This is a deep dive into John Mayer Trio's "Another Kind of Green" from the Try! album. It features onscreen and downloadable tablature from my own transcription of the tune. The first 25 minutes of the lesson are the individual song parts the first time they are encountered and Part 2 after that outlines the differences in the Verses and Choruses that follow. I also take a small look at the Sept 22 2005 version of AKOG that did not make it on the album, and some of the interesting improvisations that take place on that track.

PLEASE can anyone tell me about the bridge in the acoustic version of this song ( its on UA-cam ) ?? HOW in the world is his guitar creating these sustained overtones that sustain some of the notes like the bass notes in the chords and doesn’t decay creating a literal drifting sound, yet he’s seems to be strumming the higher notes and the bass notes are sustaining with out really being strummed?? Or is he strumming all the notes just in a very John Mayer way? Ive been search for a effortless for guitar and strumming pattern to create that effect? Or is it just that. Is he using an effect on his acoustic. Any suggestion or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone
