Not sure specifically, but I would start with the camera and make sure it it outputting 1080p via HDMI into your Cam Link. Then check the settings of the Cam Link to make sure it is set to 1080p and fianlly Ecamm to make sure that it is receiving 1080p. I'm assuming there is a break down in that chain that is causing the issue. Let me know what you find out!
I was waiting for you to talk about HDMI out as the title implies, but you still use USB, so I did not get an answer on that one. Also you can simply use the Canon EOS Webcam Utility for this simple set up
Yes, you can use the Canon EOS utility which wasn't availible when I created this video. The only why to get clean HDMI out is to turn off autofocus on your Canon 80D unfortunately.
In USB the Canon 80D outputs 960x640 in photo mode and 1024x576 in video mode, which is the lowest resolution one could consider HD. Good for Zoom, but rubbish for streaming.
Thanks for the comment Manly Scents. While I would agree that garbage in = garbage out, I think it's all relative to how you use the content. If you're uploaded to UA-cam, it's going to get compressed anyway. I have shot videos from both USB and HDMI on the 80D and didn't notice a discernible difference. Now, I'm shooting talking head style vlogs in an office, not Discovery Channel documentaries - all relative IMO.

@@Simplebizsupport I'm just researching this issue myself. Used my EOS 80D with Ecamm Last night with the USB port on the camera. Ecamm supports using the EOS 80Ds USB and produces clean output. Even though my settings are all at 1920 x 1080, the USB doesn't deliver that. I'm told it's 1024x576, so substantially less. Also, I don't think you can get the 60 fps with USB. You need to use the HDMI with a capture card to get full resolution and frame ratr. It's a little misleading to call this clean HDMI when it's not HDMI - it's Clean USB :-)
Nice noticing and commenting. I haven't had that experience while using it with Zoom but I don't usually have the HDMI cable plugged in at the same time.
You just need to run the HDMI out of the camera into ATEM Mini and connect your ATEM to your computer via USB. Install the ATEM softare and you should be ready to go. Realize that with the 80D the only way you'll get clean HDMI out if with auto focus turned off.

I have HDOM from my Canon camera, and I have HDMI on my laptop. Why can't I just use HDMI to HEMI cable, as I have connected? The camera never shows up on Zoom...
If only it was that simply unfortunately. You need a capture card to convert the signal from the camera via HDMI cable into a format that your computer can understand and use in Zoom.
Sorry my man, but this is not a HDMI out because you using your usb out instead of the hdmi and unfortunately the bit rate and quality is much-much worse then what the camera capable for. Depends on what you're needs on and whether the BETA option works with your computer and camera. There have been a number of people including myself who've had issues with the Canon solution. When the software is done in BETA and goes live to the public, I hope it works great and there's not need to buy software unless you want the extra features that come with SparkoCam.

@@Simplebizsupport Thanks - not entirely - Im told a focus notification will show periodically. The post I read said you need to turn off camera notification settings. I just don't konw if this is true or how to do it.
@@markshirley01 I'm not familiar with a camera notification setting that needs to be turned off. With overlays and autofocus turned off, you'll get a clean HDMI out. With any advice, I recommend testing, testing, testing to confirm.
@@Simplebizsupport hi thanks for your help - I just tried a livestream with the 80D the other thing we noticed is the output ratio is not 1080p ratio but more square is there anything we could set to put that right
i have a t7i would you recommend using it in place of the 80d?
No, the 80D has dual pixel autofocus, so it will keep you in focus and is a better camera overall.

