Hey FreeGang! Check out our Costco vs Tesco video here! 😃👉 ua-cam.com/video/nInklhtfws4/v-deo.html
Does p mean cents in London?
Great Video 😊 idea for video- you could use vinted (second hand clothes) to pick an outfit for one another its really cheap for big brands, the best choice wins, hope everyone has a great day 😊
Check the manufacturer details on the own brand goods as sometimes different stores use the same manufacturers and similar packaging.
That's a good idea, thanks Vicky! 👍🙏
Did you know the owners of Aldi and Lidl are brothers? Apparently the fell out and 1 branched out alone. Big love ❤
They're not, it's actually a myth. Aldi and trader joes are owned by the same family though. Ldil and aldi do share that They're both owned by German families.
Great video I saw online Aldi and lidls were owned by two brothers and they fell out and opened there own store each in competition 😄
Not true, I worked for them both in the 90s
Livebutnotlive from a very sunny and warm Nottingham our aldi has unfortunately closed down now I'm team lidl
Sorry to hear that, but at least there's Lidl! 😃
I like both shops I am live but not live from a sunny Manchester love you all xx
Yes I like to see waitrose verse aldi or lidi great video aslo a taste test please I have a lidi a bus ride near me
I have a Aldi and a Lidl right next to the place where I live (both are around 100m away from here) but I mostly go to Lidl and very seldom to Aldi ! The Lidl App is good I also have it on my phone !
Amazing video as always.. just a fun fact for you guys ..It is not one company but two companies, owned by brothers aldi and lidl explains why everything looks alike 😁
Hi from sunny Cheltenham, it's a bit windy too. My mum came yesterday with our dog Louis, he's a cavalier king Charles spaniel.
Thanks for the reply. 🙂
Thanks for the shopping
Have so enjoyed your video, done in a lighthearted but informative manner. With this one & your previous price comparison one, has made me aware of what I spend. I need to be more aware of the cost of things. Our cost of living has risen quiet a bit, between the impact of our fires, covid, the current flooding & the impact of the Ukraine War & cost of fuel increase. Money does not stretch as far. I've had to give up Private Health Insurance as just could not afford it. Now I need two operations & are on the public hospital system & because of Covid, the waiting list is unbelievable. I love how you include Jojo in the decisions regarding household expenses as it is teaching him good habits with the cost of living & healthy eating but not missing out on "snacks" that all children love. Also you don't just say "that's what your eating" "like it go hungry" your educating him that healthy eating does not mean boring & unappetizing food. Do your other children follow your practices. Did you bring them up the same way as Jojo or you weren't practicing veganism during their young years. WHEN & WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS LIFESTYLE.
Cheers & love from across the ocean, #livebutnotlive Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻🙂🧡💙🧡💙. 🇺🇦🌻🙏🏼💙
Some things do taste different 🙂 it's funny. For a watermelon here in the USA is 10.00 dollars.prices are bad so we really have to watch.
FamilyFreedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!! Commenting to you #LIVEbutNOTlive from South Carolina, USA! Love you guys & the FreeGang is the BEST gang EVER. I like Lidl the best out of the two, but I feel like Aldi will take this one.
Love both of the shops xx
Yes Lidl have some good stuff, I always shop in Lidl :) but that’s because it’s closer to where I live and I don’t drive so have to carry what I buy.
Lidl is awesome especially the Freash Bakery
Aldi does have a better vegan range I find lidl can be a bit unpredictable because you’ll find a product you love one week and then it goes missing for a year haha but I have to say I’m team Lidl I just find the quality better, and with Aldi I always seem to spend more on things I don’t need. Plus the Lidl app is a great feature ❤️
That's true about the inconsistency of certain products at Lidl, it can be annoying! 😃
Sending love to you and your family Shauna 💚
It's easy for me to remember that as they rhyme & similar sounds ...I'll remember as Lidl has a little range of vegan items !! Lol. 😆😅👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇬🇧💞
I'm from USA FRom Iowa we have a Aldi but not the other we have a Hy-Vee that's very high prices and target very high.I think the USA is alot higher.Man time to do something different. Thanks never had them sorry.Have a good day 🥰🙏💖
We love lidl and have the app. So friendly and helpful. Our 2 local Aldi's the staff are a waste of space.
You should do sainsbury vs aldi
I get envious every time I see English vegan UA-camrs doing grocery shopping. You have such a wonderful range of products compared to what we have in Australia and it is also way more affordable. Buying any sort of vegan alternative product here (from things like sausage rolls through to faux meat) is only ever a treat :-(
Team Aldi all the way! Tastes better too 😄
I shop everywhere too. I think Aldi is slightly better quality but I much prefer Lidl Greek Yoghurt to the Aldi Greek yoghurt. However Aldi’s toiletries/beauty dept is better and my mother swears by Aldi washing powder. I have noticed over the last few months that Lidl never seems to have pitta bread, unless there is a storage that I haven’t heard about.
