Hello everyone! It's been a while!
Here is my first full original metal song called 'Our Silence'. I hope you enjoy it!
Making reaction videos has inspired me to put more effort into my own music. I've had a few projects and bands before but this was my first time making a fully original metal song myself. This was definitely a real challenge for me, especially the production! I know I have much to improve so I welcome any feedback!
All guitar, bass and vocal parts written and performed by myself. Support my channel so I can hire a real drummer! Cinematography by Parisa Peyman.

Dude this was really fucking good !! Damn the time you must have put into this. Great job 🤘🏼🤘🏼 hear some arjen in there and lots of diff metal. Great thing about doing your own gig is you get to let out all those sounds that have influenced you over the years. Sounds like you’re having a blast. Keep at it 🤘🏼 hate to say this but if you did a reaction video you could let more people know you did this and get some more traction on it. Just a thought

some of the nastiest riffs in there I heard for a long time! Really fun composition and very diverse. You're a man of many talents, that's for sure. Really excellent job from every perspective. Writing, Musicianship and recording/mixing. Do you do all of your own mixing and mastering? I do the same thing, just not as well. Really nice.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I didn't detune the guitars but I have been having tuning issues with my PRS, maybe one slipped and you have a keener ear than I.
Cheers! Can just about create growls in a studio setting but still working on that 😄
What sort of music do you like to play yourself?
@@ThomFoolery1 The only growl I can reliably produce is that noise I make when I drop back into a couch after a tough day at work.... kind of a 'ha-ruuuh'... not very musical.
As far as music, I grew up on two styles that have a high effort to even begin on: Zappa, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra (John McLaughlin). Plus, I only had acoustics and most of those were mediocre Harmony instruments. Hard to shred on a baseball bat. And, for a while I played Bothy Band covers, but never could find a decent Irish Bouzouki. It wasn't till I was done with my engineering career that I ventured out into decent electrics. I also made my own lap steel or two. After nearly 20 years as a dentist, I'm going to sacrifice a little fingertip precision for a nice set of string string callouses by woodshedding a bunch of metal ... I was never a very 'lyrical player, and laways leaned towards silly mathematical precision, which seems to be the proper thing for a lot of metal.
At least, I'll give it a try.

You made your own lap guitars!? That's awesome, I'm guessing it's a little easier since the action is intentionally higher, I really know so little about crafting these things from scratch. Love the sound of one or a dobro in skilled hands.
Interesting, I never thought how the infamous guitarist callouses could interfere with certain lines of work but I guess that makes sense.
Music is very mathematical so I think that's okay and very connected to metal as you say. Makes me wonder how someone's line of work also affects them musically. Makes sense for someone with your experience to be more precise and technical, it's cool to think about! Keep at it as long as you enjoy it. 😃🤘

What did you use for drums?
Cheers! It's all MIDI drums. Some parts are loops that I've tweaked to fit the song.
