kinfe combo" kits up at my local Walmart today, they had them in stock. Don't know what I'll do with the lanyard or weird little sptool, but the knife itself isn't half bad for the price.
My store says they have in stock, so placed order to pick up after work to see if i can get it. Also placed an order for 2 of the ozark D2's to be shipped to the house and didn't have to pay the shipping fee ordering all 3 at once. Can't wait to see :)
Just picked up this set today along with the SwissTech set. Def like the looks/action/size of the zizzle. With the lock bar access was a bit better but not a big deal. Also picked up a white(ish) OT crossbar that is closer to a bugout as it doesnt have full liners. The plastic handle is fairly slick but a def budget beater at $5.
THANKS for this video! I ordered this as soon as I watched this video. Delivers tomorrow. I have an Elementum Fixed blade which I really like. I have custom made desert ironwood scales on it now. The Civivi D2 steel has held up well, and I can KME sharpen it to a polished razor edge. I sold my OT online for more than twice what I paid WM. It sold in under 10 hours! My previous comment was deleted right after you posted this video. I hope this comment remains.
The zizzle is worth it! I got mine today and it’s a great knife! I also have the elementum special white g10 w/red accents. Also the ozark orange is back in stock got that just as a beater tester
When I saw one on the shelf at my walmart by itself I thought it was in the $25 section because someone put it back wrong. Opened up the app saw $25 and immediately put it in the cart
I bought the Civivi Elementum in S35v steel for $89 long time ago. Loved the way it looked and the built quality was really good. Unfortunately I was never totally impressed or even pleased with it's performance. I really realized the lacking performance when I bought the Spyderco Native LW. Cutting, slicing, stabbing, and scoring materials with the Spyderco was absolutely next level compared to the Civivi. The Spyderco was in S30 and Civivi was in S35vn.
Maybe some of the performance difference was due to the grind on the knife. I am a fan of all knives but I lean towards the thinner flat ground blades over most others for performance sake.
@strikenryken i thought the civivi was sharp but everytims I went to use it, I was not impressed. Don't get me wrong, it did the job but it never left me saying to myself "wow, that's a sharp knife" after using it. With the Spyderco, I am amazed everytime I use it even to this day . Far as the grind goes, both knives appear to have the same grind to the naked eye. But that is where I believe the differences in quality is. Spyderco comes out of the factory with the proper edge made by skilled pros while civivi come out assembled well but lack that craftsmanship.
@@SubUrbanNinja-EDC I like spydercos also! The good thing with this hobby is there is something for everyone! The civivi qbit was my favorite slicer I’ve had from them before I got into spydercos. One of my favs now is the dragonfly since I rarely need much blade length on a day to day basis.
@@strikenryken I agree. There are so many different directions one can go with this hobby. It's like wine. So many different brands and so many different tastes. But one true test is the performance. A $100 knife can be built like a tank with all sort of premium materials but if its not edged properly, its garbage. A $3 flea market knife sharpened right and honed right can perform better than a $2000 knife but for maybe a few uses like a disposable razor.
The "spoon" may also be intended to be used as a signaling device when highly polished, which may make it a viable fire starter also under the right conditions.
I hate studs too but I have been impressed with the sencut design. If a knife has to have them those are the ones I'd want. But I have goted my knuckles a few times to the point I don't want them and have had that be a deal reaker on some amazing blades .
Immediately dismissed the pry bar, then seeing the spoon 🧐 love it ... I've broken every plastic spoon i put in my pocket this looks like a good size to keep on me ... Oh , the knife looks like what $20 should be getting us from all companies with this steel... And did your say $70 for D2? Is the handle made of magna cut? Lol
Bearings or bushings? nylon or bronze? Axis / cross bar lock probably would have appealed to more although that makes flipper design a bit more complicated. That spoon is too small & shallow, some wadded up 550 or bank line would have been a better use of space. IMHO of course.
Picked one up six days ago (last Friday, couple days after this video posted). It's nice. Your comment on the Elementum sounds right on. Why spend $50 for that when this is $25.
I bought mine in store. My local Walmart had a bunch. I was thinking about grabbing a few more before they’re gone. Btw is a Christmas gift special if that wasn’t mentioned.
I prefer the knife in the Walmart combo kit better than the Praxis mini. I think that the combo kit knife is just sleeker looking. Plus I don't care much for knife finger indentions which is why I like the Boker Strike Auto compared to the Boker Kalashnikov auto
I am trying to read in between the lines here…i think were looking at a good marketing strategy. Its a GATE WAY KNIFE. I think they saw the market blow up over the great value/OT bugout for $10 (yeah i got 2 myself) why not make a christmas special “sample” civivi to get peoples attention so that they can open the door to better civivis. Just my thoughts. Truth be told i just bought one, havent opened it yet, and strangly enough with all of the other knives ive got, its my first civivi…maybe itll be a gateway knife for me too.
But the question is- can an ordinary person buy one? If an ordinary person cannot buy one then it might as well not exist, we should all just ignore it. I've looked for that Ozark Trail knife- it is impossible to buy online and also impossible in my store. My store doesn't even have a place on the shelf for it as if it doesn't even exist. Likely this Civivi will be the same way. I get really tired of products that are introduced, they get hyped on the internet then they are impossible to buy. A reasonably good $20 knife is the holy grail for me, I want one for hiking. I carry a name brand knife that costs many times as much and on one of my most recent trips it got pulled out of my pocket by a camera strap, I had to walk around awhile before I found it. If I'm going to risk losing a knife I would rather risk a $20 knife than a $150 knife.
knowing someone who works in Walmart, apparently new items appear first online before arriving in stores. they're receiving their first d2 ozark knife shipment at the end of November at their location.

I think Snoop Dogg is gonna want some royalties for that name of that knife😂

Not if thats all you have.
As thin as it is it should have been like a double pronged fork instead of a pry end .
