Apparently you should NOT walk in in character AT ALL, but start when you act. That way, they see your personality first, and know who they’re working with. And if your character is rude, for example, it will deter them from choosing you.
Sarah Rutter that’s exactly what you should do, they want to see who you are as a person first not in character. Because then it also helps for them to be able to see how well you get into character
I might be completely wrong: but this is the case for Commercial auditions, not any other auditions!

I heard from famous actors and casting directors that walking into the audition room in character is “awkward” and can be seen as unprofessional because yeah they want somebody as that cabana tee but they want to see how good that actor is at switching their role on and off or to see how the actor develops getting into character. Just wanted to clarify, otherwise this is really awesome advice :)

Also, you can have acting classes and get an agent. You just tell the agent you want to be an extra.

Hi Audrey, I was wondering, is your mom the director/creator of Catch 22? Because I noticed you tagged her in pictures and I was confused.
Also, is Catch 22 filmed near you or do you travel to film it?
For the commercial tip on staying in character the whole time, would casting directors ever “call you out” for answering like the character and not yourself? What would you say if that does happen?
no they would not
And if they do (which is super unlikely) just say that you’re method acting.

Horrible advice, never go into an audition "in character." And do not lie when they ask you questions to better reflect your character.

I think the best advice for commercial additions is to be an animated version of yourself, not a character. Kinda like not showing up in costume but rather in something you character might wear in modern times.

Question for Aubrey (please answer!). You said not to have glasses if you didn't in your headshot. I wear glasses. I had a headshot consultation with Joe Lorenzo and he told me not to wear glasses in my headshot but I wear them in every day life. Should I not wear glasses to my auditions that I use that headshot for?