instead of usb port can i use an hdmi cable ?
Yes, you can use HDMI but will need a capture card and you won't be able to use auto focus feature :(
@@Simplebizsupport thanks for the info.
What resolution do you get out of the 80D? 1080 fullHD ou only 720 HD? Thanks
I don't know exactly, but I've seen that it is even lower than 720 I believe.
Hello friend thank you for making this video. I am in the same setup you are talking about with canon 80d. There are some issues, in which I would like your guidance. Let me, know if you are free enough to support us. Thanks in advance!
How can I help you?
Does it work with WebEx?
I haven't tried, but it should!
If someone has tried with WebEx, leave a comment below - thanks!
Do you know if with the new version of the Canon EOS webcam utility you can have a clean HDMI?
Hey Alessandro, I haven't heard anything, but I believe the issue has to be resolved with a camera firmware update as it is the camera that is sending the overlay information out.
Thanks. I've just check the elgato website and they have a list of supported cameras with all the features. The 80D has the clean HDMI. Cheers from Italy 🇮🇹
@@alessandroamadei5193 just know that you only get "clean HDMI" out on the 80D with auto focus turned off. With autofucus on, you'll see the tracking boxes on the screen which I wish Canon would remove with a simple firmware update. Cheers from California!
Thanks! Was really helpful. How do I get my camera to stay on preview mode for a long-time while on zoom? Pressing and seeing the record button make it quite unprefessional
When I'm using my Canon 80D or M6 Mark ii, I just turn the camera on and set to video. There is no need to press record button. Does that help?
you can also extend the time of the screen saver
Thanks I have been able to sort it out.
does it picks up the mic on the camera
No, just the video.
I noticed that your voice isn't totally synced with the video. How do you fix that?
That is an issue of recording through Zoom, there is a delay on the video. The actual Zoom room would be in synch.
Please I’m
Using elgato cam link with canon 70D on Ecamm live, but my video aspect ratio doesn’t fill the whole screen, kindly assist me on how to fix this. Thanks
@@Simplebizsupport - That doesn't excuse the misleading title though.
Hi, i use a video capture (razer ripsaw) and i need clean hdmi out but keep using auto focus, this work for me?
This will replace video capture by connecting camera to computer via USB. Then you will get clean signal out when in autofocus.

I'm using a 35mm lens for this setup Michael.

Yeah but I need windows 10 for the USB software to work!!!

Hey mate I see behind you have the LCD screen of the 80D on and connected to the computer via HDMI how do you have both when I connect my 80 d via HDMI it shuts off the lcd screen thanks
Hey Mate, I'm not sure If the other end of the cable was plugged in to anything. I shot this video a while back and have since changed to the Canon M6 Mark ii and don't recall exactly how I had the 80D configured.
On my camera if you go to the menu and go to shooting settings #4 and then select HDMI info disp then select either clean 4K output or fdh output then you can see both screens. At least that’s how it works on my camera I have an SL3

@@vernonjsmith8126 Yeah, Dale problem here - unable to record when outputting to HDMI. I record on my computer with a usb mic.
What I can't find anywhere is what the resolution and framerate is coming off of the usb port, not what it is being converted up to. I have read different accounts that say it is only 1024x768. What is actually coming into the computer? I don't want to bother if it is not HD.
I've read the specs, but don't recall what they are, but they're definitely not 1080p HD which is a bummer, but on Zoom, UA-cam, Skype, ect. I haven't been able to notice a difference personally.
Another work around for clean hdmi out is manual focus. No software is required. I use it everyday.
Yes, a great work around - thank you for sharing :)
It looks like the 80D with Sparkocam doesn't have a good match up between the video and audio. It's a few frames off and distracting.

Sorry my man, but this is not a HDMI out because you using your usb out instead of the hdmi and unfortunately the bit rate and quality is much-much worse then what the camera capable for. please dont put in the title that you are using hdmi and then actually use usb. complete lie.
Yes, I get that and thought about it before creating and uploading the video. Right or wrong, the reason, if you care to know, I use clean HDMI is because that is what most everyone is searching for. If I don't using the keywords people are searching for then I never have the opportunity to explain that you can can't get clean HDMI out on Canon 80D with auto focus on.
Useless tutorial, just download the webcam software from canon and you're all set. You don't need to spend money buying other software.
Sparko cost too much. The new Canon software limits you to 720p
Agreed that Sparko is pricey. For me it's worth the money because I can adjust the camera settings from my computer. I wish Canon would provide firmware upgrade for true clean HDMI out for older devices but I don't think they'll do that.