Sounds like they are pretty even, it would depend on which one is closer to home.
Good point 👌 Aldi is further and therefore would cost more in fuel 🙂
Wow I cant believe how cheap your groceries are compared to US prices, some items are similar but other are way under. It's hard to find anything for under a dollar, canned goods are at least 50 cents (about 1 euro). I love Aldi and Lidl equally its hard for me to choose. They are brothers and they both own each store, its pretty much the same company.
I have both in my neighbor and it's very convenient for me shop from them , but I find Lidl products tastier sometimes.
lidil
are the best
thank you so much#
Coming live but not live from Scotland n its really sunny (for a change) your vlogs always make me smile:)
That's great to hear 🤗
Team aldi 💪🏻lidls lotality scheme you have to use a phone for the app ( not everyone can afford phone) xx
That's a very good point! 👍
Hi Freegang, how about a blind taste test is (Lidl v aldi v branded) or other brands. Love your videos 😄❤
Hi Nicola 👋 Great idea 👌
@@FamilyFreedom Thank you for replying to my comment 😃
Just a suggestion, next time you do one of these videos and JoJo is reading out the prices on a receipt, get him to use a ruler to help read the receipt. He can use the ruler to go down the receipt and it will be easier to keep track of each individual item (hope this makes sense)
wonky is the sizes not the shape there usually bigger or a different shape. in Australia there called odd bunch, it all started in France where they had odd shaped and size fruits and veg where usually it would be dumped because of supermarket high quality one supermarket decided to sell it for cheaper rather than throw away the waste in fruit and veg is unbelievable because people taste with there eyes
Thank you for explaining that 👌🤗
I use to spend 22.50 a week as a single working part time 16 hours and paying rent and travel I use to go to both shop wouldn’t go anywhere else !!! But I do like Aldi as more of a range of foods ! And cheaper snacks stuff x
Amazing video we are definitely team crumpets.
Love the idea of Aldi VS Waitrose or maybe M&S. 😊💚🌱🥰
I have an idea. Maybe you could do Sainsburys versus 🆚 Tesco. Love your videos. ❤️
Team Aldi. Our stores are much smaller than the 2 you visited. Our Lidi unfortunately always looks like a good clean is needed. And they are owned by brothers.
Team aldi......but it is known they are 2 brothers which own different stores and use a lot of the same manufacturers 🙂
Sunny Blackpool coming live but not live home now lol 😂
Team lidl here and I love my crumpets aswell those pringles are great 👍 ♡♡
As a Lidl worker I love Lidl lol
Not live from Birmingham
Me too.
Can't believe how much the prices were the same xx
Aldi
Clare Parsons yes England
🤢 I can’t stand crumpets! It’s like eating a sponge! Absolutely loved the video thanks guys! 🥰
I believe from what I was told is Aldi and Lidl are owned by brothers they originally had Aldi and then had a full out and then Lidl came along not sure how correct this info actually is or it was something along these lines
Yes food factories do food for different customers ( supermarkets ) especially cleaning products when it comes to their own brand. I know because years ago I did a stint in a factory that did cleaning products. They did most major supermarkets own brand cleaning fluids, and washing up liquid. We got to take the rejects home. Which was good of them..In business never keep all your eggs in one basket. 👍🇬🇧♥️👍
Thanks for the insight 👌🙂
@@FamilyFreedom your very welcome. 👍♥️👍
This video was a brilliant idea, very interesting, outside my Lidl there’s a huge sign of Lidl comparing there prices to Sainsbury’s! Aldi Marmite tastes great by the way 😂😋❤️❤️ you could do a video were you do Aldi vs Tesco Value that would be interesting?? Love your videos! ❤️❤️
Thanks, we'll grab some Aldi marmite next time we're there 😋
I'm team Lidl never been to Aldi
I’m team also only because there’s is two near me and the Lidl is far away one Aldi I can walk to as I can’t drive but my shops isn’t too much as it’s only me 😂
I hate crumpets lol. I hate the small holes
Team crumpet for sure with lots of butter toasted 😋
I want to do a basic crash course in commerce.
Intrested in where products come from
Brilliant! I don’t use Lidl but it’s interesting to see how closely they are keeping track of each other’s products and prices.
I would love to see you do a taste test to compare the two stores.
It would be interesting to see you taste test a vegan food haul from Aldi too. I have been impressed by most of their products. The vegan bacon you pointed out is the best I have found. I wasn’t keen on the vegan cheese they bought out recently.
I would also be interested in a ‘what we eat in a day’ type video.
