a) a Headshot is NOT a portrait of you shot from shoulders up
b) a COMMERCIAL Headshot can be a portrait as well as shot from waist up and also full length shot and most often smiling
c) a THEATRICAL Headshot is typically a portrait
d) A GREAT HEADSHOT is a Headshot that makes the Casting Director or Viewer stop to look at yours, as an example, if all the Headshots received by the Casting Director are B&W and yours is in Color: yours will standout.
e) Best way to determine what a GREAT HEADSHOT is, is to get Feedback from Top Casting Directors and ask them to give you examples of Headshots that catches their attention

It doesn't matter if you wear make up but it has to not be a full glam look, it has to be daily make up. If you don't wear make up even better...they see you all natural.
you’ve inspired me to become an actress. when i was very little seriously like 3 i talked to myself pretending i was on a show. then my parents got me into acting at around 8. i stopped after the session was over. i started watching your videos around 10 years old and now 2 years later I still watch them because they’re so helpful!! ❤️

Abby, do you have any experience at acting? You should start getting some experience if you haven't. You can gain experience by becoming involved in any stage productions or local theater groups.
there’s many agencies that have open call auditions which means anyone (even beginners) can join and they’ll help you get started, take classes and build your resume

Can you wear a ponytail in a headshot? Because my hair is super curly and I usually have to wash it before to make it look good. So I would have to wash my hair right before the audition. Kiara's camera your mom can be your agent in the beginning, but she can only get you so far. Then you have to have a bigger agency that gets the much bigger roles.

Depends on what roles you’re going for
Commercial Headshots you should smile for, basically everything else is a straight face
Olivia you should try get at least one where you are smiling and one where you make a straight face