I get the impression you try to keep it whole food based where possible and would be interested to see what sort of food you are making…nosey aren’t I! 😂 x
Ps, I can’t stand crumpets 😂
Thanks for the suggestions 😊 yes you're right we do eat mostly whole foods at home, we're always trying to figure out ways of making the food super delicious 😋
We have our taste test coming today 👌
I have been moving towards a whole food plant based diet as much as possible too. It’s easy at home but very difficult when out and about which always derails me.
Looking forward to your next video x
Great video I like aldi more because the one near where I live it's bigger variety of food then lidl
Love crumpets! Interesting video though :)
I love Aldi!
Great video guys
Thanks John 😊
@@FamilyFreedom you're welcome
So much cheaper than USA. I only shop Aldi we don't have Lidl yet.
I always felt like Lidl prices are the same as Tesco in someways
Morrisons vs asda next 🤣
#livebutnotlive from texas at 7:53am I'm super nervous in 8 more days I'm getting oral surgery for my wisdom tooth removal
We hope it goes well for you 😊
Unrelated comment and topic but have you guys seen or heard the anime Hellsing Ultimate as in Van Helsing in Dracula it’s a good show you guys should check it out
Thanks we'll check it out 😊
@@FamilyFreedom cool
Food is so cheap over there. I live in New Jersey and food is so expensive. The oat milk I bought yesterday was over $4.00 😭
Not to mention all that food would have been well over $100.
Lidl the first and last time for me everything was almost out of date aldi is much better
you should have done a shopping challenge between jojo and Sienna
They would love that 🙂
Unfortunately, Adli doesn't treat it's staff or delivery drivers very well. My brother delivered to them once & never again. But that's a pattern with delivery drivers; because of the way Aldi treats them, very few delivery drivers will deliver to them more than once. They try to order the delivery drivers around like slaves. Drivers are not paid or insured to unload, but Aldi tries to force them to. And Aldi tries to give them unreasonable times to unload in. Drivers have driven back to the distribution centres with full loads because Aldi have refused to unload like they're meant to. And it's not just the drivers being difficult. They call their bosses & their bosses tell them not to unload for safety reasons because they're not paid or insured to unload, except in genuine emergencies.
And then there's the issue for those of us who have disabilities. I can't pack the bags fast enough & staff get annoyed with me because I'm stopping them reaching their number of check outs in an hour when I can't keep up. And this has happened to me in more than one store.
They just don't treat people well. I don't shop there anymore.
Iceland is great value
I prefer Aldi
Waitrose virses m&s or waitrose virses Tesco!.
Coming live but not live from MALTA here its too much espensive ☹
Team no crumpet
Team crumpet #livebutnotlive from my home in Shropshire x
🙌😋
Lidl was first opened by two brothers who fell out, then one of the brothers opened Aldi....
I don’t like crumpets for some reason 😢
Woo hoo
Team Aldi
Btw aldi and lidl started by two brothers
My kids don't like crumpets
Team Lidl . Hey ! I work for Waitrose. You can’t compare Waitrose to Lidl or ALDI as Waitrose has the best quality .
You can only compare Waitrose with M&S . Comparing it to Waitrose there is no comparison . The customers are different type of people as well .
Hey! A Waitrose to Lidl/Aldi comparison would only be for fun and public interest, just to see how the price/quality compares. We've always found that Waitrose staff are very nice too 😊
My partners mum can’t eat crumpets because of the holes! It makes her feel funny looking at them 😂
I don't like crumpets 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤗
Must be a big Lidl The one here doesn't have the same
Katie if you like mushy peas you should try making the slimming world mushy pea curry.
I'd like to try that, where can I find the recipe? 😋💚
That's a shame that Lidl needs loyalty to be comparable to Aldi prices also I'm that person Katie I don't like crumpets to me it tastes like the name brand thomas english muffins which I find gross, Sorry. But to be fair I'm not a big fan of most breads either so that might be it. I love watching your grocery hauls wish our prices were this cheap in the states
🤗💚
I don't like crumpets xxx
Aldi and Lidl not related
The people that own aldi and lidl are brothers they feel out for a few years but talking again
My milk is like $3, grapes like $7, and on 😧😑
Good job though
Alid is the best to shop
Lidl is the best shop better than Aldi
I don't like crumpets
i like aldi better
Lidi and aldi are the same because they are brothers from Germany
This was an AWESOME vlog !!! So- good !! Lol. Fabulous !!! Thank you !! It's confusing that they're in similar packages !! Lol.
Bourbon ...biscuits...the Japanese brand !!? I grew up with their cookies & snacks as I am Japanese ! Are you guys vegans !!? I was for 17 years !! I am a vegetarian for 13 plus years now ! 👍👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇬🇧💞
